At the rate Grace is going, I feel like she will get off the train. When I want to know is if she does get her exit, where would it take her? She's been gone for years, so I wouldn't be surprised if her parents moved or something. Especially considering how wealthy they are.

Man was I the only one who found Simon using Grace’s memories against her as so low because not only were those memories sooo painful for her but the cat warned Simon that putting her in her own memories would harm her but he did exactly that. Like damn
right I was surprise that he went that low but like he killed someone so not that surprising.

I also thought, maybe aside from killing Tuba, that was the cruelest thing Simon does in the season not only because he trapped her in a prison of her own worst memories and psychological trauma, but he did it to his friend, someone he once genuinely loved. That’s a cruelty that most people wouldn’t put upon their worst enemies.

Grace was on the train because she wanted attention that her parents didn't give her.
Simon was on the train because he was stubborn.
Being unable to deal or believe you can do anything wrong, even if the proof is immediate and clear, is a commen trait in many mood and personality disorders like bipolar and sociopaths. I wonder what would happen if the train picked up somone like that, who just physically or mentally couldent do things the other passingers could or were expected to do. Can it determine these things prior to being chosen and therefor not take them? Or is that somthing beyond its understanding?
Basically small things can become bad when the person grows and doesn't changes

Simons number was higher than probably anyone’s number EVER! It was pretty clear he was far beyond redemption
Maybe Gooms (Glooms?) are to get rid if _specially horrible_ passengers. Simon tried to murder another passenger. Their lives seem to have a huge value on the train system, and once your number reach that high I doubt you can get it down.
Jessie has the biggest number - infinity. Because when he come back to train his problem was that he want to be with Lake , but it was impossible so...
I would have loved to see his number shifted and be replaced by a unique infinity symbol on his forehead to represent this impossibilty of redemption. (This would have make an great parallel with the train and Simon being sealed with the infinity train)

Here’s what I thought would happen: Simon, after wheeling Grace, would laugh in triumph, but confusingly look at himself as his number goes back down to his hand. He turns his hand over to see an infinity symbol, meaning that he was so horrible that he could never leave the train. That would be a cool scene though, right?
At this point it's a bit obvious where book 4 is going, with Amelia and Turtle Hazel, these two will have an interesting dynamic and there's more to hazel that we don't know yet. (Also introducing the next book's protagonist on episodes 6 and 7 seems to be the a new golden rule of this show)
I think book 4 will cover the topic of a person being totally irredeemable. It would set up a contrast with book 3 where people viewed Simon as irredeemable.
Amelia essentially views herself as irredeemable. As said earlier in book 3, she views getting off the train as a distant hope; due to how high her number is.
While Amelia has undoubtedly changed and is working through her problems; that sense of defeatism she has prevents her from doing the drastic changes to get her number down quicker.
Journeying with Hazel would probably help Amelia better work on her flaws.
@@declannewton2556 I'm sure we'll experience Amelia's journey in book 4, and i'm expecting her to attach to Hazel even if she takes care of herself, i'm expecting Amelia to start opening to her and not only for studying her and company.
Aswell as Hazel's topic, not only we still don't know who she is and what happens to her, we also don't know what's her future or if they can fix her.
Ita important to remember, for all intents and purposes, Hazel is basically Amelia's daughter. Its also important to remember that Hazel does have some of Alrick's memories I feel like it could be possible for that One-One could change Hazel into a passenger if she and Amelia develop a mother-daughter bond perhaps growing close to Hazel could be what it takes to get her number to zero.
Only if we watch it on HBO Max.

My theory is that it is a reincarnation metaphor... like, their life essence gets sent back into the world to start over; that's why it explodes.

Charlie Abraham Arana When it exploded, I half-expected a denizen to appear in its place, just for extra karmic punishment.
This show did something not many shows have done. A character that seems to be unchangeable and irredeemable, usually ends up realizing their problem.
This definitely wasn't the case. Simon was someone who couldn't be saved. It was either falling from grace (no pun intended) and becoming crazy, or dying. The latter happened. He died. Nothing was left. Not even his soul.
But Simon was so close to being off the train before he met grace
@@OzCroc @Dodger the Crocodile Simon's story is honestly a tragedy of errors. Simon was so close, but I don't think Grace is at fault here. I mean, he would have been gohm food if she hadn't saved him. She did the right thing when she saved his life.
But where Grace accepted that she was wrong about Amelia, One-One, and the train, Simon doubled down, insisted that Grace was wrong about her own memories, and tried to kill her. Simon ultimately couldn't be saved because he ultimately didn't want to be saved.
Katie-Kat Simon’s number should’ve turned into an infinity sigh once he through Grace to the wheels.

