This is a most wonderful rendition of a beautiful song. The residents of Mull must be very proud to have such an outstanding vocalist in their midst.
Thank you for sharing this gem, which I have added to my "Favourites" list.

I wish I can sing this song in my wedding day... If I made it, I may possibly leave my country and my Mother for a new life in Scotland... 😢😢

First stumbled across this song by accident on BBC Alba. Was absolutely captivated and searched for a while afterward to try and find the song on the internet... so glad someone has posted this version - makes me want to learn Gaelic.

Loving Alasdair's rendition of this now as much as when I first heard it many years ago. Still brings a tear to the eye.

Absolutely beautiful. My favourite gaelic song, though I don't speak the gaelic my husband is from the Isle of Lewis and it is his first language. Found the song while looking at the Great Calum Kennedy who also sings it beautifully. Fantastic singing Alasdair makes me proud to be Scottish. Though can't seem to find the words of "My Mother" anywhere on internet. Hopefully coming to Mull for holidays in summer and looking forward to see the island again. cheers Lizmac

Not all of the 5 verses are usually sung. Usually just 2, perhaps 3, with refrain.

Wonderful, really. So clear and well coordinated with the flawless piano playing. My hat's off to both these guys. Brings a tear to the eye to hear something so beautiful.

Well done Alasdair, a very fine rendition and I keep coming back to it. By the way, I think it wasprobably your grandfather I knew in Salen in the mid 1960s. At one point I bought a Toy Pomeranian puppy from him for my mother. Again, very well done.
