Man, someone really needs to investigate that Bruce Wayne fella. His kids seem to keep dying... then coming back. There's gotta be some kinda tax scam going on.
This video probably had the funniest change of thumbnail and title that I have ever seen. The whiplash of going from "Batman's son get's shish-kebab'ed" and a super gruesome artwork to "Grief." and an apporpiratly sad Bruce with his dead son in his arms.... Honestly kinda incredible.
I know a lot of people rip DC for resurrecting Damian after the stages of grief, whether it’s the timing or for doing it at all, but regardless of our individual feelings for that, after reading these issues, a part of you likely can’t help but feel glad Bruce manages to get his son back.
This video brought a very, VERY sad tear to my eye,not a single batman story has got me this emotional except for this one, especially during the panel where alfred was doing the simulation, god, so well done.
The stages of Grief issues I think are some of the strongest issues ever written. And Pat Gleason and Mick Gray’s art brings it to life in such unforgiving detail. The expressions are heartbreaking. The melancholy pervades every panel. And the scene where Batman says he’s sorry for not seeing the depth of Alfred’s pain-for not seeing that he wasn’t the only one who lost a son-gets me every fucking time. Alfred’s pain is so real.
Jason: "How dare you brought me to the place I had the second worst day in my life?!" Bruce: "Second?" Jason: "Yeah...That day Artemis told me she saw me just as her "best friend"...That sh*t was just too much..."
Honestly, that first issue of B&R you touched on is up there with my all time favorite single issues of any comic ever. The absence of any text or speech bubbles is staggering. Some of Patrick Gleason’s best work too.
The beginning was hilarious and yeah Batman has a history of losing Robin such as Jason Todd the first Robin he lost. But I think Tim Drake died too, I can’t remember how he died tho. This video made me feel sorry for Robin and we now know how he really feel about his son. Or should I say sons ❤🖤
I really appreciate the work you put into these man! I know many others do as well, I’ve been a big fan of yours for almost a year or so now, and your videos just keep getting better. 💪
I remember reading this story and having tears run down my face in the first part of it. Somehow there not being any text hits hard. Something I didn't expect is burstig into tears a moment ago when you talked about Alfred and the simulation. Not "oh this makes me sad" type tears, straigh "someone I loved died" type tears. I'm not really one to cry in movies and such but this comic, this story, this artwork is doing something to me
Aka the story that made Talia 100% irredeemable to me forever. Im not a Damian fan, especially not in the New 52. But Talia causing this was always horrific to me. I dont even know if its been addressed or forgiven, but I SURE DIDN'T FORGET OR FORGIVE
Damn this story was actually to much I had to stop myself from crying at the end. It's kind of a chilling reminder that even though Batman is a hero , he is also just a really damaged man he has suffered and continues to suffer through it all. It also reminds me of a quote he ounce said to Catwoman about superman that " deep down I know he is a good man and deep down I am not".
To think, at the end of all this, Bruce beats the shit out of motherfucking Darkseid to bring Damian back. A father's grief is a powerful thing indeed.
The comic written by Peter J Tomasi in Batman and Robin right in the after math of Damian’s death is a master at his craft in visual storytelling. Literally no dialogue but you feel every once of despair from Bruce who just lost his son.
What I never understood abt Jason’s death is how did his corpse survive the dynamite blast. Like, you would think Batman would find nothing left of Jason 💀
The serious looking thumbnail paired with the single word title of "Grief." made me think this video was going to be more personal than the rest of what you've made. Needless to say, the intro absolutely dickslapped me across the face with mood whiplash.
Well now we need a video for what happens directly after this cause I don't have a clue (don't read the comics, guessing a revival but I want the detail dammit)
Not sure how to feel about everyone else dealing with the death but 😅 it is good focusing on showing human emotions and how the bat family would go about it. Batman:I want to use the resources around me to bring my son back. Everyone else: just because you can bring someone back doesn't mean you should....it always means you shouldn't tho. Always don't do it. No matter what. Me: idk red hood seems to be doing ok. turning him into zombies to be trapped in boy boddy forever...bad. giving him the red hood bath.... reasonable. Im not sure why not. Crippling the bad guys...is just always a good idea. dead son or not Batman should do that more.
this video really made me appreciate Damian and I’d love to see more of him if you have any plans on doing videos about him and what’s happening after this event :>
People seem to ignore the whole bringing Jason back to the site of his death thing when compiling “worst things Batman has done to the Batfamily” videos and I don’t know how cuz it’s UP THERE
I love how the death of Jason Todd was supposed to be a JOKE. DC left readers on a cliffhanger on the issue prior, asking them to vote on who they should kill off--Jason Todd or the Joker. People wrote in voting to kill off Jason, not expecting DC to actually do it. But they did, and it actually helped turn Batman into a more tragic hero (as opposed to the goofy Adam West version).
I read this entire comic up to the point of his revival because I thought it had some continuity with that offshoot story about the joker screwing with damian
Bruce: "I can't believe Damian died... It's something I'm just unable to process..." Jason: "Don't worry, Bruce. I'll take care of everything." Bruce: "Really? You really are a great brother, Jay.." Jason: "No need...I'll make sure to buy the best chsmpan" 😉 Bruce: 🤬
hey mullet-man, since you've done some videos on some joke villains that got redeemed with cool stories (kite-man, Killer Moth), could you do one on Sportsmaster? in specifically the version they did for Young Justice and how they turned this shitty sports obsessed man into a actual cool and threatening villain
Bro that moment with Batman and the little girl flying through the sky is such a Batman moment. I cant guys im crying during this video. EDIT: I judt got to the Alfred part i cant stop crying now.
Man, someone really needs to investigate that Bruce Wayne fella. His kids seem to keep dying... then coming back. There's gotta be some kinda tax scam going on.
They did investigate him when Jason died
Gotham Knights issues 44 and 45 already addressed this topic.

Genuinely didn’t mess with the title or thumbnail cuz it did not match the tone of the vid whatsoever 😂
Then Batman petting the "batcow" 💀

Remember, death is a joke in comics. Only uncle Ben stays death.

DC-revive that fucker. We need more money
The moment with Alfred at the end made at cry a little
That intro is worthy of a Oscar
This is the story that made me a Batman fan. I just wish other stories were as good, and emotionally hard-hitting as this one.
This was heart-breaking man such a great narration
Great job as always mate!!
Everyone else had to fight like hell to make sure he lived but for Alfred it was so easy.. I couldn't imagine that kind of guilt and shame
The part of the simulation with Alfred is so depressing man
I’m not sure if you were having an aneurysm but whatever those first 30 seconds were I need more

The title change is definitely better for the algorithm lol
Man, wasnt expecting to tear up to a video going over a fictional character briefly dying. But here we are, here we are...

They could have at least give Damian a more dignified death instead of turning him into a gremlin kebab.
you should make a video about the Two Face arc that happens in that same series before Damian is brought back from the dead.
a akrham game inspired by this storyline would be toughhh
The "post-credits" scene (so to speak). Dude. 😂😂
