- The Netflix live action Avatar The Last Airbender is just a couple of days away. Today I wanted to make a video talking about some general things that maybe new fans coming into the Avatar franchise should know before seeing the Netflix adaptation. We are going to break it all down in this video! Enjoy!
Avatar: The Last Airbender is an upcoming American adventure fantasy television series. It is a live-action adaptation of the animated television series of the same name (2005-2008). The series is scheduled for a 2024 premiere on Netflix and will consist of eight 1-hour-long episodes.

Its THE ADVENTURE of a lifetime. First time viewing of such a cool story should definitely be a blast and something to remember!
Just saw a recent clip of azula and I'm in love...the actors actually put a lot of effort in Thier characters which is phenomenal
Where did you see?
Out of all youtube channels about avatar this one is my top favorite. I feel part of the family when offered some jasmine tea.
Much appreciated thank always come back for more tea!
This is crazy, I saw Starship Troopers yesterday for the first time ever, never had I ever heard about it and now mention it and do the “Would you like to know more” gag! Talking about timing… 😂
That’s great timing for sure lol
3:18 The Avatar isn't the only one who can enter the spirit world. LoK shows this, and I highly recommend the Kyoshi and Yangchen novels to any AtLA fan.
Along with very clearly being stated in ATLA that Iroh went to the spirit world
@@aaronmoyer4722 very true. His ability to see Aang on Fang could be a visual display indicative of his time in the spirit realm as well. A possible detail I enjoyed. I like to think he and Zuko stumbled through several spirit pools or veils during their quest to find Aang. Merely an unsupported headcanon I like since the show doesn't say when Uncle entered the spirit realm. At least, not that I recall.
So yes you're right I should add a clarification, when I described the idea of who could enter the spirit world I meant that in the sense of how they do it in The Last Airbender. I know Korra changes how one enters the spirit world but new fans wouldn't have gotten to that point yet.
LoK isn’t canon though, just like the movie
@@invinciblemodebruh even though I don’t like it, it’s canon.
Great introduction! And yes, the cabbage merchant deserves ALL the love. Protect this national treasure, if not his cabbages so much... 😅🥬
Thank you for this! Looked for something similar when the first trailer dropped and had no luck...but this was exactly what i needed as a new viewer! Great video
Glad I could help!
I would definitely add that the ATLA is a conceptually mature, action oriented, soap-opera melodrama, in an Asian themed fantasy world where the basic core natural elements are the inspiration for the world building and the magical manipulation of these elements is the driving force for exciting the viewers, along with the conflicts between characters and their on person journeys for growth and development.
Fair point I would agree with this
Nice synopses. Thank you. The various spiritual themes and wisdom resonate the deepest with me. I'm afraid of who I might be today if I hadn't really been introduced to this show a few years ago. I was initially introduced a decade ago, but 'Tales of Ba Sing Se ' hit a little too hard at that time in my life and it took years to come back. I'm certainly glad I did. ❤
My advice to newcomers is that Book 1 is only the foundation. The show really starts to run and fly in Books 2 & 3. That's not to say Book 1 is bad by any means, but it gets so much better! And it's really important not to skip Book 1 for all the introductions to important side characters and the development of the main characters, most of which will pay off later in one way or another, sometimes in multiple ways.
Also, DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE as a "quick" way to get the rundown. It's not worth it. You miss everything that makes this show so good.
I was trying to get my mom into it and she went and watched the movie on her own and had her view of she show warped by it. She wanted to skip the entire first season because she thought she "saw it all already." I eventually got her to watch at least most of the important episodes of the first season, but not all. She still really enjoyed 2 & 3, but was lost at times because of what she skipped.
All very good points thank you for sharing!
Haha! I LOVE the Starship Troopers reference. Greatest "bad" movie ever! I need to watch it again soon. Just a couple more days before we all get to see this show! I CAN'T FRIGGIN WAIT!
How dare you call starship troopers a great bad movie! Peoples lives were changed from it! It’s one of my most re-watchable films ever. I’m just kidding by the way I totally get what you mean.😂
Can’t wait for Thursday!!😭🤩
🎉can't wait🎉 0:39
I am only watching this remake to see how they interpreted THE Cabbageman in live action.
Hooray for Cabbageman!
You'll like it a lot
I honestly hope they make one big change: I hope they make the Aang Gaang sympathetic to the Cabbage merchant after seeing him around multiple times and actually help him out or defend him at some point. That's a change I would LOVE, because especially in THIS economy? I think we all feel for homie just trying to make a living!
Always enjoy watching your videos! You deserve so many more subscribers 😊
Thank you appreciate it!
Cabbage Guy finally gets his dues!
I'm so excited❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This video slayed harder than Cabbages🍵💅🏻
Ok the cabbage man part is highkey exaggerated. But yes, good character
Nothing is ever exaggerated from the cabbage man
Iv watched this show to many times to remember literally remember everything so I have high hopes nun can be as bad as the movie version
They gotta know about the movie that shall not be named! xd
Lol Albert Kim said he actively avoided the movie

They shouldn’t try to cater to new fans imo. When I am new to a franchise, I go find the source material and start there. Common sense. Show has been out 20 years ago next year.
Not sure where you get the idea in mind that my video is ever quantifying the idea that the show would have to cater to new fans
If it brings in new fans who wouldn't have watched the original series otherwise, what's wrong? It doesn't seem to even cater to new fans and seems like a faithful adaptation that explores a new side of the series and would encourage new fans to watch the original. If it was exactly the same as the original what would be the point of making it? And if just for the original fans, why not just rewatch the original in the first place?
Like with One Piece, I like that it's not exactly the same. The issue with the movie is that it clearly had no respect for the original in its changes where as this feels more humble, realizing the original is beloved for a reason, so if there are changes, they should expand on or provide a new way to look at the original characters, locations, themes, thematics, and choreography.
