The 1990 Turtles movie was the best movie experience I've ever had! Being 12yo in 1990 I enjoyed it massively, the grittiness, darkness, humor, music, the atmosphere, that was all so very fascinating! I've never had a better movie experience! Matrix in 1999 comes close though ;)
Oh man, I can’t even imagine the amount of work that went into this! I love that you’re able to find all these locations even though many of them have totally changed over the years.
At 16:24 to the middle fat left of the screen you could see it says ‘erh’ ... living in Brooklyn myself and always passing by I always thought it looked like it , and it reminded me of the TNMNT movie.... i was recently watching this movie on Netflix and wanted to confirm what I saw in this shot and here it is ... that’s awesome , but yeah could have been a simple breakdown with just that scene , but liked how you broke it down !
I was born in 1980 so this movie came out when I was 10 years old, and I saw it the week it came out in theaters, still one of my favorites to this day!!!
The ORIGINAL Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie will forever be my favorite childhood movie. Not just that but my favorite TMNT movie. It's never been topped and I doubt it ever will be.
Would of been great if he went to Shredder's exterior building hideout location. The building is gone but apparently it's either two locations. It was either on southern tip of Roosevelt Island or further East near the old Pepsi factory in Hunters Point, NY.
Hey, your friend Jorge is my friend Jorge! He's a great guy! We just went to the LA Haunted Hayride together. This is a fun video. I'm also an 80's baby and love those ninja turtles! Great video. Fun to see we have a mutual friend :-)
I’m from New York and I have never been able to see the spots you take us to. Thank you so much. So cool. Great work you do. Now go home and shleep well!
So awesome man. Isn't it crazy how this is still the best Turtles movie and as they got bigger and spent more money it just got cheesier and less gritty and awesome? This movie is just saw raw and real. Wish they'd do another in a similar fashion. Just amazing. Although I did still love the 2nd movie as well lol
Bruh that shot with April scene at 12:30 really hit me hard in the feel goods bruh it feels like a life time ago things have change, i really shed a tear to appreciate The Classic time of this movie much love bro...80's baby
OH MAN. TMNT!!!?!??????!!!!!?!?! Every time I saw a man hole cover I immediately yelled to my mom,....”Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo and Master Splinter are down there!” Who still has their original Turtles??...🙋♂️ With all their weapons intact?....😬
Dude, I love your energy & enthusiasm. I had an NYC trip planned back in June so i could visit these places, but Covid got in the way, so now I'm revisiting your awesome tour instead. Thanks for making a great video, and I'm looking forward to Part 2!
Howdy from Australia. Another great filming location video :) So awesome! I stayed at that trump hotel a few years back, I had no idea it was from the movie? Damn :( And i walked across the street from the movie like Raphael Double Damn. Oh man i love this movie! damn damn damn.
Heck yeah bro, I'm fellin' this. I'm from Stockton, California and was born in 1983. I'm currently in Manhattan on vacation. Thanks for this awesome video.
Hey Justin! 👋 I'm such a HUGE fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I even owned a TMNT handheld game that I played alot!! It was cool too see all the filming locations from the movie. I'm also a HUGE fan of the Ghostbuster movies! I own both 1 and 2 on DVD. Could you find the filming locations of Poltergeist 2 and 3?? Like the house in the 2nd one and the high rise in the 3rd and underground cave where Kane took all those people. It's probably gone though 😕😕
THANK YOU! Thank you so much for giving us this. TMNT (especially TMNT 1990) has been such a huge influence in my life all these years, and it still is today. TMNT with a 70's-early 90's NYC vibe will always be the right time and place for this story. I need to visit these spots ASAP. More TMNT/NY videos please!
