The Cardoza hotel would've had to pay a million dollars to get their name mentioned that number of times on the Stern show back in the day. That fight gave them the plugs for free.
@@whiteroses9485 Yeah, and I'm sure Howard did feel some obligation to give them a plug, considering Jackie did some schnerring. Howie was good at subtly doing it...like that time baba booey got him the sega for his kids to play and it turned out they're not even a sponsor, so he had to go on air and talk about them out of a sense of duty

How is a bonus episode way better than the regular weekly episode?
Jackie is a hark back to when comedians were very funny, but also very warm with an audience. It isn't like that nowadays,. but I can see it coming back one day. Good approaches, like good ideas remain there to be used. Jackie is a great person, knows that money isn't the answer. Howard, on the other hand...
Jackie may be a hacky comic but his tenure on the show was inarguably the gold years.

@@jamie.777 I also found out recently that the character played by Mariel Hemingway (wh is 17 in the film) in Manhattan went to the school Epstein taught at when he was younger...shurely shoes mistake?! Makes you wonder if Epstein knew Woody a lot longer than maybe even this suggests....

I hever heard Jackie much. Never a huge stern fan, mostly from no access to him until XM. Some early AM stuff.
Jackie is apparently a good writer, just wasnt worth the 300k he requested as a raise back then. That's what I heard him say before.
He left stern and like shuli that makes him a winner, of sorts.

I always thought that Shuli could have sat in the Jackie chair.
He sucks and there's nothing funny about him . Even his podcast is all but dried up . He's the worst comic ever and just sucks .
Shuli & Jackie have good chemistry but Jackie not wanting to open up about the stern show makes him completely uninteresting.
Jackie made Howard in the 90s he wrote 90% of his jokes passing notes Howard is so lame now
Jackie didn't write 90% of Howard's jokes. If you listen to the show at all, you can tell exactly what Jackie wrote. Most of Howard's jokes and responses are immediate. There was no time to pass a joke on paper, which is how they did it in those days. Jackie's jokes were 30 seconds to a few minutes later, and Jackie laughed hysterically to 'sell' the joke.
Howard is older now and his show show is more cerebral now, and his audience is more diverse. It would be weird if he was still doing the fart joke show at his age.
Good job shuli....you did what stuttering John has been trying to do for years..and that's have a great interview with Jackie....John you couldn't even come close to ever having Jackie on your show because your a hack and hacks do what your doing ...no material, cyberbeggjng and zero content...good stuff shuli..

Shuli wasn’t that great, he was just lucky that Howard Stern hired him to be a writer. Jackie was very quick and when Howard needed a quick comeback Jackie was there. Jackie had the comic timing that Howard needed on the radio to be funny. Jackie’s biggest mistake was letting his ego get the best of him and not being patient. If Jackie just accepted the first deal and waited for Howard to go to Sirius he would of got paid like Fred and Robin, also all the plugs like Artie got. That’s why it’s F Jackie.
He was delusional thinking he was even worth a quarter of what they paid him . Howard predicted once he left the show he will never make even a third of what he made on the show . Jackie was made maybe a few thousand if that in the 20 yrshe left. He's the biggest fool ever and did it all to himself . Don't forget several years before he was let go he held out 6 weeks on strike at home for more money . Greedy bastard now he gets shit instead of millions he could still be making and basically doin nothing from home like fred and the rest. Howard is never returning to the studio ever .
