I would love to see you interview and play with Dan Grieve…..I love his short game RUclips content, but would LOVE to see him play 9 holes with you on some hidden gem in the UK. Ask him to share his opinion on whether RUclips inspires growth of the sport, e.g. new people see it and try it, or whether it’s just amplified exposure of all aspects of the game for people who already love the game❤😊

Growing up I loved to watch Tom Watson in The Open. And the very fact that he had a chance to win The Open when he was over 60 just shows the competitor he was when conditions were tough.

Cool vid and the way you set expectations about quality at the start was great. It's fun to see your passion for the game shine though, it inspires me to get out there and play and not worry so much about things needing to be perfect. I've took a (too long) break from the game I love and watching your vids is helping me to get back into it! I even took a trip to St Andrews (from Canada) in 2023 and was like a kid at Christmas!!!!
Sounds like you've grand plans for 2024 which I look forward to. I enjoy seeing club pros play at their own courses so club pros you know who are great would be a welcome watch for me. Interesting women golfers need more airtime. Miguel Ángel Jiménez would be an absolute coup also!! James Robinson is also so watchable and knowledgeable too. Something that's making your channel stand out is YOU, so if you feel there is someone the type of viewer you want to reach would enjoy I'd reckon you'll probably be right!!

Kenya is a beautiful country with wonderful people - I took my son birding there years ago, it's stunning. And whilst on the subject of trees growing through things there, when I was a kid a friend's father restored a vintage car (Invicta) that he found wrecked on a farm in Kenya and which had a tree growing through it. I had some thoughts about guests, but you'll make great choices without my suggestions. You'll find the right people and it'll be great.
All I want to add is that I (and so many others) love what you bring to us and I REALLY hope you don't push it too much and hurt your wrist. A monthly interview (which will probably also include playing with a guest), AND 24 rounds of Chasing the Red, is a lot of wear on that wrist. I'd hate to miss months worth of Iona because of an injury. Better a little less of the good stuff than a lot less of it.
Be careful and thank you for sharing your journey with us!

Thoroughly enjoyable content again Iona. Looking forward to more through 2024. Unfortunately I share your pain with the Arthritis, only mine is in my hips, the Scottish winter climate is not exactly ideal, but stopping playing is not an option, get strapped up and loaded up with painkillers and get out on the course. You look forward to a game all week so take the consequences of the pain the next day. Anyway I would like to see you play or talk round the course with Andrew Coltart our fellow Scot and your Sky Sports colleague. I like his commentaries, usually light hearted, but it’s always good to hear any professional or ex professionals mind set for different situations, also good to see them make an arse of shots now and then because it’s the same game for us all.

So much to love about this video. Very real. Your ability to share 2024 content plans, etc. while walking and playing. Using a cell phone for the recording. The fact that such a golf personality would be play such a rough course (no disrespect at all). That you’d not complain one bit about the conditions or your lie and that you’d still actually “try” to get the ball in the hole in the fewest strokes possible. While also enjoying the ambiance and beauty around you. There’s not much of this content out there. I’ll keep tuning in so matter your guests. Thank you.

As for guests, well last year was just an epic year for European golf. Solheim Cup, Junior Solheim, Ryder Cup and Junior Ryder Cup.... Bring along one player from each European team... That would be amazing, especially the juniors. They are the future of this wonderful sport
Also try and get some G4D players.... They will have truly inspiring stories to tell.
And finally try and get Martin Slumbers to make an appearance, before his retirement
Wishing you the very best for 2024

I think it’s always great to play pitch and putt courses as it’s great for your short game and yes there are times when I use my wedge to putt.
I also use different wedges to play shots as it helps with the short game generally.
I’m really looking forward to your videos and people you will be talking to.
Would love to see you interview viktor Hovlan not sure if that’s the right spelling,as I do like to watch him play

Enjoyed the video as always! I really appreciate the maturity and class of your videos, paired with high quality golf. Very relaxed feel, not overly dramatized. Personally, I’d really enjoy seeing you play a round with Rickie Fowler. I’ve been listening to Bob Rotella’s books recently too so I’d love to hear an interview with him. Thanks!

Love to hear from a disarmed:
    Hatton, Rory, Rahm, Monty.
Jimmy Bullard for a bit of fun and I’m sure we’d see a different Jimmy.
Any of the big business guys like Peter Jones (if they play golf).
Poulter, Stenson, Bryson, Trottie from Taylor Made, Guy Charnock on his experience of growing the Rick Shiels machine!!
You always seem to give us a look at a different side to a person!
Love the channel and especially love the relaxed nature of this video !

Great to see you are keeping the chasing the red series Iona! I would like to see Akshay Bhatia as a guest some day. He’s new to the tour but an exceptional young left hander who would make a very good guest.

This is rapidly becoming my favourite channel, don't care what it's filmed on, I just love the voice. Many years ago I read a book called; Four Iron in the Soul. It is the real story of a journeyman pro & life on the road. I would love to hear more from the pros that go under the radar, caddies too for that matter. Keep up the good work.

Can’t agree more. Will be great to hear from Gary Player talking about how the game has evolved, how technology has evolved and the impact it had on the game and also how one can continue playing golf till an old age.

Sounds an exciting busy year. From the men's game a couple of the recent euro legends like Luke Donald, Justin Rose would be interesting. Both had the highs and lows and things like Ryder cup, Roses series. Lydia Ko and Charley Hull from the Ladies game are two I enjoy watching and listening to. Other elite sporting stars who find escape in golf? A Ben Stokes for example. And finally as a treat for all the hard word set up that round with George Clooney :)

Great episode, it was nice to hear your plans for 2024. Maybe you could play a round with Freddy Couples, he seems like a cool guy. Also, Lydia Ko, Nelly Korda, or Lexi might be cool to golf with, and just pick their brains on golf and tour life.

Once again, jealous of where you get to play! Although when I saw the combination of shorts, short sleeves and dusk I thought you would be eaten alive!
I would love to see something a tad different from the normal pro’s. A round with one of the youngsters on the performance academy you mentioned, with a wedge designer, with a golf focused PT / stretching coach, with a top green keeper. Etc.

  • @gavintaylor5099

Great video yet again Iona. It would be interesting to watch interviews with players that also do a lot of work outside their actual playing, such as Jordan Spieth, Ernie Els, Gary Player and many others. They have foundations that give back for various reasons. Regarding the skills/instructional videos, it would be good to learn some practice items for the short game that can be performed from mats at a range. Most golf places near me only either have a driving range with mats or a putting green or both. But most don’t allow pitching practice onto the putting green and don’t have practice bunkers etc. which makes practicing the things you come across on the course much harder. So anything to help with that would be great if possible.
