What Helen did at the end of the video, with the drunk guy, was very impressive and heart warming. I'm quite shy so I go out of my way to avoid anything and everything, so hopefully there aren't many like me, and thank god for people like Helen. We did exactly the same thing, stayed on the £2 car park and did all the same pubs, loved the One Eyed Rat, absolutely love Ripon, it's great that the council allow overnight parking, all credit to them.

5:55 What's he got on his head. Love Ripon , stayed in that Spoonies for three nights and did all the pubs in town . Every night at 21-00 the Hornblower comes into the square to let you know that the Vikings aren't there and puts the town to bed 😂📯👍
Im lucky that I don't have many overheads (ie rent/mortgage/energy bills) so whilst my income has dropped quite a bit I always make sure that I've enough for a few beers at the weekend 😉🙂

Your travels, unlike my own, have a chaotic character to them. I like the peaceful ambiance of a place and the nature that is all around us. I might go and investigate Ripon after I've done some research into what is worth photographing. I like to wander around unnoticed and explore a place and its history. It's strange how there seems to be hundreds of people choking the streets these days. Fifty years ago, I could walk empty streets wherever I went, because everybody was at work and housewives were shopping, not getting under my feet.

After watching this video we decided to go to Ripon. Lovely place. Today we’ve been to York, not impressed, (full of ppl in fancy dress, I.e race goers) then on to Knaresborough. Helen would love all the charity shops. It’s also a very pretty little village. We’re at Nidd Hall for a few days then back home to the Wirral.
