I apologize for the 2nd comment. I just wanted to give @ENTERTAINtheDUDE the credit and praise that he deserves. I'm not a youtuber as i would like to be. I know that making these videos and editing them are a pain in the ass. We have a ton of Alien related youtubers out there but i'm only subscribed to the few i find entertaining. With no regret i can tell you that as of now, you are my favorite one to date. What you do in your videos and the fact that you make time to actually ineract with your subscribers says a lot about your commitment. The fact that you take the time to comment and interact with your audience is something that i don't see often. I am a massive Alien fan and i personally don't have any friends or family to share my cool stuff with or talk about my interests with. That is why it means a lot that you actually interact with people. It is a quality that is going to get you noticed and i know for a fact that you will blow up if you stay consistent with everything. I must sound like a dork right now, but i really don't care. You deserve to know that you've got people who appreciate you.

Holy Moly! I was just scrolling through the comments and found this. Listen, firstly thanks for the huge compliment and I'm also glad you noticed that I do really care of what I talk about. I love hearing from you guys and am also in the same boat where most of the people I know just don't care enough about these subjects. Sometimes makes you feel like an outcast haha. It's been back breaking trying to reply to everyone as I've never had this much instant success with a video before but damm it feels rewarding to engage with you all. @N0rseman It's really nice of you to leave this comment and encourages me to continue with my passion project of making these videos after work. Thanks again. Hopefully in the next few days I'll be able to upload my trailer reaction and I'll see you there my friend 👽

@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE Knowing what it takes to make these videos and edit them is why i needed to let you know how appreciated you are. I know it can be hectic and difficult to get back to everyone, and the fact that you do that shows how much passion you have for what you create. I am a massive Alien franchise fan among other movie/comic book genres and seeing that people such as yourself have the same passion for it is kind of relieving because IRL i don't have the opportunity to talk about these things. Sorry if it sounds cheesy but you are doing great and i can't wait to see more to come.

Both Prometheus and Covenant were very interesting and the plot twist about androids was phenomenal and very inteligent, since androids lack "soul/emotions", therefore why they could be responsible for "ehm". The problem was that screenplay of Prometheus was garbage, like written by 15 year old. The Covenant had better screenplay, but still badly written characters. It’s the “new forms” that gets me. This isn’t pokemon; we don’t need new creatures to watch, we just need new stories involving the one set up in the first two movies. Maybe that’s just me
I also really dislike the black goo and the creation of the xenomorph that was set up in prometheus and covenant. I didn’t mind it at first, but over the years it’s felt worse and worse. It ruined the mystery behind both the xenomorph and the space jockey

    • @RaikenXion
      @RaikenXion 5 месяцев назад +13

I like the idea of the black goo, but ONLY as a replicating, "John Hammond Jurassic Park" type of method, of replicating a version of a already pre-existing, ancient creature. Don't forget the Mural in Prometheus does still strongly suggest David replicated his own version, that was close to the original thing that existed eons ago, and was discovered by the Engineers. I prefer the idea the engineers themselves just found a way to create a more "Viral Bomb" method stored in those urns, of the biomechanical *Xenomorph*, because originally handling the actual eggs became too dangerous.
that's the general idea i've always stuck to in my own headcanon which makes Prometheus and Covenant work well as prequels to the o.g. masterpiece ALIEN. But it always needed just one more sequel - "Alien: Awakening" to really connect those dots properly and explain what the Engineers were all about, while the ancient Xenomorphic creature could still remain completely mysterious. It's a shame Ridley lost the plot abit, preferring to delve more into David and A.I. instead of properly connecting the movies.

@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE oh heck yeah, nothing beats the Nostromo Crew sorry. I love the way Parker and Kane simply hated Ripley's guts, especially parker, but when sh*t hit the fan and got REAL, Parker really stepped up and he cared for ALL his crewmates, he worked as a "team" with Ripley, he even tried to save Lambert, screaming at her get out of the way, like get out of here! Those actor's performances felt seriously frickin real man! And it made you genuinely care for every one of them.
This is what these young actors will need to really bring to the table in their performances, young yes, naive sure, but there needs to be a genuine vulnerability and sincerity to them also. Well the idea of a abandoned Weyland/Yutani Space station shouldn't threaten any potential connection to Covenant, because it could be that at some point in the past, David met up with W/Y representatives, and gave his batch of replicated facehugger embryos to W/Y where a team of scientists experimented with them. Maybe David actually worked with a group of scientists on the space station, secretly using them all as just subjects for his own continued experiments regarding the Xenos, and they all died with just the facehugger eggs left.

I began to see that it was a perfect movie and not just a horror flick. Alien is not the picture I thought it was. After watching it a few times I began to pay attention to all the details. There are so many questions that are not answered. So when Prometheus came out I was happy to see that it answered all my questions. Most people didn't like it because they really needed to pay attention. All the answers are there. The Extended version with all the outtakes is the perfect film. Interestingly Prey did not receive a cinema release in any territory, and no one is talking the numbers from week two on wards as Hulu discovered what the term "front end load" means. AR is getting a cinema release which indicates the Studio is confident this one is going to be a commercial success. The problem with the Alien franchise is no one is finding the Xeno frightening anymore and we basically get the same tropes movie after movie. My concern is they are going down the Jaws route, if a large shark is frightening to audiences (movie 1) then lets make them even larger, and hey they can roar, movie 2 to movie 4. This falls more into the realms of self parody than improving on what we have seen previously. Prey was a much better movie than I was expecting, still with huge issues, so I hold out hope for AR and will be there opening weekend.

