The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame ceremony is typically filled with label executives and other people from the business side of the music industry. You'd be lucky if most people in that room could name one of the acts on their label. Such people are only there for whatever money they can make off the hard work and talent of the musicians.

I disagree. I think Billie’s voice is perfect for the genre.
People can say a lot about Green Day, but they we're honest to his roots all the time. Also, they bring Punk to the mainstream twice (Dookie and American Idiot): just think in all the people who went deep and discover Punk and a lot a amazing bands and artists.

@@gerryattrik4410 - It was painfully obvious. I know you weren't asking me, but I have been playing for almost 28 years. Within a few seconds, all I could hear was that droning sound. It was distracting me for the rest of the song and I'm sure 95% of the people listening noticed it as well.
I never realized how much weight Billie lost during the time between Warning and American Idiot. Compare how he looked here to a performance during the Warning era from 2000-2001. He looked like his 1994/ Dookie self here.