I mean avatar kinda did it, but surprisingly, infinity train was more dark and a whole lot less merciful
God this season got so dark, and I love it. I really didn't expect it.
Hazel's arc ended with her leaving those toxic people (luckily, although I expect her to come back later).
I was scared that Grace would get off the train since her number shouldn't be able to reduce that much compared to Tulip's in S1, and so although I'm happy she didn't, her number went down way too fast imo.
Simon, well, there's a lot to say about him. Definitely my favorite a character, since his character is so dark but immaculately written. I really wasn't expecting him to get that dark, or even die. I didn't think he would be able to keep himself in denial for long, since the truth was shoved in his face, so his death earlier after makes sense. Because I believed he would eventually realize how wrong he was, I thought that his arc would end with him starting to reduce his number, as I thought Grace's arc would end, except she would be way closer to zero. Simon's little bits of vulnerability are what really made me think he would be redeemed. That is until episode 9 and 10, where he did a bunch of fucked up stuff including attempting to murder Grace multiple times. His decent into madness was amazing to watch, and I really didn't expect him to die (again, seeing those little bits of humanity in him, those sympathetic moments, they really latched onto me). His death was definitely deserved, and was a fitting end. Wheeling would've been better I think, and kinda poetic especially with Tuba, but Ghom death is also kinda poetic seeing as it loops back to the beginning of his descent with the cat leaving him.
Overall, I really loved this season. The darker tone fits my tastes way better, and seeing several well written characters in such shitty situations was very dramatic and enjoyable.
Sidenote, if Infinity Train continues with the trend of making a character introduced in the previous season the next protagonist, then who's the next protag? I don't believe it's Hazel (she was a big character in S3), and I don't think it's one of the Apex kids, so who could it be? Amelia is already developed, so not her. I really can't think of anyone.
So about the number thing, It may just be my head cannon but I think that the larger your number is, the faster it can go down, but the harder it is to start to bringing it down. If you have a low number, like 63, then the changes you need to make are relatively minor, so they bring it down a equally minor amount. If you have a relatively large number, like twenty seven times ten to the power of fifty. Then the steps you need to take to improve are massive, and the decrease equally so. Grace took major steps to improvement by trying to help a kid even after finding out they are a denizen, saving a friend who tried to murder her, feeling regret after said friend tried to murder her a second time, changed her entire racist way of thinking and reformed a group she created originally on her own misunderstandings.
I would say it definitely qualifies for a major decrease in her number. Not to zero, but still a major decrease.
Also, maybe the next season will be all about one one. Wouldn't that just be lovely?
I hope to see a season with the Cat helping a new passenger who parallels Simon, and her struggling not to make the same mistakes with them that she made with him. Perhaps that would be the Book 8, because she's only been a recurring side character, and that should stay her role for as long as possible.
Since the Ghoms don't usually attack anyone inside the train, much less jump into them from the outside, I think this Ghom was a reaction from the train, as since his number went so high up it couldn't have come back down, he had become a danger for the train and other passengers, so the system might've just decided to discard him.
Yeah, I thought that it was incredibly convinient that the ghom appeared right when it did. Its more likely it was sent purposely

In s1e1 the ghom followed tulip to the car, and it was made possible because the train had stopped, something it only does when a passenger gets on and off the train, and we can presume the ghom from the flashback is there because someone left it in the car just like tulip left the ghom that chased her in the pixel car.

I actually believe the cat when she said she wasn't aware of Simon being behind him. Fear is one, if not THE most powerful feeling. When you are scared, you don't really think. People do irrational things when they are scared. When is the last time you had to run for your life? I've been in some scary and one or twice life threatening situations and looking back, I did some stupid things. What the cat did was not okay, but it's very realistic.
The problem was that she didn't come back, she just left, but yeah, that's how she is.

