My favourite class of loco along with the LMS Duchess’s. I didn’t know that it was out on the tracks and literally missed seeing it in Carlisle by 2 seconds, no exaggeration. I was in the car park at B&Q and saw the smoke trail go behind the building and if not all the carriages then all bar one slowly paraded past behind the building but I’d just missed seeing the loco. Gutted!
Hi Brian, Carlisle visitor on Saturday was The Battle of Britain Class “Tangmere”, the A4 was running Newcastle to London. Now I know I can let you know the next time it comes to Carlisle or come to that any loco visiting Carlisle. It is always a disappointment to miss seeing one by a whisker. Soon be off again in a few days to have coffee in the English Rose. Care to join me.
@@keith.anderson1257 I’d absolutely love to join you for a coffee there, unfortunately I cannot see me getting over again until the end of the year so you’ll have to have two cups there yourself. Shane I missed a Battle of Britain class too. Don’t often see the SR trains up north

The Battle of Britain class appears to be rostered again next Saturday to be in Carlisle.
