  • Here I describe the problems I had getting the HQ kingswood wipers to work.
    paint cover = bad grounds.
clean the paint where switches mount to the dash. make sure you have good grounds. If your harness is on good shape then your wiper motor should work. If your worried about your wiper motor being stuffed, follow along and I'll show you how to test it.
    remember!
    grounds, grounds, grounds.

This is good info, helped me out before i got to desperation point, earth the switch and the motor respectively to body. I wouldn't have thought of the switch being earthed at the screw points, handy to know. Thanks heaps mate. I still have the brass earth strap attached but unsure a tiny screw will do in the existing hole, maybe a screw/nut thru the wall would hold better in my circumstance.

All good @JAStheACE, sorry if my videos are a bit sketchy and unscripted, I'm not a cinematographer. I don't like the editing part of the videos. I just like trying to show other people the problems I encounter and how to fix the problem. If there is anything else you need to know. Just let me know.

I only realised about grounding the switch and the wiper motor because I thought I was smart and painted the aluminium dash/gauge holder and the switches. I then had to scratch off the paint and polish the switch screw faces and dash gauge face to get a good ground. Everything worked perfect after that. Wipers parked too. I also deleted all holes from the firewall, even the brass strap hole for the wiper motor ground (dumb ass) looks great but I then had to run the separate ground wire as you can see in the video to make the wiper mororvwirk atv2 speeds Still looks neat though.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I sometimes repeat myself as I don't write a script on what I'm going to say. It's pretty much whatever comes to mind at the time. Lol

Beautiful build. Can I ask who did the wiring harness. Jim.

      Hi @jimDseries i had a company called
All auto creations (fou d them on ebay) build it. I sent my old engine bay harness (lighting and engine) to them. They reuses the firewall plugs and headlight plugs and everything else was new. Came out great all ugs correct wire size and colour correct. Everything fit where it was supposed to be and fired up first go. I modified it to fit the Mercedes electric power steering pump and the davies craig electric thermo fan controller.
They also supplied the body harness and tail light harness. I refurbished the under dash harness myself. As I bought a used one in really good condition. Thanks for watching.