Thank you so so much for this video. You really took me back to my childhood here, i would have love to visit these locations myself. The first Turtles movie is my all time favorite movie, that movie holds a special place in my heart. This was really interesting, again, thank you for taking us with you on this epic journey to see the locations of the original Turtles movie. I got goosebumps when you got to the subway where Raph is saving April and when you went to the place where Raph is meeting Casey. So cool.
This is awesome. The memories. I was 9 when this came out. I watched the tape hundreds of times. Good work..I wanna add tho, you sound like Shaggy from Scoobie Doo
Great job . Nice work. Not sure if you mentioned it, but if you pause the movie when Raph, picks up April in the subway, you can see half the sign of the subway on the left.
Bleeker Street seemed to almost be a running gag of sorts during the early turtle boy years. Between, “11th and Bleecker? (sniffsniff) Nope! This is only 9th Street! Get it?!”, and the comic mini-arc from the EARLY Mirage years called, “The Bleecker Street Boys” (I want to say it was one of the Pre-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stories, when Raph still had his tonfa). Justin, you have nooooo idea how giddy you made me making this video. I am a MASSIVE Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fangirl, have been since day one. And yes, I also love the current cartoon. It’s all Turtles, and the entire Turtle-verse is beautiful to me. Favorite turtle? Donnie. Period. Donnie is best turtle. Favorite movie version of him? “Secret of the Ooze”. I, “blame”, Leif Tilden and Adam Carl. They gave the Donnie suit so much LIFE! Fav tv version? 2012 Donnie, with Rob Paulsen. 💜😍 Close tie for second is 1980’s Donnie and RotTMNT Donnie. The SASS in both boys, though I’d keep sharp objects away from Rise Donnie. XP
I actually just met Steve lavigne over the weekend he worked on the original cartoon and was the inspiration for Michelangelo the guys that created the turtles lived here in New Hampshire
a good friend of my brother tried out with the Japanese company to be one of the turtles. didn't make it but ended up as one of the foot soilders. Pretty cool Great movie
I saw the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie at the General Cinema in Griffith. Had to wait in line to see it. Plus my brother was having a fit cause he wanted to see it. I think my mom didn't want to take him so my sister ended up taking him and went with them. I saw the second Ninja Turtles movie at a different movie theater. The first movie had a great soundtrack. 9.95 is a great tune. The guy who played Casey Jones was on a show called Chicago P.D. He was on the show till he left and his character was killed off.
"Skimmerhorn street" bro. I know it's crazy. Kind of like colonel. Lol. They actually filmed the new sequel with Meghan Fox in a large abandoned building directly across the street from my Sanitation garage( I work for NYC Sanitation) in Brooklyn. Got to meet and hang with most of the crew. The only people allowed on the block during filming was the movie crew and us sanitation workers, to get to our garage. That large building has since been converted to an actual sound stage, and now lots of things film there. It's pretty cool.
This was my dream video. Thank you for doing this. I visited the actual 11th and Bleeker St. (nope, this is only 9th street), on my first trip to NYC as a 28 year old man-turtle. Was disappointed about all the North Carolina sets I found about soon after. Cheers!
Sooo friggin cool that you went to these locations!! It really makes us wanna see the TMNT movie again. One thing though... from a native Brooklynite, we pronounce Hoyt-Schermerhorn Station as "Hoyt and Skimmerhorn." Lol crazy way to say it but that's how it's pronounced. Think of it like Houston St being pronounced as "House-ton" lol. Us crazy New Yorkers lol.
Great work on lining up the subway shots . Love it
He gives you so much credit and you both are the best👍
We almost mis identified the stairs in the subway but those missing tiles were a dead giveaway
I was born in 83 so this is my childhood. Awesome video! Thank you!
The 1990 Turtles movie was the best movie experience I've ever had! Being 12yo in 1990 I enjoyed it massively, the grittiness, darkness, humor, music, the atmosphere, that was all so very fascinating! I've never had a better movie experience! Matrix in 1999 comes close though ;)

