I've been watching your channel for about 3 years, maybe a little longer. You simply amaze me. Your thinking and the methodical moving the metal while keeping it simple just blows my mind. Thanks again for the wonderful lesson .You are truly an artist.
Another awesome video. I never get tired of your fabrication skills I could watch you do the same things over and over and never get bored. Thank you Tony.
The lines of the hood now are so much better. It just didn't look right, it didn't flow. Now the corners are a great improvement, it looks like it belongs. Great job!
Thank You again Tony. I've been working for the car Dealerships doing PDR and paint repair ( mobile) for 25 years, recently a Dealership gave Me a bay to set up in (rent free) I'm learning small to medium rust repair. I very much appreciate Your expertise. Thank You.
That looks a whole lot better than the butchery from before. I like the fact that you showed us how you went back to retrieve that stuck piece and you ended up with a pucker. That's ok because now we get to see how to clean it up. That was simple and straightforward and the results are great.
This is why I love your channel Fitzee. Work like this. Transmuting butchery to eloquence in steel. Fantastic to watch and inspiring to my education. As has been said by other posters; I can watch you do the same things essentially, again and again, an not be anything butt (pun installed) welded... no! Mesmerised at the skills, techniques and digestible steps in simple genius fabrication. Most, most, satisfying. Thank you.
There was something really wrong about the front of the hood, even without the dodgy welding. Cutting it all out looked like such a brave step but you have done a brilliant job rebuilding it into a really pleasing shape. Another fantastic video, thank you Tony.
Fitzee I am a long time watcher and I have to say you do the kind of work I would like to do but a few health issues have made it nearly impossible for me to get up or down but I do enjoy watching you build the firewall and floor pans on crusty but I am loving you working on the 49 Chevy my brother had one when he was about 16 or 17 and of course I was about 12 and we had a argument so I let the air out of all 4 tires when our dad got home someone was made to use a hand tire pump with the car setting down on all fours and yep I had to pump them up he has since passed and I’m getting old but if I could I would dearly love to own that car keep up the great work and giving us a glimpse or two of peanuts all the best- Jan
Definitely can see your work compared to the previous one done ! Well done I’ve learned a lot from your channel and been using your method on my 55 Chevy ! Mahalo 😃🤙🤙🤙 Aloha from Texas
Hey Fitzee. I've been watching your channel for a couple of years now. You always amaze me how you make things look so easy. I don't leave a comment, but that will change. I will leave more comments because I know that it helps your channel out. Thanks for sharing and stay well.👍👍🍁
I have the advantage of having two monitors on my computer, and one of the things I do quite often is open a second of the same video after watching the 1st one. Then I can run one to the beginning and the 2nd to the end to compare the before and after. The transition of this hood from its "original" state to the "Fitzee finish" is astounding. It looks SO much cleaner in its flow and is more symmetrically correct. Thanks Tony, another video full of good tips and fine crafting. Not that I hope you have way to much snow, but that may mean we get more videos. Cheers from the wet coast BC.🍻
IT's amazing how much this work cleaned up the front of the car. Made it look easy enough that some of us MIGHT be able to pull it off. But I've done enough metal work to know when I should attempt it and when I should continue watching Fitzee do it instead.
Tony all.your experience really shows here. I just don't have the eye to look at a mess like that and see a solution. And then have the guts to chop it all off! I'm developing skills to repair and fix issues, but I can't even see me ever having the skill to just build from scratch the way you did!
That was simply amazing. Really wasn't sure how you'd get at that....Really good tips...love the straight edge to make it straight and symmetric left to right. And a big thx for showing where it fell away from the heat...that was important for me to see. . ...think you've got more snow then we do in north ontario.
Loved this all your teachings had all fallen together and I could just about have written the story line of the steps you took. Respect to the master tradesmen.
Outstanding work Tony. You simplified a major project. She's looking better every time you work on her. You are almost there with this car. I think? Well done!
Wow! I think it would be difficult to overstate the transformation on that hood, mate. What a difference! The idea with most custom work is usually to make it NOT look so much like its been modified, but that it could have been a factory model that nobody's seen before....and its done by taking the original lines and enhancing the natural flow and curve of the era of the vehicle to the way the metal would have looked, had it been designed that way. That '49 may look radically different when sat beside another '49, but most importantly, it WONT look WRONG with everything flowing and symmetrical and the gaps all even. The hood now giving the front end some definition and style - instead of something that looked like a manatee with a fat lip - is the crowning glory for the beast once the front end is on. The face of a vehicle is what people look at first and if there's something wrong with it, then they become more critical of the rest of the build. I believe I can see where you're headed with the front clip on it, Tony and I'm looking forward to seeing it in the metal. That whole car is a showcase of your ability and it certainly doesn't disappoint ME, that's for sure! She's going to be a stunner when finished - a sleek-bodied '49 with a bit of flare and menace. Love it!
The absolute BRILLIANCE of the “Cut-And-Butt” is that the true “final” positional movement of the steel is only about .035” [ thirty-five thousandths or an inch ] Another sheet metal “Masterpiece” in the making. Awesome! Great Job Fitzee 😊 👍
looks good Tony! Love to watch the cut and butt. I hope that if I keep practicing, one day my attempts will come out with the 2 sides close like yours do!
I can’t believe how far this car has come already. I remember seeing it for the first time and thinking…….Jesus tapdancing Christ fitzee, what are you even gonna do with that second hand abomination 🤣
Thank You Tony for the pro tips! Keep'em coming! And thank you also for showing the minors as well and how to over come them. Wasn't aware of the heats influence thou I've had the same situation couple of times.. Mint!!
Tony I couldn’t believe how much of a difference your reworking of the hood made in the looks of the front end of that car. It not only looks better it actually looks mean
I’m really liking this old Chevy. She’s in good hands. I can’t wait to see a paint job. Maybe a Winfield fade would do it some justice or a deep cherry candy with a heavy flaked pearl roof. Wide whites with some reversed chrome steel wheels. The sky’s the limit.
The hood with the new shape is very nice. The front of the hood flows very well into the fenders now. I can't what to see how the grill will fit on the front end.
Another great day when Tony drops a video and a fantastic job on that hood, it's a huge improvement over what was there, no biggie about the brace though because it looks like it could use a cleanup and a shot of trimclad on the top, nice job Tony and more great tips as always,, till next time
Hey Tony . I think you need a G90E Dint puller . They are cheap and work great. That way you wouldn't have to remove bracing from behind panels. Have you ever thought about getting one. Or even seen one and great video .but of course the master always do a great job

