Listening to this as an 18 year old kid, he had such a cool sound. Everyone was playing it. Hearing it as a 45 year old man is different. You realize how mature he really was.
I also discovered him basically around the age of 15 (think it was "the way I am"). While I actually started learning english outside of school - just to understand his lyrics - I was not able to actually understand his messages until I re-heard them like 20-24 years later. it was cool back then with all his battle rap, his genius insults and stuff he actually made me cry the first time I understood the meaning of some of his lyrics when I "re-discovered" his old stuff
I was 18 when i first hurd this, from there i learned about him and love his music like most, 33 now, and now many if his songs beat his old music yet still he puts most in there place 🫨
That's what is amazing about music. It can hit different for everyone. Imagine someone who never had parents and listening to this song as if it's directed to them. :|
What your saying about Em being the king of bars and how also some of his music was so controversial yet he also has songs like this that make you emotional or songs that empower you are just reason why Em is the GOAT
That's the reason nobody can beat him he's four people in one body he's always fighting within himself winning battles so how can somebody else beat one of them
If I hear this or mockingbird, it makes me think of my daughter instantly and I need to fight tears. I was a heroin addict for 10 years. My daughter saved my life. Great, heartflet reaction ❤️
Congratulations for saving the both of you. I know it probably don't mean shit coming from a total stranger, but I'm proud of you. You made sure her light stayed bright and shining. 🙏😌
when older people tell me eminem is not good i think about songs like this and I just cant believe how ignorant they are to this. This song is so beautifuly tragic even as a teenager it would make me cry. My worst fear is to be a bad parent :/ but great video !
All these haters who say things like “Eminem doesn’t make music that I can relate to” are clearly either not a parent or have no conscience because songs like this, toy soldiers and mockingbird should relate to just about everyone on some level. Of course he has had many silly songs that are just cheesy fun and not to everyone’s taste but this song should appeal to just about every parent in the world
This song and video always hit me hard and haven't been around either for several years.... As a recovering addict, this hits way different. Didn't expect to cry right before bed lol. Genuine thanks for the reminder to you and Em.
Born in 84. Eminem is one of the only rappers I will actually listen to because his music isn't just music. I love to hear about real world situations/stories. His music is just so different from rappers from the 90s. He didn't go with the crowd, he did his own thing.
Eminem music can really be a therapy session sometimes. From getting bullied, to losing my grandparents, my addictions, dealing with life in general and now helping me as a single dad. This man been helping me get thru life for over 20 years. He makes you face your problems and demons so you don't bury them and become self destructive. Dope reaction!
This is my daughter's favorite song she's song she also loves pac and eazy e . I try to keep it old school as I can ,even back to the 20s or so we like remixes too. Almost forgot to mention she's 16 now.
I've absolutely loved em since he came out and growing up with him and watching him grow up and mature as an artist was amazing . He is truly a once in a lifetime artist and icon.
This is one of my favorites cuz it reminds me of when I made that mistake of going down the road of addiction n how important it was for me to get right so I could get back to my kids. N Eminem’s music was what helped me but the best part is that my son, who looks up to Em, would listen to his music and I truly believe it helped him too…❤❤❤
This is definitely it I lost my way and lost myself my kids my wife the are all alive and doing good but they are Alabama and I'm in Massachusetts haven't seen them in 4 years...and these past years I've been destroyed inside like you couldn't imagine ....this past month alone I been through even more with hospitals meds drugs loosing my sister rip....but before that I had already lost myself and didn't even realize it....and I been crying screaming yelling clawing crawling my way back to who I truly am I don't know how to get there but I want to so bad and this song helps me and reminds me of there still being a chance to fix it all
as a struggling dad to two daughters I just can't listen to Eminem's Mockingbird without breaking down but this song you covered as well as Beautiful or Space Bound hits me right in the feels too.
@GiftFromGod know how you feel bro I have 3 daughters and 2 sons and now 2 grandchildren and done it all on my own their mother left and never came back never got a reason why
Im new to his older music also, wish I could experience the heart twitching eye open lyrics with you ah. We're very similar, words out of my mouth girl. My first video of yours. Look forward to watching more. Love your reactions.
This song hits way way different now then it ever has. I just got my 8th year sober from heroin and meth Jan 6th, 2024! I went from a drug addict to General Manager working my way up the ranks of different companies and I was so wrapped up in my job and my career that my son told me” Dad you rather be at the restaurant with your employees then be home when your supposed to. I’m 33 and I just think if I don’t show up then I don’t have a job or this house or anything that he wants. I’m internally struggling on my position at work. Do I step back and take an assistant manager position so I’m home more often. I just don’t know anymore. Days I spend in my office 11-12 at night in tears because I have to get this schedule posted but I’m so exhausted from this 18 hr shifts ventures I go on but I have so much to do in the Resturant I feel.
This song takes on a different meaning when you consider the fact that Eminem had a near fatal overdose in 2007. 2 short years after Curtain Call came out. If Slim hadn't survived the overdose incident this song would hit very different.
Damn.. Every single time I see someone react to this song I get so emotional and I really feel with everyone who experienced the things Em brings up.. I had an alcoholic, depressed dad who suffered from Huntington's disease and had no job from.. Pretty much 1993-on.. But I mostly lived with my mom and feel like I had a good childhood, even if there of course were really tough moments from time to time. Seeing others, like yourself, who clearly haven't had it super easy growing up, react with the emotions shown in this video really has me teary eyed. Thanks for all the fine videos, Lilly Jane. Love from Sweden.
This song was written when he was deep into his addiction on drugs and he wrote this thinking he was going to die.... Really shows where the hook came from....

