He was ruling udarata (mountainous region) area then decided to establish the Kandyan Kingdom in about 1469 AD

Sir isn't yamasinghe bandara the son in law of karaliyadde bandara? So was it mentioned in the book

Basically he was the nephew of Karalliyadde Bandara. Later he became the son in law but we use the original relationship here for ease of understanding. Type Yamasinghe Bandara in google and you'll see most of the results mention him as the Nephew of Karalliyadde Bandara. More information on Yamasinghe Bandara's family is scarce in the historical sources. Don't worry too much about it 😊
