Helo Tony: you mentioned Chrome Plating a possibility. Most people do not know what is involved with decorative metal finishing. On your piece where you have buffed you can still see some copper. The tripple plating process involved with good quality decorative finishes has a first plating opper over bare metal. This is buffed to a mirror finish. It filles smal scratches and imperfections and is easily buffed. A badly chipped or dented piece may require multiple copper layers to fill in the pits and small voids. The second finishing layer is a nickel plating to cover the copper. The physical properties of plating create a situation where chrome plating g will not cover into corners and recesses or shadow areas to the same degree as the copper. The nickel covers the copper and is very close to chrome in colour so a copper edge or line will be masked and not noticeable in the finished product. The Nickle layer is then buffed to a mirror finish. Then the 3rd laye or final plating is applied. This is the finish Chrome plating that looks so impressive. There are other methods to lessen the costs. However the finished product will not be as good and will not stand up to environmental exposure to the extent the tripple chrome plate method will.I just thought some of your viewers might be interested.
Great info. Thanks
I'm still amazed at your workmanship. You build things that are complex but make it look so easy. You have an engineering mindset, which is incredible.
Best teacher on the internet. Thank you Tony
Hello, sir, you have displayed an incredible talent in your engineering process. One step at a time, no matter how complicated or overwhelming it seems. Thank you for this approach. It has aided greatly.
The metal master! Thank you Fitzee for bringing us along👍
Great work as always!!! You do it like we all did it in the 80s-90s. Perfect metal work is great, if your customer is rich. Our customers were broke and wanted a good looking ride. I LOVE YOUR STYLE!!!!😊 Oh yea, the tips were awesome.
Really enjoyed this one. Love how you figure out how to mount everything up. A reason for every process. Stuff we take for granted for instance when working on a factory car. Thanks for this👍
Always a great day when you put out another video! The tips were good.
I love the way that turned out. But I sure miss the old days when we could actually get our stuff chrome plated, and could afford it!
Looks so amazing. Yours is probably the only channel I watch till the very end. Even my wife asks if Peanut is in the video.
Tony I like the smile on the chevy! “Great work!”
Outstanding work! Very fun to see it with the grill partially installed. Makes it look more like a car again! 🙂
Tony it looks marvelous! This has to be the most impressive figuring and fitting ive seen you pull off
That was amazing! Those point of reference lines did the trick. Everything is nice and even up and down as well as side to side. I like how you mounted the teeth first. One step at a time and it looks factory made.
Hey Tony, another great bunch of tips! I finally got my 65 F350 in the shop and have started the rust repair. You're in my head!! "Don't over think it"! Rebuilding the lower door hinge pockets and lower air boxes is quite the challenge for me. I've got the passenger side done and it actually turned out decent. Thanks for being in my head! I think?😮
I think Fritz’s liking his new welder! Give him a good welder cut off wheel and grinder and he’s a happy man. Able to do anything.
The transformation from what it was to what it is and becoming is impressive.
Artist at work,Do not disturb! Man , I flinch every time you run your hands along stuff! I only have one 35 year old stubborn splinter, that old chrome is sharp as a razor! Magnets don't work on stainless steel,LOL.
I would have assumed all of that was factory had I seen it in person. amazing work.
Very handy having a lot of nuts, bolts and washers available for jobs. I've kept all sizes of these from anything I've dismantled, so I've accumulated hundreds over the years. I can usually find what I need for whatever I'm doing at the time.
Love the grill. Most impressive fabrication I’ve seen anywhere!
The grill looks real nice Tony, all fitted in place. That is a real 50's look. It could have come right out of Rod & Custom magazine from back in the day!
Fitzee if I or anyone who wouldn't know where to start on a situation such as this , you surely are the one I would learn from again you make look easy with fluid motions with killer results 😎 .
Keep Em Coming
Very educational, I just have to leave it at that. You are a master metal worker, a great teacher. Thanks for the education.
Inspector Peanut gave it the approval I see! 👍 Looking great Tony!
Hi big shout from Glasgow Scotland 🏴 your channel is the biz enjoy everything you share on it.
10 min plus. Nice sounding sparking sound. Sounds like perfect weld.
Always a motivation, doing it with simple techniques and tools.
The grill looks fantastic it has an aggressive look but not too much. And the workmanship is beautiful it’s like looking at a piece of art. when I look at it I get the feeling like this was built in the 50s or 60s. The spacing gauge is a handy tool to have. Great job like always.Peanut is looking good and checking out your work and gave you the it’s all good sign. Later
Tony there's not enough money in the world that would make me fill and paint that car! I'd clear coat it so all your hard work would shine!
Nice work Tony. Bumper and Grill looks super 👌. Take care. 👍👍👍
Fitz you do nice work , Customers'dont realize a job like that is hundreds of hours of work, you provide a little window into that world, there are so few people like you that would even take on a job like that on , by me there are very few places that would even paint a car let alone do custom work.
That was very creative . How you were able to fit that so perfectly. I am highly impressed
I’d be in over my head attempting a job like this I’m afraid it’s much safer watching you do it Tony lol ! Nice job fella there’s a lot going on there it’s really coming together and looking proper cool 👍
You make it look so easy. I guess it is when you know what you are doing.
