End?
No, the joruney doesn't end here...
Death is just another path, one that we all must take.
And all turns to silver glass, and then you see it
White shores and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise,
And that's not so bad.
The grey curtian of this world rolls back, and all turns the silver glass
And then you'll see it
White Shores
And beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise
And that's not so bad
Not bad at all
Well, I’m Back
"We set out to save the Shire Sam, and it has been saved. But not for me..."
I always thought that this was one of the greatest scenes in the entire trilogy. There's a lot of awesome cinematics, but in terms of feeling, this had me totally captivated
Dude, I fully agree, this part moved me the most of the entire movie. By far my favorite part of the movie. Now the Books, that's another story. >.>
Agreed. This part had me in tears
Yep, definitely the most striking scene, somehow
Mate I really have to agree.
This scene in the movie really made me think about how when we eat people are suffered greatly and when we sing people are dying.
Let’s have a minute to remember all those who we never thought twice about, we never thought as our brothers and sisters!
I absolutely love it too! Thanks for stopping by and listening! :)
Dude. Your singing in certain songs that I love brought me to 😭. Never stop making Masterpieces like this. God bless you
I all harry potter full collection all really it
Lol when Pippin sang in LOTR I was like "WHAT?!!!" #shockfactor
El Gingersnap I feel that bro I just rewatched the return of the king for the billionth time and pippins song gave me chills it was so short but had a ton of meanings behind it
when you then remember billy actually sang that song and has a released album featuring a full length ver
@@RageBearer WHAT? 😱😍
Just in case you missed the video yesterday, here's my newest video. The video has been shared over 100 times already on G+ can we hit 200? :) Share this if you love Lord of the Rings! #lordoftherings #edgeofnight
You have a great voice, anything Lord of the Rings is a win in my book.
Great stuff as always *****! Thanks for notifying me?
LOTR baby! Hey ***** visit our beautiful country NZ some time ;)
Love it! I was hoping for into the west, but this is wonderful :)
OMG!! I love it! :'DDD
Who else automatically likes all of Peters vids before even watching them cuz you know they're gonna be good?
Same here!
wish i could say the same :/ but i cant, but thats because im alot of a music critic lol, and any musician can do something that isnt very good compared to there other stuff. For instance, i personally wasn't a big fan of baba yetu, doesnt mean it was bad, i just personally didnt like it as much as his other content.
Vexurath That's very true and I see where you are coming from. Seeing how I am a musician going on 12 years, I have been brought up to critique myself as well as others. And it just so happens that I am pleased with all of Peter's music
Robert Kincaid yeah, because peter is an amazing singer. ^.^
Me, honestly, but I'm hoping he'll do another song with Alex G, their Disney medley was amazing
I really like this rendition because it conveys how much Pippin wants to be home at the moment. What he thought might be a fun new adventure is now a crazy, terrible mess out of his control and all he can think is, essentially, "There's no place like home." There's such a poignant bittersweet-ness here when he sings a song that he may have totally taken for granted once and now it's all he has to cling to.
Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!
Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!
Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We'll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!
OMG!!! When i read this in the book i didn't realize the song is from the last verses! Where was it from?
Here's my newest video from one of my favorite Series, Lord of the Rings: Pippin's Song - Lord of the Rings - Peter Hollens - Pippin's song. -- Sharing means the world for me! If we can get this puppy going viral on G+ it would be soooo amazing! Can we do it G+ gang? #lordoftherings #edgeofnight #Pippinsong
I LOVE it Peter!! It's SO beautiful! Words fail to describe how much I love it! I'll definitely reshare it as much as I can! You're an amazing musician, and I love your music - it makes me so happy to listen to it! :)
Peter where is the rest of that sound? This one sounded like the the Romans when latin was in church and I loved it. More please
Wow I love this song (*-*)
Wow mi youtube comment (1:20) :D
Wow thanks ***** You are amazing. Thanks Pedro Aguilar - So cool you thought that Sonara Gwasey !!
Hey Peter, LOVE your music! i didn't read all the comments, but has anyone ever asked you to do the FULL version of this song? as it's written in Tolkien's Fellowship of the Ring? It's actually called "A Walking Song", and Frodo sings it when he and Samwise are leaving the Shire for Buckleberry (Pippin is with them actually, but they planned to leave him there and continue to Bree where they planned to meet up with Gandalf. It's got like 4 or 5 other stanzas in the piece, and what Billy Boyd sings in the movies is only the last verse. Could you check it out and many put the full song to music in a video for us?
Thanks! you're awesome!
Are you kidding?! It's so awesome you enjoy my work. I'm honored you even care! You rock. best to you.
... oOOOHH!!! Chills!
Or maybe thats because my rooms really cold ( it really is)
But no really, that gave me chills.
(but my rooms still cold)
LOL
😂😂
😂😂😂
hoist the coulours from pirates of the caribbean please
I was watching the movie clip of the little boy singing hoist the colors and somehow that video brought me to these amazing videos. I think hoist the colors would be a great video :)
+TH4everbaby Watch his Pirate Medley.
Yasss
Mihoshika Furude That's a medley and he barely sung it for ten seconds. That's not remotely singing it.
