Thanks for the hands-on real world test of the new iPad Pro 11”. I’ll be interested to see what you think when editing a video on the 11” (vs. 13”). I’m debating on which size and if I need the 16gb ram.

If you work a lot Multitasking, you need the 16gb ram

Brock - greatly appreciate you taking the time and effort to post your review of the new M4 iPad with Lightroom.
As a long time user of Lightroom on a 3rd gen 11” iPad Pro, I can feel your pain with the slow offloading times. The more photos / videos that are on the card will increase the time. The only way I’ve been able to overcome this is to clear the card after each offload. I realize this is not much help if you need to offload throughout the day, or as in your case in the video, you had files on the card from a prior shoot.
It’s interesting the new M4 does not appear to change the offloading times. I do have a few questions to see if there is a speed bottleneck elsewhere.
    1. Were you using a CFexpress card, or an UHS-II SD Card?
    2. Have you tried testing the offload time with an Apple USB-C to SD Card Reader or another external card reader?
I know you’re busy and would appreciate any info on this, as I’m considering upgrading to the M4 iPad.

I do agree it's so difficult to find images in Lightroom of external media. There is an option to tell Lightroom to automatically import it, but you cannot preview the import at all.

The one thing I dislike in the iPad is so many duplicates of imported files to the application. I'm not sure if the iOS developers realize the issue with storage capacity. For example, how can one find the side card file reference in applications.
How come Lightroom on the iPhone and iPad can't open Lrc catalogs or edit from external media without importing to camera roll or into Lr.
The same with Final Cut Pro for iPad and Premiere Rush, Resolve, VN, and CapCut.
Luma Fusion is the only one that can edit from external media.

I’m not for sure because I’m mainly photo. But, an SD card reader and loading videos directly onto the iPad instead of into Lightroom may be faster? Maybe something to try and let us know how that goes? By the way where is that link I can’t see it.

Using an SD card reader and uploading photos is very fast!

The most annoying thing about Lightroom it's not the same layout as the desktop. You can't enable or see the histogram at all

The most silly thing about Adobe there's two versions of Lightroom 😂
