As a father who had to work a TON of 2nd/3rd shifts jobs, I missed a lot of my little girl's "childhood' due to simply doing what I had to do in order to make sure that she had ANYTHING that she wanted to have as a child. Not to mention the "basics" of clothes, food, and shelter.
So trust me, this song HITS LIKE A TON OF BRICKS on an emotional level because of all the things you might have missed, but knowing that your daughter has grown up in a home filled with nothing but love, and never had to face the struggles that I had to go through growing up. And to this day, even though she is 28 years old, I will CRUSH YOUR FACE if you do anything that upsets her in the slightest.
Trust me, I scared away a LOT of boys who were trying to date her over the years, and now that she is older and wiser... and saw what those boys did with other girls... she is thankful that I was there to look out for her.

My biggest fear as a future father is not being able to get my babies what they want and need because I was raised to be a provider and if I had to I would go back to trapping for my kids I do wrong for all the right reasons like he said “ I remember back one Christmas when daddy had no money mommy wrapped the presents up and stuck under the tree and some of em was from me because daddy couldn’t buy em and I remember that night I sat up the whole night crying because daddy felt like a bum and daddy had a job but his job was to keep food on the table for you and mom” my biggest fear is not having money and having to swallow my pride and ask my dad for money for Christmas for my kids but on the same hand i would be looking at what money I got sayin can I flip it and get the pack and hit the streets and make 2 grand for Christmas that’s why I’m going to college rn I’m a child of divorce I saw my single mother hide her emotions for 2 years before my step dad was around and he showed me how to be a man how to dress myself how to work bust my ass if I have to
I'm at the early stages of this man, but my only goal is to be the Dad that you have been. That's it, the only reason I'm here or want to better myself is for her, I don't even want to date again (separated from her mother). We share 50/50 custody and live closeby, mother wanted to split because I became distant and absent so it's my fault (true, I had a HEAVY codeine habit, I'm sober from it now for a month and going strong with no going back) so I also carry that guilt. Working 12 hour shifts in a row, then having her on my days off (and she's only coming up to 3 so is a handful and doesn't give me 2 minutes to breathe) while I try time manage bettering myself -- finding a distance college, music production, lifting/gym and cardio on my road bicycle, then working again multiple 12 hours and repeat is exhausting....but that's just how it is. My other hobbies like reading don't exist, I get like 2 'free' days a month.
It's weird because our circumstances are different, in that we were actually pretty comfortable before the split, she earns well, but this song hits harder too because I didn't have the upbringing she did. So it's almost a double whammy for me; the stress of the poverty and BEING that kid in the song experiencing all of that from a broken home, and also being a father who is run into the ground literally trying to balance being a dad, working long days, AND bettering myself. Same reason 'Rock Bottom' by Em has to be up there as a Top 10 song IMO.
It's hard as fuck man. It's now 10pm, I finished my 12 hour day at 8pm, I have been watching a lecture on Pharmacy (work in a Hospital & that's my aim but waiting on a job to come up with training/distance learning), thinking of doing a home workout but...I'm just done. I'm too tired to focus on anything but just chilling for a bit on RUclips. And I get my daughter tomorrow at 7am, and I have her till Wednesday at 7am, when I leave for another 2 days of work.
We can only do what we can, I suppose.

Alaina was Kim's sisters till she ODed and Eminem become a father to her and Adopting her, Stevie was Kim and her other boyfriend kid after the boyfriend passed away in 2019 Eminem adopted Steve. All 3 grew up together and he Treated each one as one of his own even with 2 not being his blood..Nick cannon tried to diss that but to most it just show how kind hearted he is to the ones he loves.

I lost my mom when i was 9 and i lost my dad at 31 and im 33 now and damn has it been hard.
i looked at friends and other people to understand what motherly love is that bond how it connects and how different it can be compared to others.
my dad was a really though loss and it still hurts alot but losing them this early in life gave me so much life lessons and made me view life so differently then i did before.
I appriciate the fact you show emotions and its something you should not hold back for whatever reason or whoever may see it.
emotions are valid and you should be proud that you feel emotions, i have been emotionless because of all the things i went through and i finaly found emotions again when my dad died and it can be such a relief to finaly let those things out and clear the brain of the fogg.
accept what happend and go on with knowlage is my motto after all ive been through and it helps and i hope this will help someone else aswell.

I just love how Eminem expresses his emotions through rap.
As a parent, I can tell you this song hits differently than when I was in high school, first hearing it. My son's mom and I are doing everything we can for our little boy, but sometimes relationships don't work. I know she is a great mom and she knows I'm a great dad. It's stressful to think about the effect on the child, but sometimes it's for the best
for me, it`s "Cleaning out my closet" as, for me, personally, it reminds me that me and my mum sadly never some stuff we`d been going through, before she sadly passed away in 2019, there`s not a day that goes by, where i don`t wish with all my heart that i`d managed to tell her i forgive her, and every time i hear that song, it brings those memories flooding back, always tell your loved ones that you love and care about them, and if there`s been issues between you, forgive each other, because you never know when it just might be too late.

Easy... Songs that get to me.. Space bound. I know its not typical but watching the video and relating it to people I cared about that I let down cause I wasn't healthy at that time... It gets me. It really helped me focus on making sure I was good before looking for things in others.

I can never get through this song without crying, I never had my dad right there for me after he got kicked out of my home when I was really little my second core memory is him getting kicked out, my first was him grounding me that same day for taking a juice pouch my mother told me to take, I know he did his best and he does do what he can still even though I’m an adult, this song has hit deep with me ever sense I was 9 probably because of that, and this song is what hooked me on hip hop for my entire life, this song really does cut deep for me it really does
