The 'Mufti" also misrepresents scholars and madhahib scholars. And his concept of Sunni is 'Salafi'. Although there are differences between the current day Salafi and those who follow the Madhhab, 'Mufti' doesn't realize that they are all sunni. Imam Malik was a sunni. However i am of the fourth.....there is no denial about his knowledge. He has knowldge, and may be even a lot more than you. However, knowldge is not the reason to follow anyone. There are differences between the uelma upon what is sunnah but there is no disagreement in the uelma about the appearances of people like him. That is against sunnah and we may misinterpret the importance of sunnah, and may become the extremists from the other side. So my openion is that we must never follow him however at the same time never doubt his sincerity and Iman also, pray for his and our guidance . And for a general public, listening to him may misunderstand.
