Lovely motor the 280SL - I drove one a few times: white with a blue Pagoda top on it, manual box with a white Bakelite gearknob and steering wheel - and a chrome horn ring. Nice motor, though not quick: more of a lazy cruiser than a sports car. Very much the GT in the traditional sense of the badge.
Nice wheel rescue, Andy and the colour works fine. It's an elegant car. Great rescue, despite the tinted glass!
