For the sinker setup try wet the leader with saliva because when you pull fast to tighten the knot it causes friction and with 10lb test it would bust easy.
Flip the bubble around. That way it won't open up on you while whipping

I noticed it as well filp the bubble float and might have to get a bigger swivel so it doesn’t get stuck inside the wider end of the bubble float.
