SERIES SUMMARY
The Alpha Jay Show reviews animation episodes, animated TV movies, cartoons, and other things as a main series. I have reviewed many things from Fairly Oddparents to SpongeBob to Teen Titans Go to The Amazing World Of Gumball and many more. Expect a fair, open-minded and non-pandering review of whatever episode I use. Bear in mind while I do use copyrighted material, it is highly likely that my content falls under the legal defense of fair use.

What did you think of The Black Market Car?
Yes
OMG I LOVE YOU NOTICE ME ;-;
It was a great start to a new set of characters.
Kind of a rough start in places, but I have full confidence in the rest of the season being better, if not stellar in its own right.
Alpha Jay Show I liked it
But then, everything changed when the mirror nation attacked.
👏👏👏
I really like this first episode. True, it wasn’t as hooking as The Grid Car was, it’s still giving more of the train and all the weirdness that’s inside it.
I think the main difference between this and The Grid Car’s endings are in terms of tone. With The Grid Car, we were confused along with [Prime] Tulip. She steps onto a mysterious train, ends up in a bunch of crazy cars, and nearly dies at the claws of a weird roach/worm thing. Given how fast things went and how it ends with Tulip saying she’s getting off the train, it leaves you wanting more.
I think The Black Market Car is, in a way, a reversal of it. We know some things about the train and what’s going on. We’re following [Mirror] Tulip, who’s forging her own identity while getting away from the Mirror Police. Things go by pretty quick with the action until she gets to the tree car and meets Alan Dracula and Jesse. This is where the two episodes differ, in my opinion- *the ending notes*.
In one episode, the ending is shrouded in mystery with what’s going on and where things go from here. In the other, it’s a lot more relaxed and not as tense. It feels very light in terms of stakes (mainly because the true conductor is back) and mellows it out.
Also, we need more Jesse songs. He’s gonna be a fan favorite, I just know it.
I agree with what you said but what exactly was the "stakes" of season 1? All she wanted was to make a cart for herself and didnt really want to hurt others she was just heartbroken and running on impulse. Felt more like a quest than life threatening stakes, meanwhile Mirror Tulip is being hunted down and may be sanded into nothing which is death.
@@TrxstMonty well, the stakes imo are that Prime Tulip can get killed by the Gnoms or never return to her family. The Conductor wasn't really part of the overall stakes, more so the linchpin in Tulip's development and coming to terms with her situation.
SmashLime if that’s the case then everyone who steps outside has those same stakes since those things are still there and is part of the word. They attack what the see and Tulip never had a goal of stopping them, just getting home.
Also Tulip never returning home is also not a stake since the train doesn’t trap people and their way home is based on who they are as a person. If there was a time limit or a number you have to avoid that’s that’s a different story but even that could be applied to any passenger also, especially Amelia who will most likely die on the train for her own behavior.
I really liked both. With first season they’re introducing characters gradually.
Book 2 however, assumes you’ve seen Book 1, so we might be looking at Atticus in book 3 or one-one or something.
Me: hmmm MT would be metal tul
My brain:METTATON
Bruh
OH YES
or mirror tulip *side eyes*
Mirror Mettaton. Metta Tulip
O H Y E S
After watching the first episodes I think Jesse’s problem is that he's a people pleaser
hit the nail on the head lol
That’s what I thought and I’m sure that I was right
I can't tell if "MT" sounding like "Empty" is intentional or not.
It is
No
It’s mirror tulip
@@k3nper this may blow yer mind fella but (M)irror (T)ulip
@@k3nper
Yes, and the initials MT sound like "empty" ....
Jesse hands down made one of the best first impressions I’ve ever seen in a cartoon.
Bravo man, I love you already.
I think that they're supposed to be called the "flecs", like shorthand for "reflection". Not sure, but "flex" is a bit weird for a name.
You’re right
HI PHIL SWIFT HERE TO HUNT DOWN THE SLIVER.
I wish we could see more of the Kaiju Car.
I think you're the first person who asked for that
Iggy
Watch the short!
You mean the incredibly normal car?
I do like the villains of this season, Both of them have very contrasting personalities yet they work together so well opposite to Jessie and M.T.
Loving Book Two so far. The dynamic between Mirror Tulip and Jesse is really great. So excited to see where this new season will go.
