I haven't wanted a gun this bad in a while. I hate that Springfield gave it a stupid name but I'll overlook that for the fact that it's finally being imported!!! But seriously though why not the VHS-SA? SA works both for "Springfield Armory" and "Semi Auto", Hellion is so stupid. Also hopefully they offer classic conversion kits later for the integrated optic top rail, g36 mags, and original style handguard and lower grip housing. Still I'm super happy I can finally get one though! Thought this was a gun we would never see in the USA.

I'm having trouble pulling the butt stock off. I have the pin out all the way, and the butt stock comes out a bit, but it just doesn't want to finish coming out... Any tips?
How far in the does firing pin go? When you push the bolt back with your hand, should it it be able to lock back in the last notch? Should the firing oin be able to pop out after you put the firing pin retaining pin in? Thanks!

The BCM pistol grip seems out of place. Would be nice if they used, or if it was possible to use, the original pistol grip as seen on the select fire model.
That could very well be a 922R part. I'm actually glad they picked BCM, fantastic grip, and you can always change it to something else in a minute, or the original(back to 922r game).

I love it when people who admittedly rarely shoot bullpups say that bullpups are slower to reload. :-P It's not the gun, it's you. There are lots of videos out there that show that with practice bullpups can actually be faster to reload.

Their older AUG was not "accessory-friendly" and they were rather slow to update it, now they are deploying a newer model with enough rails, some weight reduction, and a better interface with GL and such. SF also uses AR-based rifles because they often work along with other SF that also have AR-based rifles and having cross-compatibility in parts and mags as well as a similar manual of arms is convenient.

When you realize you're gonna be at $2,500 by time you have an optic on it thats very steep. But, I DO think it is a very cool gun and would love to own one. Just too many other ways to spend the money and have a great carbine set up. But YMMV.
Strip and assembly looks unnecessarily complex. Need to simplify, but there's a lot of potential in the design, would love to see a 20 inch DMR variant.
He was just showing the complete basic takedown procedure. This is NOT necessary for eject side change. All you have to do is remove the pin, and then the rest of the bolt assembly. Turn bolt for L. eject v. R. eject. Swap pins for eject port doors. Then reassemble. It’s simple, quick, easy.

The reason this will fail is because Springfield is so full of themselves that they would name it the “hellion” and slap their emblem on BOTH sides of it, rather than just leave the VHS-2 name on it.
I don’t think it will fail. It’s doing things like accuracy and functional bolt release, combined with NATO mag compatibility, better than stuff like the AUG or Tavor.
You can shoot it just fine, the dude was probably trying that for the first time and had his face over the deflector, you can see him re-adjusting. It's called learning, might take some more shooting than a full mag to get it right.
Yes you can. Keep face BEHIND the cheek piece hump. Then is no problem. Also, extending the stock moves your face back more from the ejection port. Easy fixes that work very well.

Swapping may be easy, but it's not so easy that you're doing it in the middle of a firefight, and sometimes you want to shoot from the off shoulder.

It's not the gun, it's you. There are lots of videos out there that show that with practice bullpups can actually be faster to reload.
This guy was spec ops in a country that uses the AUG (or a derivative). He’s right, you’re wrong.

Simplify? It’s three captive pins and a detent for the trigger pack. How much simpler do you want?
