    Hi everyone, thanks for watching! Last week I asked you all for questions that I could answer for a 1,000-subscriber special, but I didn't get enough. So, if you have any questions about Hebrew, the Hebrew Bible, or language learning in general, please ask it here and I'll try to answer it in what may become a 5,000-subscriber special. :)

      I so thoroughly enjoyed this video and what you taught. Thank you. I learned awhile ago that the Hebrew names in the Bible have meanings that are different than what we practice in Western culture. Would you do a video on the meanings of the prophets in the Tanakh and the Apostles in the Brit Hachadasha?

    Thank you. I’ve just started learning Hebrew. Beautiful written and spoken language. My main purpose of learning Hebrew is to better understand the original meaning both linguistically and culturally of the Bible, Tanakh. Plus the Hebrew worship music I listen to is a mixture of traditional and Messianic. 🙏

    • @LearnTheLingo_Hebrew
      @LearnTheLingo_Hebrew  26 дней назад

      @@mscorner4149 Thank you for clarifying! To go ahead and give you an answer, the word יראה is from the root ירא (yod, resh, aleph). This root has a meaning of 'fear'. The meaning of this sometimes has to do with being afraid, but other times it can be understood as being in awe.

    Hi, I really appreciate your video. I am still a student of The Word of the Lord. All I have read in His Word is beautiful and loving. How to love Him and our neighbors. Even our neighbor's donkey that may have a heavy burden we should help. How wonderful is the Lord God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. I wanted to read the 613 laws. I did and found how beautiful and full of love for all of His creation and for Him in each one. All Honor, praise, glory, worship belongs to Him.

    I have to point out that I don't think "B'reishit" means "in the beginning" --> It means "in a beginning." "In the beginning" would be "bareishit" - a different vowel used that would be obvious to any fluent Hebrew speaker. Why "in a beginning" is used is beyond me.

    • @LearnTheLingo_Hebrew
      @LearnTheLingo_Hebrew  27 дней назад +2

      That's correct! In the video I was careful to say it was usually translated as 'in the beginning', since I didn't want to get into the nuances in this video. B'reishit would more correctly mean 'in a beginning' or more likely 'in the beginning of'. The 'of' may refer to the next phrase 'bara Elohim' - God created - and so some translations render the first verse as 'When God began to create the heavens and the earth...'

    Awesome. Thank you!
    Questions: In 2:32 Why do you say LORD אֲדֹנָי‎ when reading יְהוָה‎? What version are you reading it from since it doesn't have the full vowel points such as יְהֹוָה‎?

    • @LearnTheLingo_Hebrew
      @LearnTheLingo_Hebrew  День назад

      @@vm1552 Adonai is the traditional reading of the divine four letter name, and has been for so long the actual pronunciation has been currently lost, meaning I don't know for sure how the name was pronounced, and so I use the traditional reading Adonai.
      The name is only given the cholam in a few places throughout the Hebrew Bible, and only has the sh'va and qamatz, I'm not sure why though.

    Yes true, but you have to also break down other words you can find in it!
    Like *"Sham (Name) + Mauth/Muth (Death)."*
    I truly believe that the Creator's Name was- יהיה for YaHaYaH. And He said He does a new thing many times.
    And with twist of the tongues since Babalan. That He told Abraham, or that Abraham wrote "YaHUaH"!