Another step forward to that splendid front end masterpiece 👍and you make it look so easy, bet you spend hours looking at it to find that perfect flow like an artist ✨
I think the old hardware will work fine
It looks factory Tony. Love the GUAGE because can't say how often I struggle with that. As every, a real treat. Thank you. JOE
Excellent Job on the front end of this car! Fitz, love the bumper and how you've fitted it all together. Looks pretty dern cool.
She would make a good daily driver😊😊😊😊😊
sturdy mounts created there Fitzee, great work as usual
Brother Tony, Great movie!! Sorry you have to deal with the "whatever police".
Hardware police lol. Thanks, interesting to see trim/bumper type stuff. Seen lots of your videos but don't recall seeing chromed metal work on this chanel before. Started my Beaumont project by taking the engine to an engine builder....ouch. starting the metal work this winter. Your videos will be my guide. Good stuff. Cheers.
Another great trick to tack to the car then weld up remove, finish weld and you have a perfect product!!!
This took longer than expected but it's turning out great!
Tony, it blows my mind how precise you are with that grinder. Skills that I could only dream of.
That was very cool to watch that come together.
That car needs a jet black paint job with that grill and eyebrow in chrome and add a set of those 1/2 moon chrome pieces over the headlights
That square with the half inch notches is a similar tool that the ancient Egyptians used to build the pyramids .
Fantastic.! As usual you have the best instincts of how to do something.
Looking good enough you could paint the grille and chrome the body. !
The shop inspector is back on duty. Must be starting to warm up over there now.
She’ll be soon ready for Sema!!! You do fine work sir🫡🫡
The old girl looks better with her teeth in - that's for sure! Man, I love how this beast is coming together - and I'm glad you gave us a hint at how the grille is going to be finished off. Looking forward to seeing that too, as I think there will be some interesting challenges that will be tackled in the usual Fitzee way and there's always something new to learn.
What you did today sounded complicated, but it actually wasn't - using simple tools and keeping the process simple is what got a complicated-looking result done in an easy-to-take-apart fashion and it looks fantastic!
I have a similar chair in my garage - have had it for years. I call it my "Seat of Contemplation" and it gets used when I need to take a step back and look at the big picture and what I want from the end result. A handy thing to have, it's been used more as I have gotten older so I can sit to do the lower parts of a project.....but it still gets used for its original purpose more often than not. When you said you'd been sitting in your seat and contemplating the front of the car, I burst out laughing because I could understand perfectly and totally relate! I reckon it's an absolute must-have for every garage where projects get worked on and it is a fact that quite a few of mine would not have even started - or finished - without that chair.
All the best, Tony.
As always Fitzie, make it look as easy as a peanut butter Jelly Sandwich.
I rally enjoyed your progress. I figured the grill was from a Buick or Oldsmobile. Nice work!. Have it re chromed!
Nice fabricating job fitzee you making those pieces and fitting it come together thumbs up 👍👍
This car is going to be soooo cool.
Another great project turning Chicken Poo into Chicken Salad!. The Master continues to teach and inspire.
nice Cut , Enjoying the Edit. Fitzee your the man, man!
Damn that front end looks nice
i have been using square nuts from hardware store for weld nuts. they are a little larger and easier to get a good weld on as they have a little more meat keep up the great content love the channel
Soooo..... Just the Roof and door tops left for the body???
(Still stuff to do underneath)???
💪💪💪
Amazing Transformation, from when it first arrived...
Keep up the Great Work...
❤❤❤
Great video on fabing up something from scratch.
That looks great Tony and bolting the eyebrow on the body helps pull out the low spots, you just gave me a great idea for the
grill surround on my 47 so thanks for that tip, you help my project more than you can imagine with your videos so thanks for teaching us all your tricks
It's a bit tricky welding different gauges of metal together. I recently had to weld 19 gauge to 11 gauge, making a frame for a small shed.
Very nice work Tony looks great
That looks really cool! Nicely done!
Awesome the grill looks great on the car
Nice job Fitzee 👍 this build is going to be cool 😎
Very good job on this mess.
It's always enjoyable to.watch, very informative! Thanks😊
That's a big step done. Looks good.
Beautiful job Tony, Wow!
Lots of work but great results. Thanks for sharing. Cheers
Like watching an Automotive Orthodontist. Looking really good
The grill is looking badass!!
Awesome work Fitz
Hey Fitzee!
I recently scored myself a throatless shear from Harbor Freight (Princess Auto) it's the same unit as Eastwood's.
Got it for about 45 bucks on clearance. It really makes cutting small stuff a breeze, and it doesn't leave you a burr to hafta grind off. Perfect for all the things you show me how to do. (When I saw you cutting out those small bits)
I been keeping a eye out for those at princess auto . All I ever see is the one for cutting flat bar. Will have to have a look. I have a small bench top one that has two wheels that cut. That one is neat
Really really nice 👍👍
Looks waaaaay better
Lookin' good 👍
Really. Like. The. Look. Thanks ❤❤❤
More fantastic work. Everything looks just right. Great music too! Thank you Tony
It looks soooo simple…
That looks so cool.

My ex never understood that, that's why she is an ex.
Smart approach and stylish results
Looks amazing absolutely
