I’m planning on including an i5 10400 and an Nvidia 3050 ti/3060 (assuming they release and are available). Do you believe the 650 w version of this would be safe or should I just opt for name brand?

    • @PCTechHustle

      Yes I have no reason to distrust this brand. I am too keeping my eye out for anything negative and have not found anything. I was on pcpartpicker and found out afterwards that their filter was wrong about this particular unit. They had it listed as a semi-modular unit. I bought it thinking that and after I checked it out. I emailed the pcpartpicker guys and let them know to fix that listing. To their credit they responded promptly and did it without a hitch.

    I like it! I used a 650w Aresgame PSU in a Dell Vostro 3471 SFF i5-9400 with a RX 6600.
    Obvously, I took apart the motherboard from the SFF case and put it on a test bench. I also used a 24 pin to 8 pin adapter, because Dell's motherboard doesn't fit a 24 pin connector from any PSU (I bougth it in AliExpress for a few bucks).
    It worked flawlessly, except for the fan noise, but Idk if I can't turn it off or at least slow it down due to Dell's motherboard lack of config and Aresgame PSU doesn't have any buttont to turn it on/off.
    Btw, I got about +/- 120 FPS at 1080p (High settings) in games like Fortnite and WZ, Hitman 3 was at 240 FPS easily and Aresgame PSU didn't get hot nor caused crashes to the GPU. I remark this because I also have a NZXT 850w PSU and it lasted a year and a half powering a RX 5700 XT and suddenly the GPU started to get some crashes every 2 or 3 hours, you know the black screen, and I was thinking the GPU was faulty, but no, I just replaced the NZXT PSU and it worked like a charm.

  • @aglis_
    @aglis_ 3 года назад +4

    I've been using for a couple weeks now with the 750W version with my expensive 3080 GTX.
    The quality and feel of the product does speak for itself, it certainly doesn't feel like generic cheap PSU that will set your PC and my (expensive)GPU on fire.
    I had a Corsair brand die on me before and a lot of people have noticed that 'brand names" mean a lot less nowadays.
    However, I must mention the sketchy part is that they send an email to anyone who has bought it so they can get (win) a free RGB mouse pad if they leave behind (presumably) a positive review on Amazon. Maybe this is actually just increasingly normal practice on Amazon; to be fair they are a unknown brand so they probably wanted to stand out a little more by drawing positive feedback with a decent quality product.

  • @emattdat10
    @emattdat10 3 года назад +1

    I just bought a g5 5000 unit from dell. It came with 350w power. The way they designed it is that you cannot upgrade the power unit that it is long in shape. Well you can remove it. I will have to have this sit outside the chassis and run the cords inside and plug them in that way. The question Im having is that the mother board does not have the 24 pin connection. However I saw on Amazon that you can get a converter that goes from the 24 pin to 6 pin. I hope this turns out ok. The is for the video.

    • @PCTechHustle

  • @PapaMav
    @PapaMav 3 года назад +2

    The reason that tester is valuable (the same can be accomplished with a paper clip but those testers are handy, some EVGA models also provide them) is so you can test the unit when you get it, to make sure it is not DOA and so you don't waste your time, installing it in your case, only to THEN find out, the thing is DEAD.

    I normally would agree on EVGA, but not now I read where they have changed OEM manufacturers to cut costs and reliability has gone downhill. I was conflicted between Aresgame and EVGA but frankly reviews were better for this one so I got the 650watt version - that said the only thing that remains to be seen is longterm reliability, but ive researched this brand to death all over the place and yes they are new, but it they really seem to be trying for quality, reviews say the same its got high grade overall build quality and their customer service is said to be first rate. I saw so many bad reviews for Corsaie I just gave up on them. Im pretty discerning and critical on any new brand especially power supplies and its the first time ive felt this confident in a new brand or product. You can get a random bad product in any mass manufactured item, its just a question of how high the percentage is. This brand seems like they really want to make their mark by giving good quality and value and reviews seem to support that - but all that said we wont know until these things have been out for a year two what the real long term results will be, but I felt good enough about them to buy one so heres hoping for good results and a new company who we can trust.

    The thing that concerns me about the ARESGAME Power Supply is the fake reviews. I checked out the product on Fakespot and its adjusted rating is 2/5 Stars compared to 5/5 Stars on Amazon. In comparison, the EVGA and Thermaltake got 4.5/5 Stars. Usually if a product has fake reviews, they probably might not be good. Unfortunately these days, you can't trust the rating on Amazon as there are no-name junk products with a high rating but actually being junk such as a "gaming" keyboard, mouse or headset.
    The power supply includes a gift as shown on 4:05 but I don't know if it's one of those gifts that require you to rate the product 5 stars. I believe this action is prohibited by Amazon and I know Amazon prohibits sellers from asking buyers to change or remove their review although it makes me curious how they could email you if you haven't contacted or worked with them before.
