No Kidding! At 51, after 30 yrs of being sloppy strummer-boy on a 12 string, I recently decided that maybe, just maybe if I sold myself long and slowed down that maybe I could do this licking and riffing and soloing stuff I kept hearing about. After about a week I was like "Really dude!! You always thought this was hard." I still have a long way to go but I've got that beginners excitement again. I really appreciate good ol' Bernth!
I keep watching this videos since they are super interesting but I just started playing like a month ago and I'm nowhere near being able to do any of this. Hopefully I'll get to this level at some point.
Hey dude! This is coming from someone who started last christmas. If you put the time in, you’ll get results you want! Practice, practice, practice. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. I’ve already went from playing 0-3-5 to some of my favorite Avenged Songs, by putting the hours in 🤘🤘
bro can u show me how can i mute the lower string while going upper ones?? all the vidoes of all guitarist i have seen always show only to mute the upper string with the palm but never show how u mute the lower ones ..like lets say i m playing first string then i go to play third string obviously my index finger will be still on first string so how i mute the first string now i cant do it with palm cause it messes up my playing then..please make a video on that
Where to rest palm or hand when playing open note at low E string? I watch your clip and understand how to mute lower string with palm mute. But I wonder where to rest my hand when playing low e string. And how should I move my hand from there to string when move to higher string😢
Is straightening the ring finger and pinky bad? I see it quite often in your thumbnails with a big X. Should i fold all my fingers for the picking hand?

You’ve made me take guitar lessons. I’ve been taking them for six months now I’m almost 50. I wish I had it done this when I was a kid.

Any player can play these exercises! You just need to slow them down to your speed, you'll still get a lot of benefit from them
The tone reminds me a lot of Rush
Thanks for the tip >: )

Just slightly roll the thumb side of your hand away from the string.
@@vorpalblades like, lift it up to the air?
@@SHADOWNS27 yes, but very slightly.
It doesn't take much movement to effect a change.
@@vorpalblades thank you very much, I will try!!!
What would you recommend me taking? im mostly a rhythm guitarist and want to do better