I think The Family Tree Car did it a lot better, granted that had more time to do so.
It’s definitely been hit and miss for me. Book one was such a hard act to follow but Book two has still overall a quality successor.
Adam DeVree I liked season 2 more than season 1, which I found a bit clichéd.
7:28 its funny because you can tell that its Tulip in a way, in her nature, she is Tulip, but her experiences changed her personality into whoever this is now.
But if Mirror Tulip has a reflection, does that mean there are infinite Tulip reflections?
have you ever put two mirrors facing each other and stood in the middle? yeah...
Its all MT just multiple times.
the real question is can the flecks appear in MT's reflection
@@conotto3555 obviously not the reflection of MT's skin(?), but other reflective surfaces.
@@conotto3555 People can't jump out of people. That's silly.
We really need Dennis to explain the mirror world.
My thoughts on the book 2.
Fun. Full of emotion, etc.
However, I’m seeing a formula. At episode 7 or 8, there’s an emotional twist. I don’t know if it’s just writing, but that’s just something I noticed.
Also, how dare one-one scares me.
Hmmmm. Well now.
MT: I’m NOT Tulip
This guy: ...sooo, anyways I’m gonna call her Tulip from now on
Lake: am I a joke to you?
I forgot how abruptly the episodes in this series end. It caught me off guard.
No spoilers but The Toad Car is the first episode that really gripped me like all of Season 1 did. I will say though the show still has that hook in me where I can’t wait to see what’s next.
I literally just realised that Lake is technically a reflection but wanted to be her own person whereas Jesse could be his own person but needed to stop acting like a reflection of those around him
I’m pretty glad that one: MT gets more character development and two: so far there’s no horrific creatures from season 1😅 at least I can watch this season
What about the corrupted corgis
I was worried the lack of a mystery aspect would hurt the show but I found myself really enjoying it
This was hands down the best so far! :D
Well, there is two episodes out currently tho.
@@TheAlphaJayShow *Smirks like American McGee's Cheshire Cat* Is that a problem?
Imo this season ramps up hard, getting better the further down you go, with the Toad Car and the last three episodes being some of the best in the show
I like that you’re covering it real time this time. Also, I like how much attention they pay to the reflection thing with the black paint.
Without going into the second episode, I liked the first episode. Mirror Tulip is on a journey on her own, at first she's aggressive and probably thinks she has to be on her own as to not endanger anyone. But you can see that she has a kind and softer side when it comes to the deer. She enjoyed the companionship between them, even if at first she was put off by the idea. Then enters Jessie, someone who's overly friendly and quickly invades her personal space, I'd get annoyed too if someone immediately tried to be my friend without knowing anything about me. Plus, the deer was her only friend and it looked like he was making fun of her friend, putting sunglasses on him and making up a weird name for him. I could see why she reacted the way she did and was being very standoffish. Arguing with him for the sake of arguing and pushing him away, she did the same thing with the deer, pushing him away, but the deer persisted, much like I'm sure Jessie is going to end up doing. I think it set up that Mirror Tulip doesn't trust people and has a very stubborn and standoffish personality combined with Jessie who I can see trusting people too easily, but that's just my whole two cents on it, I look forward to how the rest of the series progresses!
Gonna disagree with the Tulip attitude part..
Also assuming some things but..
I think the reason Mirror Tulip has that constant inconsistency of wanting to be independent and wanting to keep a friend is because while yea she has been having her own ideas as a reflection for a long time. She never had a chance to explore the ideas herself. I see her as a brand new person not knowing what personality suits her. It's def different thinking and experiencing. And as we saw she has a hard time staying in one place because there is always the risk of being found because of a small reflection she missed. (Like u said about having her guard down) So (assuming) she hasn't had time to herself until the forest cart where we cannot see a reflection appearing anywhere she finally has a chance to explore friendship. And when Jesse came she was afraid of having the deer taken away as she is always running away from people taking away her own freedom. Again she is a new person and I kinda get her being a bit "bipolar" with her attitude because she doesn't know how to react with this new situation and new person.
I really can't wait to see how she grows as a character and to see the new carts
Alpha Jay doing what he does best. 👍
I was sad at first from missing the first two episodes (as I almost forgot about the premiere happening all this week) but this makes me feel better. MT and Jessie both got better in the episodes after, so I don’t feel I missed much! Plus, I knew of Alan Dracula because of the trailers.
