      But i also relate with Lake so much she has some struggles that oof even more the fact of her being called s criminal for just existing without even hurting anyone

    I have to say that book 2 was my favorite. While I love Tulip and her journey on the train, I can not express how much I loved Lake and Jessie! They are great friends and seeing their relationship and all they went threw pulled at my heart strings and Lake's character development is the best out of the whole show. Plus, Allen Dracula is adorable and has possibly the best name in all of cartoon history

    I cant pick honestly between book one and two that is better, one has a story about how tulip meets atticus and one one, who helps her through the train and she eventually accepted her parents divorce. The other has mirror tulip who wants to leave the train to leave the train to live her own life, and we also see other train cars too. Secondly, I think its cool that they decided to have a season based on mirror tulip rather then someone we haven't seen before. In conclusion, I love both seasons and how they show different cars, and how she got away from the mirror police, and how her and Jesse grew together.

    Book 1 and Book 2 reminds me of how some see Shrek 1 and Shrek 2. Both the originals are awesome movies, but rarely do sequels come to be as great as the originals. It's also brilliant how they both subvert in their own ways, Shrek 2 focusing on the after "happily ever after", and Book 2 focusing on the why of the train (as others have mentioned).
    I really like how the two main characters are identical to eachother, but completely different in personality. It reminds me of Star Wars the Clone Wars where the Clone Army is identical yet still their own person. Kudos to Ashley Johnson's performance, and to the entire team who made the series!

    Personally, book one is my favorite, just because of the whole concept of divorce, definitely my favorite concept of the series! The themes of book one just seemed more personal, and hit closer to home for me because my parents also got divorced when I was around the same age as Tulip and I can personally say as someone who has gone through that whole ordeal, that this show puts it into perspective more realistically than I've ever seen on tv! The dinner side arguments were so relatable it was scary! And that's why I think this is the greatest show of all time, it doesn't shy away from the realities and hardships of real life but it does show you how you can cope with them! Another theme that you won't find in any other kids cartoon was death and even suicide, indirectly, if you can put two and two together! I don't think Amelia climbed up on the rooftop of her college campus to enjoy the view after the sudden death of her husband, Alrick! I believe she had every intention of getting down a much different, quicker way! Thankfully the train swept her up just in the nick of time! I really liked Book 2 and 3 too! Who else can't wait for book 4?!

  • @Yipper64

    book one was more emotional and intense but book 2 was a bit more fun imo. It depends on what you are looking for in a show. Its good this show can do both.
    i prefer the more light-hearted but still gripping story of book 2.

    • @xaraxchnidx
      @xaraxchnidx 4 года назад +5

      pupypup i disagree in that book one was wayyyy more lighthearted than book two. have you seen the scene of lake killing mace? or lake not being able to get through the portal at first with jesse? there were only a few really dark moments in book 1. personally i think i like them equally as they both have different and incredible features, like the mystery of the train in book 1, but book 2 absolutely takes the win for "most dark"

    • @Yipper64
      @Yipper64 4 года назад +2

      @@xaraxchnidx Eh, that was two scenes, it was more "dark" yeah, but it wasnt quite as emotional. We weren't exactly attached to the specks. Divorce was a heavy HEAVY theme of the first book, and impacted the main character emotionally throughout the whole thing. The theme of Lake's identity being tied to the train was an interesting one, and while the idea of your entire being not even being real, and just a reflection of something or someone else is pretty intense, it just isnt quite as emotional, at least not as it was portrayed in this season. That could get pretty deep, but they also had to deal with Jessie's plot, which also had it moments, but yeah idk if "I shouldn't fall to peer pressure" is the same intensity as "i need to learn how to deal with my parent's divorce"
      So when it comes down to it, you had about the same amount of intensity split between two characters instead of dumped all on one, which i guess makes it *about* the same...

    • @toontrooper4103

    I like them both about equally. In terms of character flaws, Jesse’s could be summed up in “too much of a pushover.” That’s it. But Tulip was more “she’s upset by her parents’ divorce, because she remembers all of the good and none of the bad of when they were married, and her anger is making her lash out at the people she loves.” But then you have MT/Lake who is “she’s been told this whole time she’s not a real person, and she’s even angrier than Tulip. She’ll do whatever it takes to be seen as human, whether that’s murder or fucking over someone else’s chance of getting off the train.” Of course, all are still lovable characters.

I did like her towards the end tho. The whole fighting bad guys thing was pretty cool. I was also interested in Jesse but I feel like they’re didn’t touch on his story enough. The only time I feel they did was when he was watching that video of his brother. I needed more of that, like flashbacks. Despite that, I enjoyed learning more about the train. Seeing how people enter the train was so interesting. If they make a Book 3 I wanna see more of an antagonist where they can’t stop their number from going up and just have a lot of trouble.

  • @iforinsignificant

    Well, to be honest I can't pick out of these two seasons. Both had their share of positives and negatives. Book 1 felt rushed and the subsequent episodes often felt disconnected. It also seemed like the more interesting cars were glossed over but when it came to the character stuff, this book hit it out of the park almost every time. The story was better overall even though it was disjointed.
    Book 2 on the other hand was more cohesive and flowing in terms of story but I didn't like the characters as much. Lake was a bit too selfish and Jesse was a pushover and I don't think Lake grew enough throughout the season, she just achieved her goal of getting off the train. And also, the reflection thing was a bit of a plot hole. I mean, all the reflections by this logic were their own different person, what about them? And since she had been with Tulip her entire life up to that point, does Tulip not have a reflection anymore? And how exactly is she a denizen of the train if she's been with Tulip from the beginning? I couldn't really connect with this stuff and it just felt weird to me even though the overarching message of being forced to be someone you're not was well portrayed... The world building of the train's workings was also awesome to see.
    All that said, season 3 was easily the best! And I say that after having absolutely zero interest in the protagonists/antagonists at the start. I just hated them and couldn't believe they would focus on them for the entire season so I was just watching to confirm it and planned to drop it after said confirmation. Boy, was I in for a ride!