A couple of things. The girls in her memories were not her friends. They were clearly talking and laughing at her in her memory, which is why she lashed out like that. Also, Simon isn't influencing Grace's memories. Grace is the one influencing herself. She built up such a grandiose persona of the conductor in her head that her mind filled in the blanks in her memory. It was stated in season one that your emotions can and will manipulate your memories to an extreme degree. Saying that Simon was the one projecting his ideas into her memories is kinda goofy. What, is he telepathic now or something???
That scene reminded me of lilo and stitch with how lilo is treated by Mertal and her group and how lilo lashed out at her.
Well he does have some control over her mind as he is the one using her memories against her. Not sure if he can warp them tho

Also isn’t it always herself that tells her she’s wrong, its not 3 Hazel’s telling Grace she planted the idea in Simon’s head, its Grace’s mind telling her that (or the tape itself maybe?)
Yeah, that's why after a second the conductor looks normal again, showing that grace's perception of him changed for the better, Simon only refused that the real conductor was the real one, because he saw grace memories before she changed the way she saw it
My theory- what if the purpose of a ghom is to kill passengers who may not be able to fix themselves? This is assuming that a the ghoms used to be denizens. Since the purpose of a denizen is to get passengers off the train by helping them grow, a corrupted denizen might just try getting them off by ending them entirely and leave no one in need of fixing. Like maybe the ghom that killed Simon suddenly appeared because it was attracted by his crazy high number. I'm probably overthinking it but this is what infinity train does to me

Three Hole Punch Jim didn’t Tulip try escaping the train though? I’m probably misremembering it but I thought the ghom from season 1 (besides Atticus ghom) appeared when she ran off the train. So maybe they also are there to ensure that passengers stay on the train?

I think the gohm exploded after eating Simon because his number was so high that it just couldn’t handle all that energy. It’s also kinda weird just how fast it was able to kill Simon, where as with Tulip she only lost a little soul before getting it back.
Simon was so depraved that his soul wasn’t very attached to his body, so it was easy to remove.

I thought Simon’s laughing, then crying, then back to laughing was a sign of him going insane. As if the thought of him killing Grace pushed him over the limit because now he was truly alone. Possibly mentally breaking on the train triggers ghoms to act more aggressively on their victims.
Man, how annoying was it to animate all of those numbers on Simon?

It actually kind of seems like Hazel was a Denison made for them but she was also a line of code or creation or Denison that got tainted by the leftover code that Amelia wrote. That's why she turns into a turtle rather than just is one?
Since you make the connection of their clothing I also kind of noticed that she looks sort of like what their kid might look like if they were to have one? So maybe she's a literal mashup of the two a little? I don't know it just popped into my head and wanted to know if anybody had any thoughts

ok so I’ve been seeing a lot of ppl celebrating over simon’s death and well although ppl can feel any way about it and thats cool i feel like it kinda misses the point of the season to be happy that he died imo. For me it was incredibly tragic to see someone so hurt and completely broken be killed when it was avoidable. Simon was a monster but he was also a person and he may not have deserved another chance it’s still sad to see that he won’t get one. I know this is easier said than done and I have a long way to go in this department, but I wanna always try to show people love and compassion even if they don’t deserve it. That’s what makes it so tragic is that grace, amilia , tulip, or anyone can turn out like Simon if just a few events were changed.
Repose in peace Simon, I am sorry for you... no one deserves this, no one deserves death...never, no matter what or how many bad, sad or brutal things he has done, how many people he hurt or how egoist he is or ... was. No one deserves it even if he couldn't change in his better, especially if he can't or doesn't know how to be a better person.

I have a theory about the gohms. Everything on the train is to help people with the flaws so killing bugs definitely don't fit here. BUT What If gohm only "factory reset" the person in contct? think about it when gohm suck somebody with a number the person then the person is "spit up" later without the memories from the train but with the memory before ( this may be the reason why tapes existed) and if the gohm find train creation that doesn't stick to their car - it transform it to another gohm. this Gohm may explode ONLY because Simons number went too far and if everything in the train is created technologically so they gohms so this was like an error in program.