Hello Lilly, it is a pleasure to listen to you and see you react to Eminem's songs, since this rapper is my favorite mainly internationally. But obviously I haven't come here just to tell you this, but to recommend another song of his that you should listen to and it's "Mockingbird". Greetings from Spain!!!
Another Song you should definitely react to is "I need a Doctor". Especially as Eminem is showing Dr Dre his appreciation and also tells us how much he owes to Dr Dre
This is one of the best songs Eminem has done, i know it immediately in the back of my head when hearing it, even though it has been years since i listened to it. This song was a song i always listened to on the bus to school in the morning, takes me back 😊. Thank you for an amazing reaction to an amazing song that is beautiful and emotional by an amazing artist.
first time seeing this channel best song to react to +1 subscriber my first song that made me cry was Hailis Song not a father but always wanted to be but made me feel like i have one
chicks been through it, childhood trauma is hard, and its harder understanding what you've been through when you grow up. Looking at people and instantly understanding they don't get you, they don't understand the pain you've been through, and what's worse understanding those that have been through it..
1st listen to this what an emotional song while I can't relate, I can feel his pain and regret and I see why this would resonate withpeople, great reaction. What a song! Ps when are you coming back, I love your reactions especially Metallica!!
The thing that gets me with this song is how emotionally charged it is from the very first line you can hear it in his voice and lyrics. Usually songs build up to that level of intensity but Eminem holds nothing back right out of the gate.
Em penned this song at the height of his addictions, almost like a rememberane song for his children to let them know just how much he loved them , massive props to em for turning his life around and still killing it, check out his new album, houdini.
You should do one for soldier off eminem show or if you rather do rock, Tool's sober or aenima. Em and maynard are some, if not the best writers ever!!
This man has been showing us how real life can go every different way and how he has handled/worked through those situations. The amazing thing is he can diagram it all so well and he has been doing it for 30+ years. How many other 51 year old people are as wise as he is both lyrically and metaphorically
Hello, I just found your channel. I like your reactions, so I subscribed. The video i watched first was Linken Park "Crawling". Since seeing your emotional reaction to that video, I wanted to suggest to listen to "Lost" by them. It was a unreleased song from their Meteora album. For another song with Eminem, take a listen to "I Need A DR.", it has Eminem and Dr. Dre. Song is about the loyalty between them. Keep up the great reactions. R.I.P. Chester
Eminem has a lot of songs that allows you to understand his pain and his life, plus it goes to show that he's given up a lot to be one of the greatest in the rap scene with his story telling. he has songs that also connect with fans like with for me cleaning out my closet is one that I've gravitated towards since I was a kid because I understand what its like to have a mother who was never there or was abusive.
Em with certain tracks peels your layers of your walls back and gets right to the heart & soul to the point you find your eyes welling up because of raw emotion! Music that can do that is the best kind for me and Eminem has that amazing talent
"I'm thankful this man exists." As are a lot of his fans. Eminem is so misunderstood by the "hip hop heads" of the 90's. The ones who can't see past his skin color. Eminem has saved lives. Eminem has helped people through his music. His music can be therapy for those going through the same things he went through. To see someone be so open and vulnerable and not shy away from their issues and be completely true to who they are you RARELY see in music. He is a timeless artist.
100% have to check out Eminem, Castle and arose back to back in the same video. It's 2 part story about his fight with fame and addiction, it ripped me in two. 😢
First video I saw from you and love it. That song from Eminem is one of the most emotional ones to me.... "Mockingbird" is also very nice tho.... I like how u react to it... how u sympathize...
Seeing your genuine emotional reaction to this... This is the most connected to humanity I have felt in far too long. Thank you for making this video.💖💖
That’s why he didn’t tour much either because he didn’t wanna come home and Hailey be grown! Glad I got to see him live but back in the day he didn’t tour much Forreal! 💯 This song was made cuz he was addicted to drugs, he didn’t think he was gonna make it, that’s what this songs all about…🐐
I still know all the words to this song by heart till this day. It's one of my favorites. The song "headlights" or "difficult" are Eminem songs that are really emotional. They are also some of my favorite songs from Em. I highly reccomend you do a reaction to "difficult " in the future, (If you have not listened to it already.) I just remembered you did a reaction to headlights, already. Also, it is not Em but I also reccomend "yesterday" and "the waitress " by slug/atmosphere. Those are also heart wrenching songs that are well written, and really nice songs that tell a story.
I remember first time listening to Mockingbird, I was crying like little baby, it's such an emotional and serious songs of his, you need to react to it.
This song came out when my daughter was young and I was going through a divorce. This song tears me up every time I hear it. Emotionally, this song hits me hardest of all his music, but Kim from the Marshall Mathers LP hits me in a different way just due to the raw subject matter.
Yeah. Marshall Mathers has gone through so much growth and maturity over the course of his life. "Not Afraid" is probably one of my favorites. This wasn't the first reaction from you I've seen. But it's what made me hit subscribe.
I love watching Eminem reactors, altho i only have about 3 that i actually watch. Gonna add you to that list. My Darling is one of my favorites from Eminem, you should react to that.
This hits hard for me because I'm a full time single dad with full custody with a deadbeat Ex-Wife that is trying to forfeit all parental rights. When I have to work late and calls me to say I miss you daddy or the days when im sitting with my son and he says why is mommy gone or even the days when i get ready for work and take him to school and he doesn't want me to leave. Anything to do with kids it just rips at my heart like crazy.
Listening to this as an 18 year old kid, he had such a cool sound. Everyone was playing it. Hearing it as a 45 year old man is different. You realize how mature he really was.
FR he hits way different when u listen to him when your older... so much went over my head in my youth
Song came out in 2005, if you're 45 wouldn't that made you 26 in 05 ? also i agree his lyrics are so deep.
Your math ain’t mathing fam 🤣😂🤣😂
I also discovered him basically around the age of 15 (think it was "the way I am"). While I actually started learning english outside of school - just to understand his lyrics - I was not able to actually understand his messages until I re-heard them like 20-24 years later. it was cool back then with all his battle rap, his genius insults and stuff he actually made me cry the first time I understood the meaning of some of his lyrics when I "re-discovered" his old stuff

