New subscriber here!, but I’ve been watching your channel 4 about 1yr and a half; maybe 2yrs.? I remember when you were sent that SG style baritone. I thought it was sick then, but now…. It’s even better than before.! I’m loving that bat 💩 crazy tone.🤘🏻!! That’s pretty cool bro! The SD Slugg is an insanely high output pup.! Love the amp and pedalboard set up. Guyker seems to be killing it with their pups, tuner’s, and other exsessories/hardware.?! Nice chopps brother. Until next time…. Stay safe, Stay metal, and don’t forget to Riff.?! Oh yeah, Happy Holidays to you and your family. 🤘🏻🎸😎🔥🪓👍🏻🥂🎅🏻
@@tyrannosaurusriffs ha! This one I feel like doesn’t look as long as the LPs they make. Those seem like bass guitars. It is long though, but the shape fits the size really well.
@@harryanderson7282 yeah. More treble and less signal going to ground can help for the clarity for sure! I like this a little darker since at 48k raw resistance it has the potential to get harsh. I might source some 500k pots and no load tone pots in the future to ensure minimal capacitance. I think my LTD pot was like 520k and without a tone pot, it had a pretty open sound. For the doomy stuff the slightly darker tone seems to work.
@@michaelj.anderson1116 they are on sale at Guitars Garden. But still only available in the US. I am surprised they don’t sell out though! They look better in person than on the site though.
@BaritoneGoatStudio I would buy one instantly if I hadn't just bought 2 new guitars in the past couple months. I bought the epiphone prophecy in olive green...thanks to your video on it, and I also bought the Jerry Cantrell wino. Very happy with both but I still want a baritone.
@@BaritoneGoatStudio The prophecy plays and sounds better but esthetically I love the look of the wino. I'm a huge fan of red. I took the time to dial in my sound for both and they are both awesome sounding guitars. Strangely, I prefer the neck pickup on the wino for rhythm over the bridge. The bridge is a little too muddy and dull.
Me too mate!!🥂 It’s pretty siiick now that it’s all blacked out. Although…. Overall it’s an awesome guitar from top to bottom. Stay safe, Stay metal, and don’t forget to Riff.?! 🎅🏻👍🏻🥂
@@MetalheadOv666 yeah. That might still happen. They are an inexpensive part and I should have already had one on hand. I tried to at least find a black nut and washer in my stash, but no luck.

@@bane7228 the slug is one I will keep around for a while. I am fairly impressed with the Guyker stuff so far! The tuners are their biggest sellers I think, but their bridge hardware is very well made.
I'm in the middle of upgrading the Buckethead Barritone Firefly. I pulled all the hardware and electronics, revealing massive holes through the body from where the crappy kill switches were. I think I'm going to use washers for all the pots and three-way just so it all matches. I ordered Duncan Nazguls, and I installed a set of D'Addario auto trimming locking tuners. I still need pots and a harness. The project is on hold as I enjoy my brand new Framus Teambuilt Devin Townsend Signature Stormbender....
@@KaiDown it is a feature I didn’t utilize at first. Once I hooked up the pickle, I was pretty sold on keeping it set up like that. There is a parallel blend knob and a phase flip switch for the loop. Makes it super tweakable.
I always recommend replacing the pots and wiring because budget guitars usually have garbage components. You don't have to replace them with anything really expensive - I'm sure you can find decent pots and shielded wiring at a good price.
@@MGC-1977 I tend to do it most of the time. Surprisingly these have decent looking caps and are full sized Alpha pots. But I have found even the recent CTS and Bournes pots I have bought have some wild variability in resistance. I do want to run some coil splits and maybe go with a 1meg pot for the slug.
@@BaritoneGoatStudio I think 1 meg for the SD Slug would be awesome! I've done that with heavy pickups before and had good results. Btw are the cavities shielded?
Very nice mods! 👍 I am glad you kept the stock pickguard; the white ply stands out and provides continuity to the neck binding. 😉 What gauge strings does Firefly ship the guitar with? Did you replace them? If you didn't, what would you go with for Drop G#/A?
From what I can tell, the strings it came with were 13-62 daddarios. They had colored ball ends and a wound 3rd string. The low string was at least a .062 gauge. And I think the light baritone set from Daddario (13-62) is perfect for drop G# or A. To go A standard or lower you may need to try the medium baritone set (14-68). I am considering trying drop G with a set of string joys that have a .064 gauge which might work.
This guitar is just beastly. SG and baritone are so my jam. I really wish I could buy one of these in Canada.
I hope they figure it out. I know that imports and such work differently up north. But they would definitely sell.

Thanks! I definitely had an idea after they sent me this and decided to just go for it. The FF stuff has been pretty solid so far! Always riff man!

One thing I've found that really helps the downtunings are 1 meg pots.
