In his prime he probably could have escaped. The problem is that he's limited on what he can use, all he could use was just Air and Earth. He can't use Water because there isn't any near him, and obviously he can't use Fire.

4:33 It’s not really a plot hole, as long as you put his death much earlier (eg a few centuries after Wan’s era). Simply, he was the first to master the art of Earth Bending, rather than the first to have the ability. For a while after abandoning the Lion Turtles, Earth Bending remained crude and unmastered as there was no one to show them how to do it properly, but the Badger Moles allowed Oma and Shu to do so.
This is what I've been telling my friends and a few people online. There's no other way to master an ability that is quite strong and unstable. By learning the technique from the badger moles, the bending becomes stable, malleable and yet beautiful (building homes, walls, temples, etc). And in later seasons we see that you can create almost anything out of Earth! ⛰
Yes it is a plot hole because the legend clearly says in the episode: "The two lovers learned earthbending from the badgermoles; they became the first earthbenders." While in TLOK, they show Avatar Wan as the first earthbender instead, which clearly indicates a plot hole between the two shows.
Hey, I wonder, Lady Tienhai originally lived during the pre-avatar era, but wasn't lady Tienhai's death during the time of Avatar Yangchen? I recall the king of that city stating to Yangchen that Lady Tienhai passed only a few days earlier, which caused General Old Iron to attack that city.

I would like to point out that the word die/killed is almost unheard of in the series. And there are passive ways they state like Suki asking Aang if he “did it” but that also leads to lines that sound worse. When Azula arrives at The Western Air Temple with an army behind her, Zuko asks what she doing there her entire line is: “Isn’t it obvious? I’m about to celebrate becoming an only child!!”

I got a idea if they want to restore the avatars. Even though their connection was destroyed, Raava still has a piece of the avatar since she merged with everyone of them. @@fica1137 hey dude deaths don't always have to be on screen or even have blood. The earth queen had all of her air sucked out of her and it's terrifying.
@Ayanokouji Kiyotaka yes
@@placeintheworldfadesaway5800 With no blood on screen deaths are extremely limited
Me: dad!
Dad: wHaT?
Me: let’s watch avatar!!
Dad: what is is about?
Me: uhh, you’ll see-
Dad: 👁👄👁
Me: it's Avatar! There can't be THAT many deaths
Me now: ... Dang this show is dark
I know that’s rough buddy
18:19 or, considering the design of the ship and the location of the bridge from which Han was thrown, probably died by coming to a dead stop against the ship deck
Can you make a video where you count every death in Star Wars
Yo movieflame, you're sick. Your videos are always high quality. Must've taken forever to put 21K deaths. You deserve more
Welcome to the Kill Count, where we are telling up the victims in all your favroite horror movies. I am MovieFlame and today we are looking at Avatar: The Last Airbender, a show that aired on Nickelodeon in 2005.
Hi movieflame , I am a big fan of Harry Potter , Star Wars and Marvel . You inspire me in some way while telling origins of many characters from different series . Continue the good work
Damn Morgan! The commitment is unreal
The fact that he said: "I like making these type of videos" about death
With that many deaths, I'm genuinely surprised that this video is not an hour long at minimum
I got a idea if they want to restore the avatars. Even though their connection was destroyed, Raava still has a piece of the avatar since she merged with everyone of them. The dark avatar turned them dark and the new avatar must find, cure, and remerge the powers. I’m not a writer myself I was simply offering up an idea as a way to restore the connection.
I haven’t even watched a minute. This mate says
‘This, is not a kids show.’
Me who watched it when I was 7......
Watch the vid there r over 21,000 deaths
@@Movies-ji9gw yeah 20,000 of them were all of the air benders
The research this video took is amazing! I wish I could like it a million times !
Who else wants to see Aang in his adulthood
We do need a good interquel series.
We need a late teen to adult Gaang animated show
Anag: I could never killed anyone
Movie Flame: the 50 or so people that Anag had killed at the North Pole
6:45
nope aang was the youngest avatar to die if we... count when azula shot lightning at him
112
I've been watching you for a while and you are very talented! I especially like the character timelines. I think you should soooo read The Lunar Chronicles its a bunch of fairytale re-tellings except sci-fi and futuristic. The characters are amazing and I loved them all so much. It is 4 books with a prequel and a novella collection, all by the author Marissa Meyer. Thank you so much!
This needs to get 21k likes!
The effort he puts into these videos is brilliant.
I’m sorry but your background theme is so iconic!
the hunger games: 128 deaths
harry potter: 104
avatar, a kids show: 21, 375
morgan youre a video making master keep up the awesome work
Oh shit. That’s MANY deaths
Even without the 20,000 assumed deaths of the Air Nomads (it was probably MUCH larger than that number) there were still over a thousand deaths that he had to put together in this video, dang he's dedicated af
I want to point out that lady tienai's death was actually during the reign of avatar yangchen, not before the first avatar.
Thank you for the time cards! I am reading The Rise of Kyoshi at the moment and didn't want any spoilers lol. This was a great video, thank you!
the poem i wrote for all the death's in atla and lok :
Roses are red
I'm never happy
The avatar is dead
That's rough buddy
All the children mothers died of sadness
Padme Amidala: finally a worthy opponent our battle will be legendary
“The attempt to kill Aang blew up in his face, Literally”
Dude I’m dead
You’re a legend bro I love your videos
Nooo... from 177 deaths to 20,227 deaths 😢 😭 That whole count made me feel so sad! Despite ATLA having so many passings, it also has a lot of happy and quirky moments. If you guys have read the comics you know what I mean. But the death toll, yikes!
RIP Uncle Iroh
and many other ATLA groups and seniors.
Amazing video. I love the fact that you put the deaths in chronological order.
Oma and Shu may not have been the first earthbenders but the first earthbending MASTERS (besides the badgermoles and Wan). At least that's how I interpret it.
Bro! Wow just wow. I appreciate the research u put into this video. I feel like we are still forgetting people tho... That's the sad part. Maybe they just haven't been covered yet. I know Azula is parading around as a spirit or something....
Spirits can't die. the one form earlier whose name escapes me died as she took human form, vaatu did not
Edit: nor did father glowworm
