Pure Tea Tree Oil, this is what I have used every time, and although I was prescribed antibiotics, I never used them due to the effectiveness of the Tea Tree Oil. It absolutely bombs the infection. Even at the open wound stage where the infection has caused multiple layers of skin to fall away it worked. I applied it every couple of hours.
Hibiclens, leave it on for 5 min (like, stand outside of the shower saturated and set timer) and rinse. I’ve had it a few times and it’s never spread and the bacteria dies super quickly. Fast recovery etc.
I've had staph twice now in the last 3 months, brutal. Tiger balm etc did nothing at all and the infection still came through and ended up with two big holes in my leg. I was prescribed antibiotics both times and they totally wipe you out, I had no energy for weeks. (also did my first fight just 3 weeks after the first staph) I just really hope I don't keep getting it as it it truly painful.
I appreciate the well-wishes. I've dealt with fee many, many times, it's an aspect of being in gyms. It is not best to take antibotics at this point. Besides the problems involved with taking antibiotics too often (an issue in Thailand), it will prevent the fee from coming to a head and expressing itself. Best is to apply heat, and to wait for it to come to a head. I've made the mistake of taking antibotics many years before, and it just keeps the staph infection from finishing.
@YourMakingMeNervous Not really. I don't spend much time worrying about things I don't have much control over. But, I also don't go to hospitals unless I have to, which could help.
Honey reacts with your saliva at normal bodytemperature and causes H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide). Hydrogen peroxide is anti-bacterial but its such a small amount and its only located in the back of your throat for a short period of time when you eat honey at roomtemperature. This means eating honey won't help with "fee" but if you have a cold for example it's an alternative to any other medicine
If you’re not going to take antibiotics you definitely want to get it cut and drained at least if you develop a large pus filled boil. Antibiotics are really terrible substances and can be really bad for you, so that’s understandable that you wouldn’t want to take it. I recently had a staph abscess on my back, it was quite painful and I don’t want to experience that again, thankfully it has cleared up but it has left a hard ring of flesh on me. Has this happened to you where the tissue becomes really hard? How long until that goes away?
I had a massive hard lump under the skin both times which I guess is the puss. I took antibiotics both times and honestly can't imagine not taking them if I get it again. The first time I had a 4x2cm hole in the back of my leg.....
@@christo6142 The body has its way of walling off the infection, it went away for me over time. Luckily I didn't end up with a hole in me but that sounds nasty. If I got like a small infection that didn't look like it was getting worse maybe I wouldn't take them but if it was bad enough then I would take antibiotics because that's scary what it can progress into
@@grimreefer213 Yeah I am pretty sure both times I got infected with staph was after I had scratched a small spot and then been training. I also have Psoriasis so am like 5-6 times more likely to get Staph. Obviously the first one I had no idea what it was but the second one I did. Still didn't catch it early enough or something becuase I still ended up with big hole in my leg....
I came across this by chance and it's prompted me to get treatment strraight away. Thanks. I'm now able to train again

Do you know if the post fight medicine is sold in the u.s.?
Why do you need to take the "post-fight medicine"? What's the point?
listen to her !!!!!!!!!
I use Defense Soap multiple times a day. Hopefully, that keeps the "fee" the fuck away from me. I hear onion and garlic extract kills staph as well.
Ehm drinking alcohol for recovery? Just use elbow and knee protection would be beneficial

What are the ingredients in the medicine?
Do not know, it's some form of an herbal laxative, very common all around Thailand.
How common is staph in muay thai and kickboxing? Is it common in gyms in the west and particularly the UK?
Its more common in hot regions. Also more common in grappling
Fee can spread on frequently cleaned places very easily since there are no other bacteria there to compete with them
get antibiotics before it goes out of controls. I wish you
a quick recovery

Sylvie von Duuglas-Ittu - Muay Thai are you at all afraid of MRSA?

Yeah that's fair and smart. I get these staph infections too and they're annoying as hell
You can read my parallel blog on fee (staph) here:8limbs.us/muay-thai-thailand/staph-vlog-notes-staph-infection-thailand
But best of all lemon juice.
I’ve heard honey is good as antibiotic.

gamerwoot you can rub honey 🍯 on the sight of infection on the body or you can eat it with bread.
