I've got the same model and have issues with it, despite buying it yesterday. Decided to downloaded CS:GO and was getting around 15 fps on Mirage and Dust II. So I then did a bit of research and learnt about the Nividia Control Panel, I opened that and accessed the 'Manage 3D Settings' and in the 'Global Settings' tab, placed 'High-performance NIVIDIA processor' into the 'Preferred graphics processor' thing. Proceeded to the Program Settings and put 'High-performance NIVIDIA processor' into use for CS:GO. Next, opened 'Set PhysX configuration' and selected "GeForce GTX 1650 with Max-Q Design'. Opened CS:GO again and got the same frames. Did more research and downloaded the GeForce Experience driver from Nividia. Hopped into the settings on that, and found the fps cap was at 30 - increased to its max, 60. So again, opened CS:GO and finally was getting around 60 fps but never going over, also every few seconds the game would decide to drop frames to around 10. If you've got anything that could help, please and thanks.

People don't mention that it has full-sized arrow keys. F those half keys, terrible for coding/scripting. This laptop is great and definitely worth the buck, but I hope they fix a couple things in the next model, even if it would cost them more to sell. 1. Higher nits of screen brightness. Seems ridiculous that my phone has more than twice the nits. It should at least have 400 nits if I want to use it outside. 2. Upward speakers, like a macbook. 3. Windows Hello and/or possibly move the fingerprint location to somewhere like the power button? (Seems kind of odd on the trackpad imo) 4. That screen flex is a bit concerning. You could add a little bit of weight to the screen so it doesn't (assuming) wobble on a table. 5. Add thunderbolt capability for charging via usb c. 6. Not a content creator, but a full-sized SD seems to be something they want. That said, I do want to get rid of my macbook for this laptop and the only thing I'll really miss is probably the speakers, which is not a big deal since I don't use them that much.

Usually it all depends on what you are doing. If you are using only the CPU for work and browsing you will get more than 10 hrs. of battery life, but if you are gaming and using the GPU more intensively you will get around 2-2.5 hrs. and that is more than average for this class of laptops.

Really comes down to battery life vs performance. Depends on what classes you’re taking. Like if you’re doing 3D modelling, that’s gonna drain the battery dead before a full day even with the PS63 so you’ll need to bring a charger with you and if you do, you might as well just get a Blade for the extra performance. Aside from that, they’re both kinda the same. Same mediocre speakers, both built well, portable, you get the idea. Literally battery life vs performance here
Do you think the aero 15 with 1660ti is a better option than this? Importance is battery life. Would like to play AAA titles but don't mind dropping graphics quality for it. And the aero is about 100$ more in my country.
Get the aero. It has thunder bolt 3, full size SD card, more premium build, has 144 Hz option, and bigger battery also. I used to have MSI GS70. Never buying msi again, quality is quite cheap.
Different laptops imo. I'm only seeing like 6 hours of battery life with the Aero 15 (Classic). I'm actually working on a review for it that should go up in a few days. But yeah, it's a bit bigger, heavier, 6 hour battery life but much faster. My unit is running an RTX 2060 so idk how the 1660Ti performs with the Aero 15 unfortunately.

Why is it still so difficult for manufacturers to match Apples level of quality builds and material?? I own a Razer Blade Stealth myself and I feel like Razer is the only alternative for the quality feel.. especially a simple thing like Apples laptop speakers are so amazing.. every laptop either has low sound or loudness with barely any bass and massive amounts of distortion. Is it so much to ask for for this over 1 gs laptops??
First off, laptop speakers will never be able to sound as good as things like headphones and actual speakers which are dedicated for their purpose. If you really wanted to, you could install drivers such as the nahimic audio driver or boom, in which you can tune the speakers for a better experience but then again the same question, why build great speakers that increase the overall price of the machine when they aren't gonna be used a lot of the time? Things like having a better screen, keyboard, cpu, gpu aid in tasks you would readily perform on a laptop, and are in my opinion a much higher priority in a laptop. if you really wanted to do something with sound eg. gaming, you would or should have headphones/earphones/speakers in the first place. Unlike apple, who heavily focuses on design and build for their products, other companies would put in more functionality, customisation and hardware to get a better price and performance for it. I do agree with the fact that from a customers perspective, a lot of companies putting their speakers at the bottom is a mistake and that the speakers should be top facing but from the engineering side I can see why they don't do it to so that they can make more space for the rest of the hardware.
It's not a GTX 1650, like you state in the title, video and description, but a GTX 1650 Max-Q. There's a 20-30% performance difference between those two in gaming (1080p high and max settings) and that's not something one can brush of as minor error.