I'm not too sure about this one though because the gohms are creatures of the wasteland outside the train. The denizens and even One-One have made it clear that they are very much a threat. It might be different kind of threat for a denizen vs a passenger but still... I had that theory of yours briefly but then remember that a lot of the gohms are parasites of the train and not from the train. There's still so much we don't know about the world OUTSIDE the train

I don't think theories like this have much merit. This is essentially trying to find a way to prevent characters from dying in your own headcanon, with virtually no evidence to them whatsoever. It's akin to the "everything is a dream/coma" theories, in that it denies the story its consequences and weight in favour of pacifying everything about it. The train is a flawed place; it exists to help people but consistently puts them in danger and can leave them with more trauma than they entered with. It makes sense for there to be another aspect of the train, like the Gohms, that aren't the ideal therapy tools that people would want. Maybe they're an unintentional by-product of the train, maybe they serve a purpose for it, or maybe they were native to the wasteland the train resides in. Either way, they kill people, and we have to accept that and appreciate its narrative consequences.

I want to think there are people like Amelia on the train, not just people who got their number as high as her or looking for anomalies, but people who try to keep the train actually running, and not just the automated stuff.
Like the creator of the train and it’s conductor One-One.
Maybe a passenger that can get on and off the train at will and the like.
I took the end of his laughing fit to be the maniacal laughter that happens after a character fully snaps.
My theory: Grace never got out of her tape. After the scene where she pulls out the tape the show consistently has a slight gray tint over it. As well as small white flickers in random points on the screen which would show that it would still be the tape. This could then mean that Simon is not dead and that version of Simon was how Grace saw him and that she accepted he was dead to her. This would allow her to grow as a person and continue to get her number down. The other thing is that she went two layers deep in the tape. First when Simon hit her with the original tape, the second when the screen came out of her chest. I think Grace might actually be trapped in the origami car until someone else finds her. I know simon dying would make a lot of fans happy, but also keeping him in the background and having the apex turn into a series villain would also make sense.
Now we wait until book 4...

I strongly believe that if and when we get a book 4 it will be focused on Amelia and Hazel because while Amelia is on the path to redemption it appears that her actions and apologies for others are half-hearted and yet her number still goes down. Which is where Hazel comes in since she is technically Amelia's "Kid" if you understand what I mean. Of course, if the writers do go down that path it doesn't mean that Grace still won't have a big role in the story as I am sure she would show up to redeem herself to Hazel which would probably be all she needs to get her number to 0 since her number has been skyrocketing down from her arm to her wrist in the span of only 2-4 episodes.
I agree that Hazel would be the cause of Amelia's growth. Hazel is genuinely nice to people, while Amelia's niceness is halfhearted. It'd be nice to see Amelia become genuinely nice to others and make herself vulnerable to somebody besides her husband.

I actually have a tiny theory about the Ghoms. I believe that they feed off of your numbers, and they have to keep a certain quota, sorta. Like if they feed off someone with a low number they will not be "fed" enough, and too much, well we saw Simon's encounter for reference. Since we don't know that much about it all it's not for certain, but Tl:Dr Ghoms feed off your number, and too much will "overload" them, and too little will want them to eat more.

Book 3 had a funeral that talked about death, and what happens when we have the courage to change, as well as what happens when we don't.

I think you could argue thar simon would have been better off living on the real world than on the train when it transported him against his will when he was a kid.... im sorry but I feel bad for him, I think its kinda unfair that the system actually has the option to possibly kill its passengers.... like WTF!!!! But then again.... the train could also be completely arbitrary and doesn’t care about whats right or wrong or fair...
Edit: okay but how about when they erase your memories, and you are in number 1 the final challenge is to face your past actions of your “other life” on the train, so based on how you cope with that you can go home or start with a high number and with the recolection of those memories, so you know you have to be better

I think something to always keep in mind is the fact that it's an emotional therapy tool designed by a robot that lacks empathy. In the first place, a great deal of this therapy isn't exactly a healthy approach to things. Forcings your way through problems isn't always the best approach... but it can be the fastest. The fact that the passengers are here for minor emotional growth, and that is weighed against really is messed up. This marks the second season where I regard one-one as the primary villain of this train.

Ever since realizing that time spent on the train is 1:1 (ha) with the real world, I've seen it as a flawed attempt at helping that sometimes works. You could be put on the train over being sad about your dead lizard and end up stuck there for decades only to finally leave and have a wave of new worse problems like "where do I live? My parents think I'm long dead. I have almost no skills that apply to the real world." People on that train probably get killed, die of thirst or go hungry all the time; it can be helpful, but can easily be far worse then the problems it drew you in for.