My favorite episodes thus far have to be The Toad Car and The Parasite Car.
ALSO LIKE, how does a reflection have a reflection? Does Mirror!Tulip have a reflection counterpart, Mirror!Mirror!Tulip? Or is her reflecting on herself just an infinitely recursive loop of herself within herself and not a reflection per se. Oh hell I think I just figured out the ending of this season.
Quinn Alexander no😅
Youre awesome!!! Love your videos. Been subscribed for a long time and I have really loved watching your content grow and hear your opinions.
Thank you so much Tuesday. I hope to bring you more great videos coming into 2020!
Best Show Ever, I've Learned So Much And If Season 3 Is Possible Than Boy Do I Wish There Was A Plot Were Someone Wants To Destroy The Infinity Train While The Other Is Trying To Stop It
It kinda reminds me of that one adventure time episode "Another Way" when finn dosen't want help from anyone and ends up hurting everyone in the process
Not gonna lie MT looks like eleven from stranger things but metal
This show is basically portal the animated series
Yea the flex use the mirrors and reflectif things as portals
They stepped up the edge but gave even more mystery.
I wasn't book 3
Totally ignored the black market selling of passenger tapes.
We need to spread awareness of this show cuz Cartoon Network is not advertising book to like they should
So I watch Episode 2 and with the premise of what the Train does. I can confidently say the MT (metal tulip) is use as a character shifter since Jessie has his problems too. MT compliments Jessie that actually help him reduce his number, though Jessie's personality still has potential; I'll keep my judgement to myself since it's still too soon to know what is Jessie issue are
If only Over the Garden Wall got a season 2 :(
I was thinking the exact same thing I want Over The Garden Wall back.
JINX that’s me it has comics
Well it did tell its story and it got wrapped up, but yeah.
It didn't need one. I mean, Infinity Train Book One also didn't need a second season but I don't feel like OTGW should explain more of its old folklore mystery
season was great. i even enjoy it more than the first.
I didn't think we would get this till at least the middle of the year and the first episode aired on the first, what the
Hang on didn't they already make episodes for season 2....or is the date for this displaying wrong?
Ahah~ Finally I watched an episode BEFORE Alpha showcased it. I'm intrigued to see what they will do with this season but I worry as to where they'll go if a third season is called for.
I think the first two episodes were meh for me.the family tree car showed the contrast of the two chracthers.I also kinda sense a ship between MT and Jesse. The grid car though was such a very dark firstepisode for the first season, while the black market car was kinda more of action and less dark stuff.Hopefully this season will prove my wrong and will end better
I hope we see Atticus again in season 3
same, i got more attached than i'd like to admit
I swear if One-One doesn't appear again, I'm gonna start a riot!
I don't think we would get this till at least the middle of the year and the first episode aired on the first, what the
I hope at one point the flex watch as she meets someone she just met and then the flex chase them until a dead end and they take the other guy because they are helping her and then her personality changes
*MT rips off sleeves and cuts hair really short*
Oh my God, Ripley from Alien 3!!!
SEASON 2 and 3 ARE WAITING
So if she’s afraid of reflective stuff, why is she not afraid of herself?
They cant jump out of people.
I'm happy Infinity train is back
(Contains some spoilers)
Honestly can’t help but feel there’s some sort of connection between MT/Lake’s whole deal and the experiences of some minority/marginalized groups, more specifically the ones that can “hide”/are “noticed” from their behavior, like LGBT community and people with “invisible” disabilities I mean, the flecks want to kill he for being different, she’s different as she doesn’t conform to what is expected of people in her society... they don’t approve of her behavior for going outside of What is expected, even though she wasn’t happy living the way she was “supposed” to, and it would be- and IS wrong to force her to be what you think she “should”be
I feel it’s probably closer to lgbt community
5:58 nice reference
So... Mirror tulip gets a reflection... But not tulip?
It's not MT anymore it's Lake that's what she chose to name herself
Wait it's out already?!
This is my FAVORITE book!!
They couldn't decide if Jesse or Mirror Tulip would be the main character, so they punted and now it's a buddy adventure.
Jesse better grow as a character or what was the point of having him in the first place.