I'm glad you have done something with that hood. It looked like Dart vaders helmet 😂
Always a good thing when Fitzee drops a new video. I can hardly wait to see Crusty move under its own power.
The lines of the hood now are so much better. It just didn't look right, it didn't flow. Now the corners are a great improvement, it looks like it belongs. Great job!
From pig's ear to silk purse, the best metal magic on the tube!

Great job, she is starting to show her prettiness now!
That looks a whole lot better than the butchery from before. I like the fact that you showed us how you went back to retrieve that stuck piece and you ended up with a pucker. That's ok because now we get to see how to clean it up. That was simple and straightforward and the results are great.
Excellent work as usual Fritzee.

That was quite a job fixing that mess. It was interesting how you used different pieces of metal to re-form the correct shape in the hood.
There was something really wrong about the front of the hood, even without the dodgy welding. Cutting it all out looked like such a brave step but you have done a brilliant job rebuilding it into a really pleasing shape. Another fantastic video, thank you Tony.

A sheetmetal surgeon at his finest..A nose job to be proud of!!!

I am actualy doing a restoration... I am learning a lot from watching you doing all that fantastic sheet metal body work... I thank you !!!

your metal working is OUTSTANDING! i learn so much from every vid ,
I’m not ready to take on a custom project, but will be employing everything I have learned from this channel when I restore my truck.
So glad to see the front get some love. I try not to dis anyones projects but this needed alot of TLC.
Loved this all your teachings had all fallen together and I could just about have written the story line of the steps you took. Respect to the master tradesmen.
Brilliant!
A joy to watch.
Can’t wait for the next installment, Tony.

