I think the fast main part of the fill is: rack,rack,floor,floor,kick,kick, snare and cymbal.

Yeah the heel-toe makes it a bit less tiring but it sucks to learn haha and the kicks sound good! It highlights the footwork that James puts into the song that goes unnoticed!
I agree dude haha, it would be easier using the heel-toe but I already tried to learn and the sound comes too "faint" .. making the simple way I think it's cooler !!

Thank u so much for the comment Brycen. About the mics, unfortunately i'm not able to answer you, cause i recorded in a studio with a friend and i don't understand shit of this hahaha. What I can tell you is that he joins the drum original sound with samples, so the sound clean and look good with punch.
