    UPDATE: I recently did a video on another way to sublimate prints without worrying about pressure and it's fine right inside the printer! Check out the video here -

    This is awesome! I've been getting really into 3D printing and Cricut designs during 2023 and I decided to see if I could sublimate a 3D print. I am so grateful that you went though this testing and proved that it can work and look amazing! Definitely love the process and the fact that you seem to love Cthulu models as much as me! 😂

      Thanks! I’m hoping to make more content like this in the future. I got a little sidetracked but I hope to post more this January.

      I was thinking of using sticker paper and then doming with resin to do something similar

    Have you guys ever thought to sublimate on 3D print? What print are you going to try this with? Leave a comment below with your plans.

    Thanks for making this. It's a great alternative to Hue Forge imho...

      You're welcome! I do have HF and am slowly figuring out color aware but I will admit this is faster. My recent video where I sublimate as it's printing is even easier too.

    I saw a video where they taped the sublimation print to the 3d printer bed and the nozzle/filament supplied the necessary heat and pressure. Very slow 1st layer. The paper does stick but I imagine soaking it in water would help. Might be worth trying on a glass bed.

      I did a video using that technique a few weeks ago. 😊 Check out my link in the pinned comment.

    Thanks for the video! I am a 3d printing nerd and fairly new to sublimation. I am using PETG and got a good result but after a couple hours the sublimation seemed to get absorbed deeper into the material and was muted. Is there a way to control that? I used 385f 30 secs slight pressure. I considered coating with a poly acrylic to see if that helps. Thanks

      That does happen from time to time. Honestly, giving it a coat with resin or poly acrylic will make it much more vivid again.

    You can try to stick image to 3d printer plate and print over image😊

      Yes you can! I did an updated video on this a few weeks ago! Check our my pinned comment.

    Someone in the 3D printing group I'm in mentioned this. I don't even know what sublimation is 😅

    Couldnt you jusr use a domestic iron instead of the mini cricut press? Larger surface area, adjustable heat etc. just dont forget to turn steam off 😂

    • @LabcraftStudio
      @LabcraftStudio  16 дней назад

      You could but you may see spots from the holes on the iron's bottom.

      Yes everybody loves prints that take 20x as long and where 75% of the material goes down the poop chute...

    • @LabcraftStudio
      @LabcraftStudio  26 дней назад +1

      I personally don't send a print to the machine unless I get my waste down to less than 50% and frequently smaller than that if I can. I also ship my poop to recycling.

      @@daliasprints9798 It really doesn't add much to the print time. With newer printers running 5-10x the speed of older ones, there is virtually no difference, and anyone with even a remotely good slicer can set it to actually build a model with the excess when changing colors, especially if you are making something where the color doesn't matter. I see it used often to make things like filament clips and the like, so there is little to no waste.