Amazing job, I am restoring a vintage car myself and watching your videos are a great help. Many thanks
Mistakes and all, it looks great Tony. Always enjoy your work lessons. Thank you again, Joe😊
It's fascinating to watch a artist at work . Thanks Tony !
Everytime i watch you I'm just amazed by your talents keep it up looking good
Great job on this watching you fabricate and getting the right curves and making it come together your work is fantastic thumbs up on this one👍👍👍👍👍

It's just a pleasure to watch someone. That cares about what they're do
Barry
Thanks Fitzee I cant wait to get time to get to use some of the skills ive learnt from watching your channel
I really like the rework- that swooping transition before, other than being poorly done, just didn’t flow. Nice job.
Nice work Tony, and thanks for all the tips. Take care and stay safe 👍
Enjoy every minute of your videos, the way you edit makes it interesting and I don't have to forward a second of it
Keep up the good work! 👍
You the MAN WHEN IT COMES TO A REAL BODY MAN. JERRY😊
That looks so much better, well done Sir 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice fix 👍 that guy is lucky that he found someone who could turn a turd into a gem 😂
looks good Tony! Love to watch the cut and butt. I hope that if I keep practicing, one day my attempts will come out with the 2 sides close like yours do!
That definitely looks better on the front edge. Thanks Tony.
The flow of those body lines actually look like they were done in 1949. Well done sir!
Almost thought Tony was going to forget to check in with the cat.
I'm always amazed at the quality of what you do, and you tell us about your mistakes. A true artist and craftsman. Can't wait for more.
thanks for 45 min of fun!!!!! I am doing paint work at this point, i would rather be making something with some sheet metal!!!
Beautiful work Tony, it's a pleasure to watch you work.
I can’t believe how far this car has come already. I remember seeing it for the first time and thinking…….Jesus tapdancing Christ fitzee, what are you even gonna do with that second hand abomination 🤣

Yes. You are such a great teacher. Thank you.
We all learn the most from mistakes. Thank you very much.
truly an artisan ... Mr. Metal
Hey Tony, thanks for another one!
👍💪✌
Looks 100 times better.
🥓
Great job, certainly make it look easy, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Tony I couldn’t believe how much of a difference your reworking of the hood made in the looks of the front end of that car. It not only looks better it actually looks mean
You definitely have an eye for the lines of a Chevy. That's the difference between good and exceptional! 😊
What you achieve is truly amazing.
Thank you for this lesson how to build a hood.
You build a piece of Art and you are an Artist.
Thank you for sharing your skills
I like it! It reminds me of a '48 Caddy
have you ever tried using a DA sander on the metal for prep? with 60 or 80 grit it wont gouge the metal as much . love how you work. very impressive
Too slow. I wore out a bunch of DA's when I was in the trade as a bodyman
I never get tired of the cut and butt.
Once you cut off that support @26:00 it already looked 1000x better than when you got it.
Shop inspector inspecting the snow. Another incidence of cold feet.
Cut n Butt king baby! 👑
😉✌
Masterclass in metal shaping and sculpting.
Very nice work, you are a true craftsman.
Awesome job Tony looks great
Very nice tony. Gonna look great
Lots of work but great results. Thanks for sharing
Helluva nice job Tony
Love your work Tony
All the work you’ve put into that car pretty soon you’ll be able to claim full build…. She’s looking pretty snazzy though… Keep up the good work
Great video and excellent coverage
You always do an amazing job
Amazing job Tony love to watch you work
Phenomenal...as usual!!👌👌👌
Great work again Tony, using the KISS principle.
Always amazing. A master of the art.
love your work !
One word - wow!!
The hood with the new shape is very nice. The front of the hood flows very well into the fenders now. I can't what to see how the grill will fit on the front end.
Great work Tony. And you make it look effortless. 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you Tony for the tips!😊
Nice job looks great 👍
Love your work 👍👍
This is why I watch your channel...love this video...
Always a great tech session here
You sir are a master. Thank you for your tutorials and excellent video shots.
Another great day when Tony drops a video and a fantastic job on that hood, it's a huge improvement over what was there, no biggie about the brace though because it looks like it could use a cleanup and a shot of trimclad on the top, nice job Tony and more great tips as always,, till next time
Beautiful work ❤
Hey Tony . I think you need a G90E Dint puller . They are cheap and work great. That way you wouldn't have to remove bracing from behind panels. Have you ever thought about getting one. Or even seen one and great video .but of course the master always do a great job
I useddent pullers in my trade. They were quick and dirty and most times made more of a mess then what you started with.
Good content Tony 👍👍
It's always a pleasure, and the tips are always good.
Thanks.
Well done Tony you took what looked like a very difficult job and showed how easy it can be done thanks 👍