I would like to see you do Mordred's Lullaby by Heather Dale,
I really enjoyed that one
Ooh, seconded!
YES PLEASE!!
Yes yes yes!!
Oooh yes I know this is a month old but yes :D
omg I hope he still looks at comments on his 2013 videos cause this song is my JAM and I NEED it acapella!
Goosebumps… I would love to hear a duet between you and Billy Boyd
Billy Boyd sang a song for the end credits of the Battle of the Five Armies. Look it up!!! It's breathtaking!
I could see the images of Faramir riding to his death (seemingly) as you were singing. Perfect.
This is my favorite song from the Lord of the Rings. Did you know that Billy Boyde actually took the words from the book and put them together? No one knew he could sing, and then suddenly, there he was, blowing everyone's minds. The book's song was beautiful and Boyde breathed life into it. I'm glad someone else could do it justice as well. thanks man.
After so many years this song still soothes me, haunts me. It's so inspirational yet so heart breaking.
Can't forget these lines from the moment I first heard them to the moment I will hear my last words.
It completes me.😇
This was by far my favorite song from the series.
probably one of the most eye opening songs in the trilogy both talking about what is had happened what is going on and what is too come
His voice gives me goosebumps. This song is so haunting and beautiful and you did such an amazing job with this. I envy your vocal range! You are absolutely flawless in every song you cover. Nice job, Peter!
I honestly didn't think I'd hear a version of this as beautiful as the one the one in the film. But my god this hit me. Bravo sir.
I love hiim ! He so cute~ :3
Koopa368 oh yeah that's cool !
@@aerenofgondor i see what you did there xD
This song gives me chills every time I hear it no matter where I am or who sings it
Oh my God, so chilling. Absolutely amazing.
Wonderful.. I would love a crossover with you and the wonderful Pentatonix "Ever turning spiral and a wheel within a wheel!"
Oh lord.....This gave me such chills....Why can't this song be longer, it was so beautiful....
When Billy Boyd did this, it was just very sad with what was going on in the movie. This version feels like your very essence is being ripped out of you in total despair.
This is a beautiful, phenomenally vocalized song. You are incredibly talented (but you probably already knew that). :)
I just barely realized that Pippin's song was in the BOTFA trailer! Wow, I'm slow. :)
This song... The feels! It takes me back to the first time I saw The Return of the King. And Faramir is wounded... and Denethor doesn't care... I need to stop. I'm gonna make myself cry.
I've searched the net for covers but this voice is just like original I love it
goosebumps from 0:00 to the end
I... got chills the first few seconds... Dude, you're awesome!
Art is the most appropriate way to describe this, and we need more in our schools.
In germany we would say "Gänsehaut"! This is such a beautifull song!!!
This song allways gives me the goosepumps. Whoever sings it. Though, it got really strong with your voice o.o love it!
I like it.I LIKE IT!!
Oh Peter, I can't tell you how much I love this HUGE LOTR fan and has met Billy Boyd..Pippin himself
Luckyyyyyy !!!
Peter Hollens, you say that you are very thankful for us to support you... You almost seem...suprised I may say. But do you realize how talented and original you are? Cuz it's crazy... We will never stop supporting u Peter ❤️
I would like it very much if you did a Doctor Who song. I love your work and it keeps me sane at my work.
Have you tried the song "May it be"?
It's a LOTR song.
You raise me up? Unless you've already done it, then I'll find it and listen, because that's my favorite song.
It ceases to amaze me how much control you have over your voice. You can literally sing any song and make it sound amazing.
I'm sure you'l know this by now, but the song is actually called "The Steward of Gondor" according to the soundtrack
Still, even if the lyrics are from the book and written by tolkien, the actual music belongs to howard shore, and that's the name he gave to the song
this song was more from the soundtrack than the books (remember in the books they sing it in the fellowship of the ring, and it's frodo who sings it)
Actually the whole track is "Steward of Gondor"... this includes the whole bit of instrumentals leading up to, the song itself, and the stuff after it. Now Pippin's song itself people are calling "Edge of Night", like "In Dreams" that is located in the track "The Breaking of the Fellowship", to talk about that one particular part.
Roccondil1 Well, I now stand corrected, didn't know that, thanks for the fact
Could you do The Doctor's Theme from Series 1 & 2 of Doctor Who?? Pretty please with fish custard on top??
when pippin sang this in The Lord of the Rings, i was blow away and when Mr.Hollins did it, i fell in love with the song.
Tears, every time. Easily one of the most emotionally powerful moments from the trilogy. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to listen to it again, Peter. :-)
you shold totally do Song of the Lonely Mountain from the first hobbit movie. awesome song.
He did.
no, he didnt. the song at the end credits of the first movie.
Joey Moll He did... Search for the song. Type the words: Peter Hollens Song of the Lonely Mountains.
Joey Moll He's done it, it's called 'Misty Mountains Cold'
He said ''Lonely mountain'' not ''Misty mountains''. Song of the Lonely Mountain is the one that plays during the credits while the other one is the dwarf song.
One minute of song and the rest self advertising, brilliant
Amazing. Sent chills up my back remembering that scene. Your voice was amazing
I get chills whenever I hear this!
