What a beautiful car, and the driver surely the most underrated in f1 history
Up to 1500 bhp. Like Berger said "It takes a man to drive a car like that".
@@azynkron only few laps in qualifing trim, in race trim about 700/800bhp
He’s not under rated, Nelson in his prime was as good as anyone!! Three world championships with two manufacturers at a time when Prost, Mansell, Senna, Alboreto, Rosberg we’re competing too.
Very fine driver indeed.
I think you missed the point about underrated. He's underrated because of those achievements :)

Yes, I agree with you. Nelson was popular in the UK even at the height of the Mansell/Piquet tussle at Williams. I recall seeing a huge home made banner at Brands in 1986 saying “We still love you Mister PK!” 😀
30 years ... Gosh, I remember the 1983 season. Good times. It is exciting to see Nelson Brabham driving that year. We Brazilians are proud of our champions strain.
Nelson Piquet, The Legend
Fantastic!!! The best driver of all times!
Que saudade de assitir o Nelsão. As corridas eram pura emoção. Os carros quebravam. Muito diferente de hoje. Tempos bons que não voltam mais.
Mi gran idolo despues de Prost. Grande Nelson.
The most underrated and legendary driver of all time with one of the beautiest beasts of all time. Such a bliss!
O melhor piloto brasileiro na F1 !!
Still one of the best looking F1 cars of history in my opinion, looked like nothing else!
The most Beautiful F1 car ever made 😍
Also McLaren mp4/5 André march 90,91
Also 126C2
W11 for me, and I hate Mercedes
This video's a treat. I'd always loved the cars of this part of the first turbo era, especially this one. Absolute legend.
Sem dúvida é o carro de fórmula 1 mais belo que já foi feito.
The most underrated F1 driver in history of formula one
why? nelson drove like he drove wasn't simply better and not underrated at all
Why underrated? He was one of the most successful and well paid of his time
One of the best looking F1 cars ever made, that dart shaped profile is awesome.
great driver. great car. good to see them both up and running.
What beautiful car. What talented driver.
What à car! Beautiful!
That is such a beautiful machine
Nelson Piquet, my idol
Don´t hate me, i respect every driver, Senna is the number one of my list, but man, this kind of cars were a beasts, also, Nelson Piquet is a great driver!
Piquet > Senna
O respect as well, but Piquet was the best in my opinion
@@danielsantslv4565 yes
No need for hate. Piquet is number one to me. But we all agree that we are fortunate to have such legends like Fittipaldi, Piquet, Senna and de Ferran.
I love how that boost is just bam!
To me this will be forever the most beautiful F1 car ever built.
It's Megatron!
As fast as he was going, he needed the BIG rear wing for that extra downforce ( and it looked way cooler ).
Looks like Nelson really wanted to go a little faster, concerning that first acceleration. But that first may have frightened him a little :P
totally agreed!
@@blitsopel6485 after Imola 1987, he was wrecked for sure.
Power and beauty in harmony
Thanks for uploading. Bit of a character but Nelson is still a triple WDC who beat many other highly rated drivers (Prost, Senna, Lauda, .). I still remember Piquet sliding the BT52 around the Detroit circuit during qualifying coming within inches of the concrete barriers. Maybe not as great as Senna or Prost, but Piquet and Lauda are under-rated IMO.
read history books and then telling me again.
Pity the f 1's of today don't look anywhere near as good as this car . That era the cars were works of art compared to the ugly things we have these days
yess what a great design indeed
Does anyone knows how many BT52 still exist, I don't think Piquet himself has one. As far as I know he has a 52 and a Williams FW11B, which hangs on a wall at his house in Brasilia.
Nelsão é o cara!!
If I remember correctly , it was designed with a rear bias on weight distribution to help traction
+david mason I think it had something stupid like 80-20 or 70-30 rear weight distribution!
Gives you an idea of how powerful those engines were! damn!
well he is driving the most powerful formula 1 car of all time, the 1.6 in qualifying spec could hit 1600bhp... i reckon an easy 700bhp in this spec
its 1500bhp qualifing trim 1.5litres. 700/800bhp in race trim. 1.5litres.
was he trying to get some mileage out of that one??
Don't worry, there are some Senna fans out there who appreciate other drivers/teams what have you...
shadowdawg23 I happen to be a very big Senna fan. But I can definitely respect other drivers and teams. Especially Piquet and Brabham.
INCRÍVEL É QUE ESSE CARRO "NÃO ENVELHECE" NO SEU VISUAL.
Obviously didn't want to crash into a wall!
F1 fans be mad about the sport switching from v8 to v6 while most of them didn't even realize that this car won the championship with a 4 banger
Stand on it, grandma!!
1:20 boom! Supercharger goes whack!
i wonder if these remakes have carbon monocoque
I know right, stuck records. Senna wasn't even in F1 when this car was winning races yet sure enough they crawl out of the woodwork.
Even 50? Nelson gets 61 in August...
that's why he's driving very carefully lol
Maybe he got frightened during the first acceleration.
He is not even full throttling. When the turbo kicks he stops accelerating!!!
"Racing", he's barely moving. v
Great look, bad sound engine.
Que lento, debería haber ido mas rapido
Stunning
