It looks quality. I am continuously impressed what these smaller companies put out in the micro pc/handheld space. Great video as always. I wonder how a Snapdragon XR2 version would do.

What goes around comes around, comes around. I still have a minicomputer about this same size I bought in about 2008. Of course it didn’t have the power this new one does, but the idea is pretty much the same.
@@andros4323A mini PC is a great option for night guards because it offers a convenient way to stay entertained during long, quiet shifts. Plus, its small size makes it easy to carry around and set up, so you won't have to worry about lugging around a heavy laptop or desktop computer. Overall, a mini PC is a great investment for anyone who wants to stay entertained and productive during those long nights on the job
I was going to say that it would be sick to use as a pihole or a media server interface machine, but given that there are no ethernet ports, sadly it falls short.
These laptops would do great with a snapdragon CPU. I dont understand why companies dont try to implement this kind of format + CPU for 11 to 13" screens.
same reason companies rarely put the cheap U series of AMD in anything these days, they hid behind the " silicon shortage" excuse and prefer to dish out only top expensive products which gives them a higher profit margin
I can actually see a use case for this device from somebody that Uses a Tablet with a Keyboard for work. The problem with the tablet is that it doesn't run Windows apps which 2 I need for work sometimes. I don't like using my Laptop because it is overkill most of the time, and it dies quickly when not plugged in and its one drop away from being damaged at any time, whereas the tablet can withstand being bumped around more like a Phone. This mini laptop looks like it solves all those issues
Welcome back netbooks, but now the hardware has matured so it doesn't feel terrible to use. The only thing I wished it had was a 2280 m.2 slot, but I can totally understand it has size constraints.
I was always fascinated by window based mobile, tabs & mini laptops. I love the versatility of windows and when that space was taken by android I was never comfortable. This product looks really promising and i hope to buy it someday in future.
This is a REALLY REALLY nice design, great choice for the backlit keyboard 👍 There's a big number of people who'd be interested in this IF IT'S LINUX compatible !!
Reminds me to my manager calculator's I used to own in the 90s capable of storing phone numbers and notes, exchanges and calculations and basic tasks with their astonishing 32/64/128kb memory.❤ This could be cool to run Linux on.
Not if you tweaked the software. I was able to install a custom debloated windows 7 on the miniscule 8gb ultraslow "ssd" of the Acer Aspire One and with some deep tweaking it's speed was acceptable. Yeah, it was still bad compared to actual laptops of the time but, boy, didn't I feel cool being the only person in the campus with a tiny netbook when it first came out. Lol!
This reminds me of my old MSI Wind U100 but that even in 2009 the limits of 1GB of ram and 140GB 5400 RPM spinning hard drive were a bit rough. Windows 7 Starter was very slow, MacOS Snow Leopard was better but Hackintosh compatibility was always hot and miss so I ended up running Crunchbang Linux on it.
Hey ETA Prime! :) Did you know that the red power button on that thing is also a fingerprint reader? Yep, it is. Use it as a Windows Hello log in method.
I always test Mario Kart 8 Deluxe running on Yuzu. For weaker systems, you can set the graphic renderer to be "Software" in PCSX2 to make PS2 games run smoothly.
I used to have Netbooks in my childhood. I still remember that those devices struggled with their Pentium CPUs and low RAM. Haha. Nowadays, I would choose an iPad over those devices. But still, those little things were cute.
Seems like the n100 would make a good small form factor handheld gaming pc. Something the size of the Switch lite with similar battery life for indie, emulation, and older titles.
Those low power chips are actually pretty good. Not meant for gaming, but they do everything else very nicely. This is quite a nice model mini laptop or a tablet with a keyboard. It would probably run Android also.
hope more devices like this take off in a year or two when more chip makers like MediaTek enter the game. intel just isn’t suited for tiny netbooks or tablets
Instead of an Intel or an AMD CPU, it would be interesting to see an ARM CPU with Windows 11. As a mini netbook, it won't need a LOT of processing power. Instead, an ARM CPU could help boost battery life and run cooler.
It would be nice to show this being used for people who would use this in a job. I am an occupational therapist who goes to people’s homes for assessments, potentially something like this would be great to write up our assessments. And yes, I am one of those people who uses back cameras on tablets, as we often need to take photos for home modifications purposes, or of wheelchairs or equipment people are currently using. I would imagine architects and builders would be similar. Not everyone works in the tech world. It then saves mucking around with transferring photos (although I do use link to windows which has made it easier to do). I use apps like measures that allow drawing on a photo to add measurements. It is frustrating to see in most of these videos so much time spent on gaming. I’m sure that if people are gaming, this would not be the sort of device that you would want to use. Plenty of other better options.
I am surprised we are not seeing more "mini" netbook style snapdragon devices that are in this form factor. I suppose snapdragon was looking to/ more interested in competing in the 14-16" market.
I would love to see you run Linux on this thing, and bench it as an everyday machine. Especially the battery! I love dinky little devices like this, and they go paw in paw with Linux so well ^^
Return of the netbook. Not seeing the value at the pricepoint for such a niche product. I'd gladly take one as a gift but it would likely just get thrown in the closet with my Asus eee pc from 20 years ago (which kept my interest for a hot minute). I would definitely swap out Windows for Zorin or LMDE tho. Turn it into a poorman's Steamdeck. (If I'm not mistaken, my old Asus eee pc came with Linux.)
That's really neet, and small probably too small for me. I have a tablet that is slightly larger at 7" x 10" and I would like to have a laptop slightly larger than that, maybe 11" or 12". I remember years ago the holy grail of notebook computers was 8.5" x 11" so it would fit in your briefcase just like a stack of paper. That was before universal use of Windows which lead to every laptop coming with a touchpad and that killed the 8.5" x 11" form factor. I wanted a text-based 8.5 x 11 for coding and never got one.