CTback you can have more than one main character
@@gracekim25 Sounds like Tulip's VA was still under contract and they had to find some way to fit her in.
looks like a cool show! ill check it out
I can see why people love infinity train book 1 and have mixed feelings about book 2 and it's main leads lake(metal tulip)and jesse
Honestly, I really liked the first episode of Book 2. Great video, though. I can't wait for your full review!
And then 7 months after he never did the show review
Exactly
I prefer season 2 more than season 1
Reality is just a reflection in eyes of the beholder.
It's the Marianas web car
Is it me or is this train kind of a kidnapping business
Season 2
Actually book two
...how can mirror tulip have a reflection in her hand? She IS a reflection. Same goes for the Flecs.
i watched it
i cried
What is the soundtrack called?!
Eyy Im not late :"D
Ty for commenting!
Rip season reviews ):
Bro If She wanted to get away from them for good she'd paint her body
They cant jump thru her as is
Wouldn't she die or something?
@@inspector5122 she doesnt explain it she just said that's not how it works lol
@@shazam1205 I meant spray painting herself lol
My biggest issue with Lake is that her whole arc is about her trying to live life as she wants and be who she wants to be, but we never actually see who she wants to be. We never see her go through any trial/error of things she wants to try. She picks her new look instantly instead of trying out different styles and changing outfits every few episodes. She finally has room to explore what she wants to look like and try our several options but she never does. And we still don’t really know anything about her, I cannot name a single interest Lake has. We never see her enjoying a new hobby or discover a special talent or anything. I’m also surprised we never see her pondering on what name she should give herself (an option most people never actually get) and wondering if it would fit.
I feel like it was a weird choice to have 2 episodes with the same overarching narrative within this show, but I was alright with it since the second episode made it more interesting and that MT became more of a helpful influence. I loved the second season as a whole and I absolutely loved how it developed the characters. That's just my personal thoughts on it since I was able to watch a lot of the episodes all in a row.
Would you say it's kind of like The Past Car and The Engine where the first episode acts as a part 1 to the next episode and watching them back to back improves their faults?
Also I always found Infinity Train S1 to be great because it was in digestible and bingeable bits that you enjoy the show better because it's all there
All the episodes are on CN :/
The seasonal review never came😫😩
I finished all the episodes, have you?
The episode was kinda disappointing ngl. I hope they do something good with the show in the next couple episodes cause im kinda losing interest.
7 months....any day now
Why is it called Infinity train book 2 and it doesn't have books of infinity train
But is it werid at the same time because it has "book 2" and no book
Ik but is it werid it says that
Good news, you're wrong!
Thank you Railfan, very cool!
Why does Mirror Tulip have a reflection as SHE IS the reflection...
Where is more infinity train?!
Book 3
>watching season 2 before season 1
I sincerely hope you don't do this.
FUCK DID I MISS IT
I’m going to be honest, I’m not a fan of our main cast. None of the three come close to the charm of the original trio, and so far they’re just kinda... annoying. I hope they improve, I loved last season so much, but this season really doesn’t got me that much.
I totally understand that.
Fair enough. I loved the last season too and it may be hard to top that, but I'm still interested in seeing where this new season goes.
I fell exactly the same
MT X DAT BOIS NAME I FORGOT
honestly jessy was boring. and annoying, he had no personality in the beginning, he became more..... tolerable later in the season.
i connect with MT/ lake more, i can understand the urgency and frustration of not getting the answers you want.
I am so excited for Book 3
I really don't like Jesse..he's a bit overbearing
Sir or madame, i must ask if your perspective of this character has changed by the time the season two has changed
If it did, five me a respond
@@julianmartinez4719 I apologize my dear chap. As I have neglected to view the other episodes.
Unpopular opinion: just from the first 2 episodes, I don’t like MT.
Update: her character definitely improved as the season went on. She’s cool now.
Me too I thought the next season would be about her friend she has been talking to at episode 1 but I shouldn’t have assume that

I was already unimpressed by the first season, and now this totally random new direction is just irritating me. I don't give a flying @#$% about 2lip [or Jessie. I hate him and want to break his arms] and was only interested in the origins of the titular train -the only core and consistent part of the series, but apparently these coked up creators aren't in any way interested in that and just want to devote too much needless time to a randomly conceived spin-off character