According to rumours from the script writers,Neill Blomkamp movie was about the Sulaco ship
drifting in space after the emergencypods were released. On the ship there were a xenomorph
hidden in the lower basement of the spaceship. After fifty years they are detected by another
ship bringing colonists to a new terraformed planet for humans. They send in two robots to
investigate. They find traces of dna in the ships database, and clones Hicks,Ripley and Newt.
But as clones they don't remember anything of the events that took place in the alien3 movie.
When they arrive at the colonists destinyplanet, the xenomorph starts to lay eggs.
Then all humans on the planets are attacked and a war breaks out.Ripley,Hicks and Newt manages to
escape in a spaceship they find in a cave. It is a engineer spaceship that takes them to the
engineers homeplanet called"Paradise".But when they have left the spaceship,a deacon crawls out
and makes a cliffhanger for a followup movie 😀

@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE My idea for an alien tv-series is as follows: It takes place just before the events in the first alien movie and happens on a planet near where the nostromo spaceship
      is shipping ore.
Weyland-Yutani is on the planet and have terraformed it for years, when they discovers a cave with lots of xenomorph eggs.
One of them get's infected and a xenomorph is born. It turns out to be a queen, and a lot of the Weyland-Yutani humans are infected and then
      a war breaks out.
All the humans on the planet are wiped out and only a few manage to escape in a spaceship. Then they nuke the planet from orbit.
Then Weyland-Yutani regrets the decision and a hunt for the xenomorph begins. They get a tip that there's a crashed spaceship on lv426 and sends
the robot Ash on the Nostromo spaceship.
But they are informed that the mission has failed and that Nostromo has gone missing. Then Weyland-Yutani get's
a tip about an xenomorph on Fiorina161 and sends a team of researchers there. They finds a surviving prisoner that is impreagnated and a queen is born.
Weyland-Yutani then wants to use the xenomorphs on the planets where the engineers are located because they want the technology to seed planets with life.
They also want the elixir that provides humans with prolongued life. After they have managed to give birth to a flock of xenomorphs, they drops them
on an engineer planet and causes everyone of them to die.
Then they get hold of the blue elixir that gives
prolongued life. But several ships with engineers that where away from their planet when Weyland-Yutani wiped the
population out, pursue them and manages to get the elixir back, but gets trapped on the planet where both parties
crash. Then a battle takes place and the crew from Weyland-Yutani gets the elixir that gives them prolongued life
for thousands of years, but they are now trapped on the planet, with no means to get anywhere. But then
they see a light aproaching, but is the spaceship friends or foes ?
It turns out it is the engineers and after a battle they gets hold off the blue elixir once again, and that
gives the cliffhanger for a second season that we must wait several years to see???

My worry is that alien was paced very slow and its more artsy even for its time than anyone would think to give it credit for. Aliens was a product of its time as well, its a lot like all james cameron films of that era. Generally speaking none of the reboots of classic films live up to the nostalgia we have for them or their quality. The modern "good filmmaking" becomes very obviously poor when you've got something genius with "outdated filmmaking" to compare it to. I think studios just want to follow a formula and follow expectations with no regard for quality of the artistic work.

Not that the crew would be able to destroy it if/when things go pear-shaped (if they were overwhelmed, doubtful they could self-destruct it like the Nostromo was). I'm remaining positive, but all this talk of genetic experiments and new breeds of alien just turns me off. I think the worst thing that ever happened to alien was the suggestion of them being weaponized. This led to liberal use of the term "bioweapon" without really knowing what it meant, and that led to all the shenanigans in alien 4. And of course, it retroactively led to the Prometheus storyline of engineers and alien goo. It's just gone way off track of what alien was all about. They're meant to be inexplicable and unexplainable. Horrific creatures that cannot be understood or reasoned with, and they absolutely will not stop until you are dead. I'm pretty sure I stole that from somewhere. But, turning them into biological experiments and "scary new varieties" doesn't make them scarier. It makes them less mysterious. It's like fodder for a action movie not a horror movie.

*Ridley Scott got lost on his own trying to tell a story and studio interference yet again adding their lame and crummy demands.*

I'd rather have a movie based on the avp games from 1998 and 2000. The best part about those games are xeno are terrifying, smart and extremely cunning to dealing with the marine who are packing some serious firepower. Hollywood clearly doesn't get it, hence why this movie is already looking like rubbish to me too much focus on the original movie. I want something similar to aliens 2 but with some serious action.

I think we should wait and see. Give it a chance. See it as a whole. I really like this director and I love how he has gone more gritty with this. It’s what an Alien film needs. It’s not a family/Disney film! Can’t wait to see.

He didn't have a script. He had story boards and ideas but ridley didn't want to confuse people by possibly writing off ALIEN 3. I have heard rumors that Neil's version included CLONES of Ripley, Newt, and Hicks. I'm not sure that's true though since the story boards show newt as an adult.

Ridley wouldnt have given a shit about Alien3 - he cared about Blomkamp stealing his thunder
The film didn’t need to acknowledge the discontinuity at all. It’s always worse if a film tries too hard to say “now *this* is actually what happened”
Let the audience decide whether Alien 3 was a dream in cryo sleep but for god’s sake don’t show it