After seeing that horrifying array of different emotions in Simon's face after seemingly kicking his best friend, off the train cemented Simon as my favorite complex character in the show. I know what People are going to say "How can you like such an asshole", well it's because he's a complex asshole. He's a tragic character, someone filled with so much hate, and raised with awful ideas about the environment he lived in. He was literally a child when the one person he could trust in a scary new place abandoned him, just to wind up in the arms of a manipulative individual that feed him false ideals. Of corse he'd grow up to be an insane tyrant.
Seeing him die in such a horrific way didn't make me feel "Good" it just reminded me how messed up the infinity train can be for children...
I really appreciate the direction they took Simon's character too. But I still was happy when he died. He deserved it as soon as he killed Tuba.

Why WOULDN'T Simon look like an anime villain? That's almost every other role his actor plays.
I also like to think the reason he went back to laughing is because he was so upset and traumatized that he FINALLY went completely insane. Kind of like the Joker in The Killing Joke. That said, it was probably still a good thing he didn't get much further afterwards.
Simon was so toxic that the Ghom that ate him died. That's impressive. Sad, but impressive. Also, his death grislier than expected. Bumps the Miror Cop death off the top spot.
I feel like Simon's death was the darkest moment for any "kids show"(at least to my knowledge) , the air quotes are to debate what really is a kids show.
To quote Atop the fourth wall Linkara when he talks about the Power Rangers episode Doctor K, "Just because something is made for children doesn't mean it still can't be sophisticated, just because it's made for little kids doesn't mean it can't be well written" he also mentions how even though it's an action/adventure it can also emotionally move you, and I think he's right on the power coin.This book shows the youngest character being the most mature about Tuba's funeral and is a great message for not just kids but for people in general about how while death is hard and that won't change, the one's that pass on will never truly be gone, and will be at peace.
Not to mention that it show that if we don't faces our problems, they'll consume us and be our undoing.It makes me think how Owen would do in Power rangers, I'd think he would do well, although personally I think he should stick to the level of maturity as that funeral and have the "Simon" scenario for the main villain, which they did do with Master Org in Wild Force, but I do think it can be done by having the villain go through the journey of no return rather than just doing it.It's also an interesting concept to debate the ideas of there always being another way or doing what needs to be done, plus it adds a sympathetic side to said villain about how they could've been saved if they chose another path.

fun fact, every main character passenger gets an animal (or animal-like) denizen companion. Tulip had Atticus. Lake and Jesse had Alan Dracula. Simon had Samantha until they were separated. His new companions, which he shared with Grace, were Tuba and Hazel. Amelia probably had an animal companion when she first boarded the train, but she must have abandoned them when she usurped One. Hazel is her new companion. Finally, Grace gets another animal companion: a tiny origami swan.
So IF there is a season 4 I am calling it now.... Simon isn't dead, the "hounds" are actually hunting down overwhelming numbers to reset them or neutralize them. Because they are a part of the train originally and so must have a purpose. I see him being reset or taken to a special car that he cant escape until he can see how his actions are making him someone he doesn't WANT to be. And then he is going to find our favorite turtle kindergartener and her forgiveness is going to be part of his redemption. He is going to get the "former apex" and isnt going to be able to get the last forgiveness he needs to heal and he will end up truly trapped on the train through his own guilt till he learns that he has to be the one to forgive himself...