omfg I love how the subway scene was used for both TMNT and the Warriors, my 2 all time favorite movies!! Thanks for this :)

I live 5 hrs from Wilmington, NC. Been to the farmhouse 4 times.
TMNT 1990 will always be my personal favorite. Awesome job doing this video !! Your voice is a mix between Shaggy from Scooby Doo and Michaelangelo.😃
Lol, I heard hints of 90's TMNT cartoon Donatello!
I hope there is a part 2? Secret of the OOze defined my childhood as much as part 1 did.
if only i could be 1/10th as excited about anything as this dude is about ninja turtles
And I thought I was obsessed with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Lol. Well done thoroughly enjoyed it
TMNT is my all time favorite movie. I have the hugest collection. Thank u for this. Well done
I enjoyed running through Manhattan with this guy.
We kids of the 80s had the best childhood ever. All movies and cartoons were just epic. God bless Y'all wonderful people.
How exciting to see the parts where they filmed.
Would of been great if he went to Shredder's exterior building hideout location. The building is gone but apparently it's either two locations. It was either on southern tip of Roosevelt Island or further East near the old Pepsi factory in Hunters Point, NY.

i like how when it starts raining, Justin suddenly pulls out an umbrella from nowhere. TV magic! 8>)
I’m from New York and I have never been able to see the spots you take us to. Thank you so much. So cool. Great work you do. Now go home and shleep well!
I had literally said this week that I gotta show my 2 year old daughter these movies!!! Awesome job!!! Gotta love the Justin!
They did a good job of making north Carolina look like NYC.
Wondered where it was shooting never knew. Great movie.
Justin thank you dude I can be having a really bad day.but when I watch you're videos makes my day a lot better very uplifting
Back in the 90s i was 7 year old 😊
I’m happy I sat and watched the entire video.😎😁👍🏽
I'd like to see the filming locations in Wilmington, NC. I thought the whole thing was filmed here. One of my friends was a foot soldier.
Ninja Turtles, The Warriors and the Bad video all sharing the same filming location!? That's incredible!
i loved the keno impersonation on the apartment entrance
Bruh that shot with April scene at 12:30 really hit me hard in the feel goods bruh it feels like a life time ago things have change, i really shed a tear to appreciate The Classic time of this movie much love bro...80's baby
OH MAN. TMNT!!!?!??????!!!!!?!?!

Who still has their original Turtles??...🙋♂️
With all their weapons intact?....😬
-Also still have original “Movie Edition” ...all rubbery and lifelike.
This guy is awesome! I love how in depth he goes, covers every place, is extremely enthusiastic, and compares the movie shots with the present shots.
Also, in the shot where Raphael is running and rolls goes over the cab, the passenger in the cab is the actor who actually plays Raphael in the movie!
Dude, I love your energy & enthusiasm. I had an NYC trip planned back in June so i could visit these places, but Covid got in the way, so now I'm revisiting your awesome tour instead. Thanks for making a great video, and I'm looking forward to Part 2!
10:16 r u trying 2 tell me HOW 2 DO MY JOB????????????? That was hilarious hahaha
Howdy from Australia. Another great filming location video :) So awesome!

I love this episode!! Thank you! I'm that 80's baby too and fully appreciate TMNT
God bless you sir!
It's literally my favorite film of all time.
It is severely underrated.

whoa! I've been to Hoyt Schermerhorn! It was also used in Coming to America!
This is one of the best videos ever!
The Casey Jones in the 80s cartoon was like Clint Eastwood and was the very best version. My favorite character.
Thank you so so much for this video.
You really took me back to my childhood here, i would have love to visit these locations myself.
The first Turtles movie is my all time favorite movie, that movie holds a special place in my heart.

Again fantastic research Justin ☺
I got this movie on vhs for Christmas when I was 9!
God, I love being a JustinScarred subscriber!
I thought the building that Shredder falls off was in New York. Guess I'm corrected. The same building was used for Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
This was so cool! This is one of my favorite movies!
For me the New York County Supreme court building is something I always see in Law and Order. Great video.
I actually just met Steve lavigne over the weekend he worked on the original cartoon and was the inspiration for Michelangelo the guys that created the turtles lived here in New Hampshire
Love this!! Still one of my favorite movies ever, and such a fun era of NYC.
I love watching your lineup videos!

8:38 Fun fact: the guy in the back of the cab was the actor Josh Pais who played Raphael
The filming location videos are always so great!! Next time you go to NYC you should check out filming locations from the Sam Rami SpiderMan trilogy.
