As a father who had to work a TON of 2nd/3rd shifts jobs, I missed a lot of my little girl's "childhood' due to simply doing what I had to do in order to make sure that she had ANYTHING that she wanted to have as a child. Not to mention the "basics" of clothes, food, and shelter.
So trust me, this song HITS LIKE A TON OF BRICKS on an emotional level because of all the things you might have missed, but knowing that your daughter has grown up in a home filled with nothing but love, and never had to face the struggles that I had to go through growing up. And to this day, even though she is 28 years old, I will CRUSH YOUR FACE if you do anything that upsets her in the slightest.
Trust me, I scared away a LOT of boys who were trying to date her over the years, and now that she is older and wiser... and saw what those boys did with other girls... she is thankful that I was there to look out for her.

My biggest fear as a future father is not being able to get my babies what they want and need because I was raised to be a provider and if I had to I would go back to trapping for my kids I do wrong for all the right reasons like he said “ I remember back one Christmas when daddy had no money mommy wrapped the presents up and stuck under the tree and some of em was from me because daddy couldn’t buy em and I remember that night I sat up the whole night crying because daddy felt like a bum and daddy had a job but his job was to keep food on the table for you and mom” my biggest fear is not having money and having to swallow my pride and ask my dad for money for Christmas for my kids but on the same hand i would be looking at what money I got sayin can I flip it and get the pack and hit the streets and make 2 grand for Christmas that’s why I’m going to college rn I’m a child of divorce I saw my single mother hide her emotions for 2 years before my step dad was around and he showed me how to be a man how to dress myself how to work bust my ass if I have to

Alaina was Kim's sisters till she ODed and Eminem become a father to her and Adopting her, Stevie was Kim and her other boyfriend kid after the boyfriend passed away in 2019 Eminem adopted Steve. All 3 grew up together and he Treated each one as one of his own even with 2 not being his blood..Nick cannon tried to diss that but to most it just show how kind hearted he is to the ones he loves.

As a parent, I can tell you this song hits differently than when I was in high school, first hearing it. My son's mom and I are doing everything we can for our little boy, but sometimes relationships don't work. I know she is a great mom and she knows I'm a great dad. It's stressful to think about the effect on the child, but sometimes it's for the best

I lost my mom when i was 9 and i lost my dad at 31 and im 33 now and damn has it been hard.
i looked at friends and other people to understand what motherly love is that bond how it connects and how different it can be compared to others.
my dad was a really though loss and it still hurts alot but losing them this early in life gave me so much life lessons and made me view life so differently then i did before.
I appriciate the fact you show emotions and its something you should not hold back for whatever reason or whoever may see it.
emotions are valid and you should be proud that you feel emotions, i have been emotionless because of all the things i went through and i finaly found emotions again when my dad died and it can be such a relief to finaly let those things out and clear the brain of the fogg.
accept what happend and go on with knowlage is my motto after all ive been through and it helps and i hope this will help someone else aswell.

Couldn't help but remember my father, he had his imperfections, we all do, but still he remained taking care of me to the very day he died. I remember drinking a passion juice the day after everything happened. He new it was my favorite, so he made it a day before and kept it fresh in a jar on the fridge that night, but never had a chance to enjoy it with me. I drank it with knots in my throat and tears in my eyes, couldn't handle it.

When we decided to put our cat down - she was extremely unwell - days before, I was bottling myself up so on way home from work, I played this song to get everything out. & even listening twitch again here, I still sobbed like a baby. But the thing is about sadness is you feel like you’re drowning & you’re down the gutter, but a long cry can do you wonders. I got home & said to myself: “I fucking needed that”
When you haven't lost them yet and they're not you're protector but rather you're attacker (passive or otherwise)..... That's the hard part to deal with.....

Easy... Songs that get to me.. Space bound. I know its not typical but watching the video and relating it to people I cared about that I let down cause I wasn't healthy at that time... It gets me. It really helped me focus on making sure I was good before looking for things in others.

I have no shame to admit that Mockingbird is the *first* and *only* song to ever make me cry. And that's what I appreciate with this song, Em really talked about the wrong and sometimes that's just what people need to hear
for me, it`s "Cleaning out my closet" as, for me, personally, it reminds me that me and my mum sadly never some stuff we`d been going through, before she sadly passed away in 2019, there`s not a day that goes by, where i don`t wish with all my heart that i`d managed to tell her i forgive her, and every time i hear that song, it brings those memories flooding back, always tell your loved ones that you love and care about them, and if there`s been issues between you, forgive each other, because you never know when it just might be too late.

27 years ago, two little girls about the same age as those in the video was at their home. One morning they went into their mum's bedroom to wake her up but couldn't. They rang their Grand Ma that was not that faraway down the street, for her to help them. She couldn't she was gone to the heavens.
She had ODed during the night on white heaven they called it, so the Police said.
Their Dad was not there as he was in prison on a drug related issue already.
I remember him saying that, that was the worst day in his life. As he could not be there to hold his kids to comfort them in this time of need.
He got out 2.5 years later but could not handle the outside of the prison walls, as he did not no longer belong here.
Less than 4 weeks he was back in Prison for 10 years on a dealing charge. After that he was only out for 3 weeks, then found the same way as his wife.
Both of the girls as far as I know are doing well , and are doing as much as they can to help support the young in the same situations as they were in when they were young.
