    Reminds me of me,as usual. I forgot to give my best man my wife's Ring to hold, thankfully it worked out 😲. You can get what's called a tongue that you can mount and take off whenever you want and it makes it easier to pull with no damages to the old town.

    Maybe there's a ratcheting pulley wheel for the kayak so you at least can let up a little slack while you're pulling.

    About the crabs with a lot of barnacles on them, I don't know this for a fact but all the crabs I have caught with barnacles were hard shells! My thinking?? That thinking thing again is that they tell you it's been a while since it has shed and is full of meat?? Not a clue if I'm correct or not? I like getting the big Rocks too. The legs are smaller but there is plenty of body meat and huge claws!!
    Thanks for the lessons!!

    Would it be possible once you're out of the Kayak at the end of your video to get an aggregate shot of all of the crabs?

  • @bradjones9634
    @bradjones9634 2 года назад

    Sounds like you're rock crab is like our stone crab on the east and gulf coast. We can only harvest one claw.

  • @HUNTINGNT375
    @HUNTINGNT375 2 года назад

    If there’s barnacles on it means that it hasn’t shared its Shell for a long time meaning way more meat inside the crab we have mud crabs in the Northern Territory barnacles and the crab being very red colour is a sign of full of meat

    I think your videos are awesome! I felt bad for your hands tho🤪. I usually wear my batting gloves. When your pulling crab line up it doesn't bother hands as much. Helps with paddling as well. Please take care and keep it coming! Thanks for your videos 😘

    Interesting the Blue claw crabs on the east coast are very aggressive and one would never put ones hands in the pot! Dungeness seem docile in comparison

    Here in south eastern Australia there aren't a lot of options for crab.... you get the blue swimmers which are pretty small and the giant Australian king crab (different to Alaskan king crab, also known as the Tasmanian giant crab) They look more like one of those rock crab only they grow huge, up to 17 kilograms!

  • @huntingnh11

    Barnacles means it has been in that shell for a while. Normally would mean there is more meat. Nothing to do with its health.

    Dang definitely worth going back to get your missing gear!
    Do u have a fishing camera such as the gofish camera? I'm sure there are others like me that would like to see what goes on while the pot is soaking. Just a thought, I don't think there are many videos on RUclips like that. Could get a lot of views, and might learn something. I liked Matt's gofish footage of him fishing for ling/cabezon along the rocks
