Something Faris said in his plugs, "you can probably cut most of this out", made me think about pre-video headgum podcast eps - although they still had the same beautifully awkward energy they were just a lot tighter across the board in my opinion. I'm assuming that's partly down to the freedom whoever edits it gets just using audio, as you can cut little bits here and there whereas with video it would be really jumpy if there was a cut every 10 seconds. The audit series around ep. 50 comes to mind as just ridiculously funny to listen to, and I don't think it would be improved by having video as everyone would've been more guarded. So, how about trying a non-video ep one of these days just for the energy change? Maybe with someone who's great at doing characters/voices/improv/etc - a Josh Ruben type if you will.

@@agneseditsstuff Exactly - like the old ones didn't feel like they needed video but now listening without video can be jarring. And for some segments definitely worth it, writing advice I think works better when you can see the people acting and reacting simultaneously to Geoff's scripts
yeah the audio only eps are absolutely the golden age of the pod, I think Geoff talked about how he edited the episodes down by a lot, which probably accounts for the difference.
I recently found this channel and binged all of Geoffrey the Dumbass and Off Days, RUclips then fed me rice parodies in the algorithm and I listened to almost all of them and was mesmerized and that’s how I started listening to this podcast. So the long and short of this is I’m trapped in some kind of man made hell; thank you anyway, very funny so far.
