No other source I've found about the Headrush is as in depth as Doc's. If you own the Pedalboard or Gigboard you're definitely missing out if you haven't gone through his library of videos.
I've had my Headrush Pedalboard for a while now, and 80% of it is easy to understand with no help because the user interface is so well designed - this fantastic video fills in the gaps... Excellent job - subbed

It ist just a pleasure to watch your videos - pragmatic, easy to understand yet they show all the bits and pieces you have to know. You also show how easy it is to dial in a proper sound in comparison to the Helix. Jason Sadites videos are great, but man, that is a lot of know how and work to dial in a certain tone!

I just bought the Prime series and all I can say is this. I own over 100 pedals and have had countless processors. This one is EXACTLY WHAT IVE ALWAYS WANTED!!! BEST 1,200 BUCKS I EVER SPENT
It's Saturday and mine is here on Monday. Nowhere else have I seen the hybrid mode....different rigs with stomps below them. Thanks exactly how I'll set mine up. Great video.

This is very helpful. I messed around with the Helix at the store and I hated how much hassle it was to do simple functions. I didn't even know this pedalboard existed, and now I'm confident to hop in when I pick one up.

Awesome tutorial. I think you may have persuaded me to plunk down a grand for this baby. It really is an awesome board. I heard you mention version 2.1 in the video. I can only imagine it has gotten better now that they’re up to 2.3. I’ve been looking at all the multi effects pedals and I really feel if the tones are good and there are enough IR’s this is a really great buy for the price. I don’t think the Helix is as user-friendly and easy to navigate as this pedal. And I love how almost everything in a rig is assignable and named automatically. Thanks for your time in making the video and showing people how easy this beast is to use. Keep on rocking!

I'm using a Mooer GE200 while I save my pennies for a Headrush, but I have to say, you have the best videos I've seen on the unit. Plus a lot of the tips along the way translate to any digital unit.
Exactly correct. I teach concepts that can be applied to ANY guitar setups. Give me a Helix, Axe FX or anything else and I can make it sound good. And now hopefully others can as well.

1st rule of Headrush: Set the gate threshold to -120dB i.e. as low as it'll go. You'll keep all the subtleties of your playing. And anyway, you should hear the noise coming from an actual cranked up Plexi. It's rock and roll. Live with it!

Have you ever done a review of the Line 6 Helix Floor or Helix LT? If so, which one do you like better in terms of sounds that more resemble the amplifier models? Thank you for posting this.
Really informative video. I have recently got a gigboard and figuring out how to use it and would be great if you could do a similar video on that. One thing I am trying to understand is how to load IR’s and can’t find any detailed step by step information for a novice laying out which Hz, which file to put them in, how to sync properly with a Mac, and how and where to load third party presets. @@DoctorMcFarlandStudios Aren't a lot of the features on your tutorial applicable to the gigboard except for the switches of course as the gigboard only has 4 but I assume some of the tutroial on the pedalboard switches can be applied to the gigboard. Yes or No?
@@spada60 Yes of course. The only difference is I like to use Rig view on the Gigboard and just have different variations to switch between. I don't really worry about scenes on the Gigboard.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios got the pedalboard and loving it. No word of a lie from a brand new clean slate it took me less then a couple of minutes to get an good solid rig going. Amazing.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios Must say when I received it there was a bit of noise. I bought mine second hand so the previous user probably messed with the settings. I loaded a clean slate and built a rig, Adjusted the noise gate and very quiet indeed.

One question tho was hoping you could help with delays at all.... can you dial in mms on all delays or are some only set by 1/4 etc etc or 598, 350mms etc etc? Just trying to get 'the edge tones' but having trouble running more then one delay and getting timings right with different delays Hope that makes sense.. and again awesome work... subscribed 👍
In the Delay parameters there is Sync on or off. When set to off you can dial in the milliseconds. When set to On you can dial in the subdivision. For Edge type delays I have two delays with one set to 1/4 and the other set to 3/16. Just tap in the tempo and you are ready to go.
Great video. The Headrush company should use this video instead of the poor videos they had at the beginning with a guy that can hardly play the guitar. Your videos are much more in depth and perfect for active guitar players that own the HeadrusH pedalboard or Gigboard. I suggest you make an in depth video exclusively on the looper function of the pedalboard. Keep up the good work!.
Fantastic video Doc! As always you are top shelf when it comes to the Headrush! One question though, does the HR have a setting similar to the sag and bias in the Helix? This is the one thing I wish the HR had and it might be in there and I just dont know where or what it is!
KevinIsIn5623 I think the Headrush reproduces the sag naturally in the amp models. It’s baked into the sound. Less parameters to fiddle with makes it easier to dial in a great tone much faster.
Hey this is a super cool video! The most thorough! I wish you continued success in your channel. I have a couple of questions, between the gigboard and the pedal board how many presets can I create and store? Also, which in your opinion sounds "better" meaning and authentic sounding the LIne 6 Helix LT or the Headrush? I am thinking of getting one of these. I am really just a bedroom musician who practices alot, to ultimately join a rock band. Thank you again for posting this.
You can create as many presets as you want. The Helix and Headrush both sound great. It comes down to workflow. The ease of use of the Headrush is my personal preference and the amp tones have a very natural feel to them.

Angel Martinez they both sound similar. I like the workflow of the Headrush.
The Headrush amp models sound more realistic to a tube or valve amp than the Helix LT from what I heard, but the Helix has better sounding effects.

In the Delay parameters there is Sync on or off. When set to off you can dial in the milliseconds. When set to On you can dial in the subdivision. For Edge type delays I have two delays with one set to 1/4 and the other set to 3/16. Just tap in the tempo and you are ready to go.

Great video. The Headrush company should use this video instead of the poor videos they had at the beginning with a guy that can hardly play the guitar. Your videos are much more in depth and perfect for active guitar players that own the HeadrusH pedalboard or Gigboard. I suggest you make an in depth video exclusively on the looper function of the pedalboard. Keep up the good work!.

Fantastic video Doc! As always you are top shelf when it comes to the Headrush! One question though, does the HR have a setting similar to the sag and bias in the Helix? This is the one thing I wish the HR had and it might be in there and I just dont know where or what it is!
KevinIsIn5623 I think the Headrush reproduces the sag naturally in the amp models. It’s baked into the sound. Less parameters to fiddle with makes it easier to dial in a great tone much faster.

Hey this is a super cool video! The most thorough! I wish you continued success in your channel. I have a couple of questions, between the gigboard and the pedal board how many presets can I create and store? Also, which in your opinion sounds "better" meaning and authentic sounding the LIne 6 Helix LT or the Headrush? I am thinking of getting one of these. I am really just a bedroom musician who practices alot, to ultimately join a rock band. Thank you again for posting this.
You can create as many presets as you want. The Helix and Headrush both sound great. It comes down to workflow. The ease of use of the Headrush is my personal preference and the amp tones have a very natural feel to them.