I would honestly be so happy if this happened. As much as I hate to admit it, I feel very sorry for Simon, and actually really like his character. Of course, not what he’s done, but what he can DO to better himself in the future. I just really want to see him again next season, somehow, somewhere. He’s so interesting, and if the writing crew is smart, they can make a redemption for him that’ll be put down somewhere in animation history.
Simon's death and the other Ghom instances have made me think abt something..
Tulip was attacked by the Ghoms when she tried to escape the train, the same thing happend to Lake in book 2.
Simon's number went so high that it reached his face, and showed absolutely NO sign that he would make an attempt to change. He attempted to murder a fucking passenger the train is not gonna like that shit- and He was killed by Ghoms.
The Ghoms were even referenced/shown in one of the games in the lucky cat car
Based on this, maybe they're an essential part of the train?? they keep passengers on the train and remove the ones that are a danger to others. Plus.. its very likely passengers die on the train.. and the ghoms disintegrate the body, they could act kinda as a clean up crew. And maybe the reason the ghom exploded after absorbing simon's life was a result his number being as high as it was?
also, yes, the train would be even more fucked up than it is already if this were true. But remember- its cars are made by a robot who wouldnt understand humans fully. I think i heard this from another video but to the train doesnt exactly see its passengers the way a human would. To the train everyone is a part of a machine in a way, just like the denizens are part of the train. When a human has problems that it deems to be unfixable off the train, it takes that person. I've also heard that it will pick up passengers who are about to do something drastic/are in a bad situation (Tulip almost dying of hypothermia, Amila might've jumped off her college building,)
Also, now that One-One has his introduction thing, that miiight make the train a little more clear, tulip didnt know shit about the train, and one-one wasnt helping. But after Tulip returned One-One to his place, he started to actually tell the passengers something about the train. I think Tulip probably showed One-One that if your passengers dont know they have to work out their issues, they're gonna take a lot longer to realise that than they have to.
This was way longer than i realized it would be but whatever i like this show so im gonna say it.
Personally, I think Gohms are a reference to the parasitic insects from Zelda called the Gohma. Think about it. Both are bugs that cause death, both explode when defeated or killed, and both are parasites.
I love ya Whitney! This season finale was absolutely crazy and I loved that long silent shot of Grace with the origami bird at the end! Simon’s mental break after thinking he murdered his best friend was one of my favorite moments of animation! As always you coverage of this content is great and I can’t wait to see more!
This book was insane. The sort of things they where able to get away with, and even more the subtle things they left to the audience's minds where really chilling. I would warn that anyone under 10 might end up with nightmares after watching chapter 10, but for everyone else this is a must watch show that needs all the support and freedom to let the creators do whatever they want with it.

I also loved the voice acting for Simone's essentially mental break down after attempting to kill Grace. He begins laughing over it just to end up sobbing then right back to laughing and finally back to sobbing (you hear the switch from laughing to sobbing as Grace is being flown back up). And Simone just looking at Grace alive and safe with neutral awe (best way I can really describe his face) is perfect as Simone is both glad he didn't actually kill Grace and upset that he didn't actually kill Grace. The neutral face is the balance between the two conflicting and broken sides of Simone. He may have wanted to kill Grace but he still knew that she was the closest person he had known and he would have to leave with the fact that he killed her, something part of him couldn't except.
While I do think killing Simone was the appropriate way to go, I do wish that maybe he died differently (not that the way he did was bad, it was brutal and befitting in a way). My version would be that the Gohm tried to kill Simone but after nearly doing so dies bc of his high number count; however, Simone is still gonna die as too much of his life had been drained. Grace runs over and holds him and as they exchange some emotional dialogue about everything that's happened and their relationship. Simone kisses Grace, saying to a crying and shocked her that he finally got his first kiss and is happy it was with her right before turning to dust.
I personally believe that Simon should have died from his number being that high, that way it proves to the apex that your number is supposed to go down, not up, also what happens when your number maxes out
The gohms might be there to weed out those with too high numbers that might never leave the train. Think about it. Sooner or later the train would be filled up if those who can't solve their problems never leave. They might even start families and grow from there. You can't have the train overflow like that so getting rid of the nonredeemable might be the best solution. The gohms is likely attacked to numbers and that's why this one was so attracted to Simon.
So no one is going to point out the the Gohm had a book/object inside it before it exploded?

What I love about Book 3 and Simon is that we never find out why he was put onto the train in the first place. It's left as a mystery that probably is been hinted throughout Book 3. All we do know is that his companion was Samantha the Cat and he had trust issues. His irredeemable personality is most grounded over the fact that all that he has known and everything he was taught was lie and that broke him. He refused to face the truth and deny its existence because that would mean everything built was for nothing.
I truly can't wait to see Book 4 come out and to see more of Grace returning home and if any characters the previous books play a role.
Book this was amazing . The last 2 episode had me on the edge of my couch. Not sure with one I like the most. All are good .
1 Tulup learning how to deal with her parents divorce was really interesting.
2 . Lake dealing with being her own person. And the relationship with Jesse and Alan Dracula was great.