Just found your page.. You good
HOBBIT 3 !
We're waiting for ya!
Amazing. I love this song and your version is brilliant. Thank you.
Oh my goodness.. Heavenly..

As metal head I just replaced my Manowar playlist with your music. I could easily go to battle listening to this. Amazing voice sir. TY for sharing your gift.
I am Norwegian love it respect... stay alive !
This is a great song, although I DO wish that the 1:15 second song didn't have a 2:26 second outro. :/
Great work as always :D Can you sing "The Last Goodbye" from Billy Boyd?
He did that a couple weeks ago. Not sure if you've seen it yet :)
Thank you. No I didn't see it :D
I've searched for this song for years...and you did it and I'm adding it to my labor list. My husband is going to be happy too.
One of the more touching songs in cinema.
You probably aren’t, but Peter Jackson/Howard Shore should pick you to be the next Hobbit movie’s sing song guy like Neil Finn and Ed Sheeran. You should do a dwarf song sung by the dwarves of the Iron Hills in the Battle of the Five Armies to lament Thorin’s death. You don’t necesessarily have to be doing it Acapella but you should definitely write it and be the lead singer.
Peter please do a cover of "Careless Whisper" from George Michael.
I know you would rock this.
thanks
OMG I would literally crumble into a million pieces. Careless Whisper was my father's favorite song. He told me before he died that this song reminded him of my mom and the fact they couldn't work out their issues and eventually went their separate ways. He told me that he loved her and that this song would always be theirs. 😭😭
Melissa Walker I grew up with this song. one of my all time favorites. it has many meanings depends on how you may look at it. it's a mystery and a resolved song at the same time. I understand why your mom and dad would choose this song.
I know Peter would nail it if he would make the cover for it. let's cross fingers on this one :)
Pippins song remains one of my favourites. Thanks for sharing
As soon as he said the first line, I got shivers all down my spine
Harry Potter pleaseee >.
Oh my gosh!!! I think I'd just die with happiness. ☺
its actually called edge of night
It's known as both titles. :)
no YOU are a boss my love!!
Peter Hollens you are the best, singers like you need to be known!! Not only can you sing other songs, you can make it your own and completely original
will u do the song carry on by avenged sevenfold
No Crimson Day!
no avendged sevenfold
avenged*
Dakota Altizer Seriously? Crimson Day by Avenged Sevenfold.
i just started to listen to them
Oh and... would you mind doing the MLP FiM opening for all us bronies? ^.^ That would be epic.
Hauntingly beautiful
Goodbumps! Goosebumps everywhere!! This was always one of my favorite song in Lotr and this was beautiful !
Ok, I found a men who can sing better than Peregrïn Took. I can die in peace.
YES YES YES YES YES YES! This is my all time favorite song from Lord of the Rings, and I like pretty much all the music from it, so that is saying a lot.
Thanks J
OMFG. Stop with these LotR covers. My heart can't take it.
Peter Hollens....you sir are a far better artist then the air headed "artists" that are so popular now.you sir are a master of voice
Don't pay any attention to the nay-sayers ... you are spectacular, and "old content" can often be the best. You are a gifted genius. You and your songs touch my soul like no other. Please continue to bless us with your gifts.
Peter..... Thank you for keeping music raw and amazing. This brings me hope for society. You rock man!
HOLY CRAP I just got chills! And that rarely happens!
Mercy I have not listened to this in a while. Haunting...beautiful
esta parte de la película me pone la piel de gallina cada vez que la veo...
This song is one of the reasons the third film is my favourite.
most spine chilling song from lord of the rings done by peter hollens ? *slowly nods* yup life completed.
When I saw this in your playlist I about passed out. I am in LOVE with this song and the way Billy Boyd sang it. You did a really fabulous job on it! Thank you!!
Such amazing talent...i'm blown away..... I've listened to as many songs as I could find by you, Peter Hollens, and............I'm stunned, awed, inspired, amazed, blown away, and filled with wonder. God bless you and your talents, sir.
who knew pippin could sing like a freaking badass!?
Has no one asked you to do a Halo theme yet? Just discovered your stuff and am blown away, which is odd because I listen to 90% death metal. But yes, a Halo (the game) theme would be stupendous with your voice!
This song is simply beautiful.
Wow... that one gave me chills....
This song reminded me of the one from King Arthur where Bors' wife sings... I think its called We Will Go Home. That would be awesome to hear from Peter Hollens
FYI to everyone who has not read the book: These lyrics come from a song the hobbits sing while leaving the Shire, in the hope that soon they will be back in their cozy hobbit holes- the full lyrics to what's commonly called "Upon the Hearth the Fire is Red" are really cool, plus the Tolkien Ensemble did it under "A Walking Song (I)"! Look it up!
Just so we know that that song wasn't always depressing. :)
My nerdy self just exploded! Wow Mr. Hollens! I get so excited every time I see a LOTR video!
Pippin's song made me cry in the film. But your version can get excited again ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
That was a beautiful rendition of that.
Peter, I love your voice. Thank U for all this emotions. THANK U VERY MUCH!
