  • NB: The links were broken, i fixed those!
    Schematics + PCB in pdf format:
    www.synthforum...
    (R6 and R7 should be 10k instead of 100k)
    I finally finished a project i had lying around for a few years; a LM13600 based MS20 filter clone.
    The schematics designed by korg , are modified by tim escobedo and Hiltree.
    This video is my first test, running a Volca Bass and Volca Beats through the filter and testing its repsonse.
    The HPF isnt working as it should. Not sure what to do with that.
    I'll swap the resonance pot (100k log) for a 50k one, to see if the range improves.
    More info on HillTree's project can be found on the Dutch Synthforum.nl:

    Sounds awesome! Is R14 running along the underside of the PCB? I noticed that the IC chip is over top of it. Also, did you print the pcb yourself, or did you buy it? If so, where?

      I have to check, but IIRC I did run R14 on the underside. The PCB was made by a guy on the dutch synthforum.nl and were sold in a limited run, which all sold out.
      The link in the description holds all the information.

    Nice!
    what tipe of layout you followed for build this?

    how did you modded Boss KM-04 Micro Mixer? What are those inputs on the top? I own one & I wonder what more it can do.

    • @Dsil303
      @Dsil303  6 лет назад

      The Km04 can do very little :)
      Only 4 mono inputs with volume control on a 9v battery.
      The mods are only extra outputs with mini jack connections so I can use it for volca's and other small kit.

    The filter eally has a nice sound . Did you manage to solve the HP filter response problem ? Nonetheless its sounds great im tempted to build one.

      Cheers! Its very easy to build and very cheap component wise!
      I didn't adjust the HPF, I have very limited knowledge about all this, i just followed the instructions and PCB.
      Hilltree, the guy who tweaked the filter design to this version didnt have time to trouble shoot the HPF part.
      I do recommend building this, its really simple but very powerfull. In the forum thread mentioned in the description there is some info about adding a LFO to the input allready in the schematics!

      Dsil303 Ah i see thankyou. Does this filter use an lm13700 ??

    • @AdamTheAd-vanc3d
      @AdamTheAd-vanc3d 7 лет назад

      I prefer your filter to the one in the volca bass 👍👍👍

      I've used the LM13600 but others who've built it used the LM13700. AFAIK it's the same chip!

      hahaha thanks! Me too! It surely does not sound like the filter i have in my korg 700s. But it's nice to have a 303 sounding synth/sequencer with a totally different filter than the 303/101

    How did you manage to set the stereo input within the filter. Isnt it supposed to filter just the tip signal from volca? Or do volcas send the same sound within esch channel?

    • @Dsil303
      @Dsil303  3 года назад +1

      It's not stereo, so it only filters one part of the jack (tip or sleeve I dunno) or it sums both channels after the connector and feeds mono signal into the circuit. I'm not sure I haven't made the circuit myself

      I've updated the links to schematics and PCB and forum threrad (in Dutch), so you can have a look at that. I cant answer your technical questions, i didn't develop it, i just made it from the schematics.

    hi, only one question the IN and the OUT are conected to signal and to the mass directly? And the switch is over 6 pin?? thanks

      Hi Martinn,
      I must admit i'm not sure. Maybe when you take a look at the schematics in the description you can see? I'm not very educated in electronics and stuff, i just soldered the components to the PCB ;)