An amazingly rare aspect of this show is that every season gets even better. Most shows have some iffy seasons or start great and get worse or have bad sequels. But in Infinity Train, each book is a banger and it’s just never boring.
The fact that simon’s crying, screaming and trying to get the bug off of him is so haunting. It shows that he regretted. Only in his last moments he regretted everything bad he ever did. It’s so haunting to hear his screams as he’s quite literally melting.
Simon was my favorite character and still sad to see him go

Ughhh can’t believe I’m saying this but Simon is a well written character. He was written for me to fully dislike him. I didn’t even wanted him to be redeemed in anyway maybe I wanted him to suffer a little bit and learn from him mistakes overtime and GROW up. Owen really had me shocked for like 10 minutes, Simon is well written honestly.
My theory about Infinity Train Book 3
1- When Simon pushes Grace and his number raises to the highest in the train and the in the apex which makes him happy that he has the biggest number of them all and in his mind that he has absolute power over the apex and everyone in the train. When reality hits realizing that he killed his best friend that just save him for a second time which makes Simon go insane and start laughing hysterically.
2- When the Gome jumps and sucks Simon life out which ends up make it explode. I think the reason that the gome exploded after killing Simon is cause of his number being so high which overwhelms the gome and makes it explode. i think the gome's doesnt suck out just the people souls. it sucks the numbers as well
3- Hazel going with Amelia maybe helps Amelia lower her number
This was the darkest and saddest season I have ever watched. I really do hope they make book 4 now.

I feel so bad for Simon. He was the ultimate tragic character of this season. I get the feeling that if we get another season, Simon may return in some form, because after the roach thing explodes, it disappears, and I get the feeling that it's not the end of the energy it takes. Simon is ultimately the resulting sum total of constant lies and subterfuge. Having truths hidden from him and his friend lying to him is ultimately the reason he ends up being the way he is. I really do hope he shows up again and gets his own shot of redemption, cause if anyone needs it, it's him. Given the HBO max support thing...SCREW YOU HBO!!!! One of my favorite things about this season (and the show in general) is that while Simon's number does truly get ridiculously and almost unfathomably high, it still never reaches infinity; showing that even with enough time, you can still redeem past mistakes if you try, attempt at and work towards being better.
I mean yes infinity is a truly vague concept as no one individual can grasp an infinity of something but I still prefer to think in the metaphorical sense i listed above

Simon’s incredibly high number reminds me so much of Steven going mad with power in SUF episode 16: fragments. Don’t know why though. Probably the insanity and maniacal laughter. I wonder how he made it go up that high? For now I’m just gonna say that it’s because he went into full psycho mode. Numbers go down when your mentality improves. I really hope that Simon didn’t wheel oneone or anything because the “down with the false conductor” graffiti scares me and puts that dark thought in my head. I guess we’ll have to wait for season 4 to find out.
I know Simon had it coming, but outside of Grace, he never did anything that she didn't do. Simon was tortured and driven by madness. If Amelia deserved a second chance, so does he. That's what makes it so tragic I guess.

Simon laughs victorious from supposedly killing Grace, but them sobs after realizing he killed his best friend. However, when he laughs a second time, it's not out of jubilation but out of madness and despair. As his numbers grow all over his body, so does Simon's mental and emotional decline.
Repose in peace Simon, I am sorry for you... no one deserves this, no one deserves death...never, no matter what or how many bad, sad or brutal things he has done, how many people he hurt or how egoist he is or ... was. No one deserves it even if he couldn't change in his better, especially if he can't or doesn't know how to be a better person.

After all 8 seasons are done we reveal in an AMA that turning into ash actually killed Simon, and that number monsters are still just people.
And if you let this Samantha out of the bag too soon we are finished. Cartoon Network will pull us off the air for pulling a fast one on them.

Episodes 9 & 10 felt a little like something you'd see from Tales From the Crypt.
Theory: The gohm exploding was most likely from consuming an individual with a large number. It might even be drawn to him as well. Think of it, these creatures wander about around the train for one to be determined to board it would be the irresistible sent of a large meal. At least, that's what I think

The gohm exploding after killing Simon really took me out of the scene. It felt so jarring to put that right after a teenager being violently murdered.
I’m not normally for killing off depraved main characters like Simon so quickly since it muddies the theme, but I think they handled it well in this case. By showing both Grace’s healing process and Simon’s descent at the same time when exposed to the same information, it demonstrates the different outcomes a person someone could (metaphorically) face when dealing with growth. The story took the time to illustrate that through Grace, Simon’s death wasn’t inevitable or fully-deserved, but a direct consequence