While the ps63 more expensive at around 1250 usd And is it a good deal at 2020 or are there other option at this area with the same price range ? Around 1000usd And the msi prestige 15 is away out of my budget
Never used the S540, only the 15" S740. The 15" S740 is a high performance laptop, not one for portability and battery life like the MSI or the 14" S540 so I can't compare them. Also, 8GB RAM minimum, preferably 12GB or more. 4GB is not enough in 2020. All of the Lenovo laptops I've used were easy to upgrade so factor any upgrades into the cost of the laptop. If you need a GTX 1650, I don't know of anything around 1000 USD other than heavy gaming laptops. If you're on a budget, I would probably just get the S540, install more RAM afterwards, and maybe bigger SSD if necessary. I like Lenovo laptops in general, and it's a lot cheaper too in this case so it shouldn't be too bad.

Do you think that a better option than the ps63? While the ps63 more expensive at around 1250 usd
And is it a good deal at 2020 or are there other option at this area with the same price range ? Around 1000usd
And the msi prestige 15 is away out of my budget
I just ordered mine :D
where did you order it from i cant find one with a 1650
Is the HDMI really only 1.4b?
Is there no hinge problem on it?
Product link
I will you review the new blade stealth with 1650 ? Later can you compare it to the ps63 modern ?
Can u compare this with Helios 300 2019 version
I'm a student.. I need a gud battery life and a lap I could play some games on.. just curious wat to pick this one or Helios 300 2019 version
If you're looking for good battery life, don't consider the Helios 300.
Is 280 bright enough?? And what is the screen hz??
if your going to use it only in dark rooms then yes, for anything else nah...
Gaunter O'Dimm oh damn :/ I’d probably play it in my room anyway so I don’t really know now. Thanks. Any word about the hz support?
@@saveusm1saki726 if I'm you imma rather go safe and I say if they didn't mention it to be 144hz or 240hz then it's probably the normal 60hz.
Glad I could help
Gaunter O'Dimm thanks, mate
Nice ending music :)
Please compare this with Dell Inspiron "Vostro" 15. It has similar specs but with thunderbolt 3. Thanks
This is the cloest one to my dream laptop but I would prefer a type c ports support pd charging, a full size sd card slots and maybe a 2k screen which balance resolution and battery life.
The new MSI Prestige 15 (iteration of this PS63) has all that you want, except the full size sd card.
@@lumdermaku Thank you.
How worse is the 1050ti (max q) model than this one..?
As a reflex I had a reason like they do it on the left side because right handed peoples than have a free space on the right side.
Then I am like bro I never use the top right corner
Thats stupid I do use the the left side corner They should have made that area free..
Overall just for placement for the fastest touch left is beter, because for me:
The touchpad is the most important element and my right hand is always diagonal so its faster to click the touchpad if its on the left side.
SAXTON HAAAAAAAAALE
will this run Adobe CC 2020 smoothly?
Looking for a solid laptop that does well with video editing, simple graphics, and photo editing (I don’t play video games) and it’s between this and the Razer Blade 15
Anyone have any other recommendations
Only thing I’m looking for is
-15 inch
-Good CPU
-Upgradable
-Can be docked to a monitor
Hi how and what model of 16 GB of RAM can i add to this Laptop MSI PS63 8RDS
I just cant stand the blue color. No idea why companies force a color onto consumers.
oh shutup you fucking racist
BLNKT just because it’s blue, you fucking hate it??? Fuck off m8, stop seeing colors.
Gray with blue colors compliment each other. Give me another combination of color other than the “red and black” (we have too many of those)
Hey where can I get vector art in your profile pic?
Is it 144hz ? or the same 60hz Frame Rate ???
60hz
Is this okay for Vs code?
Hey Infinity labs!

Helios 300, Lenovo Y540, Asus GA502.

How did you get your ícons in the middle?
StartIsBack
How is the keyboard? Nvm my question just got answered.
yo dude. Love the reviews. Yours pursuaded me to get a matebook x pro. Out of curiosity, how to you get hold of review units?
I cant find this model anywhere
Seriously ? I just bought mine a week ago ( the 1050 because it has better srgb than the 1050 ti) for 1499$ . I had no idea that there was a student discount or even a new more powerful version ... Only if I knew ...
You have return policy
If you bought it at the Microsoft store, you can go in and have them apply the student discount within 30 days. Otherwise, just return it and buy it at Microsoft. No sweat
Infinity Labs mhe I don’t’ want to return it just for a 100 $ .. but thanks
What is UMA graphics in - Msi ps63 modern 8m-067in. Can it handle Video editing works.in Adobe AE, PP , LR , PS etc.
That's integrated graphics only. You shouldn't get that one if you need more gpu performance I think
how long when 100% battery playing game without charging?
He said in the video. 3-3.5 hrs
Where do you get your wallpapers
Always linked in the description. In general, I'll stumble across some nice wallpapers just casually browsing the internet and use them so I don't actually grab from one source all the time.
The best
Notif squaddd
Commented 2 whole minutes before I did lool
So this or the 2019 Alienware m15?

is this plastic made ?
Only the bottom panel and the 2 hinges are plastic(i guess the screen frame, too), the rest is aluminium.
i hate the hinge design they made since GS65.. looks absolutely cheap and not reliable at all
wow you are copying all the screens from dave2dee. Develop your own style dude, wth