This and mockingbird make a grown man like me cry. Always heard them before but when you're a dad shit just hits different.
That’s a fact
Way different 😢
That's what is amazing about music. It can hit different for everyone. Imagine someone who never had parents and listening to this song as if it's directed to them. :|
100% true ;)
100% brother

Born 1995 🙋🏼♂️ grew up with EM one thing that made me grow in my younger years is his music ❤️
1994 here. Same. I'm grateful he is still putting out too, forever will be a fan for sure.
Slim Shady makes you laugh, Marshall makes you cry, Eminem makes you think, Brabbit makes you fight
True😊
word
been listing to em since i was 3 years old
That's the reason nobody can beat him he's four people in one body he's always fighting within himself winning battles so how can somebody else beat one of them

Another absolute slapper by Eminem… and “Space Bound” is an amazing song too
Definitely

Love is Evol spell it backwards and I’ll show ya
Also , 'if i had' and 'role models" .. if you haven't heard them tell me what you think 🤟
This is not just a song.. THIS IS MASTERPIECE... So Touchful.. Em is the best rapper, and the best story teller in the world..
when older people tell me eminem is not good i think about songs like this and I just cant believe how ignorant they are to this. This song is so beautifuly tragic even as a teenager it would make me cry. My worst fear is to be a bad parent :/ but great video !

I started to cry when I saw her crying

He came up after the 90’s in the 90’s pac/big/nas/big l/ guru were all amazing story tellers
Eminem is such an elite story teller, he makes you feel every word even if you never gone through something like that personally.
The best English-speaking storytelling in Hip Hop, ever, imho (at least within the "mainstream").
I appreciate the raw, real reaction. It's a very emotional song.
Her emotions themselves made a tear...as you said : I appreciate the raw, real reaction. I second that!
Ill always have love for Em
You're obviously a really caring mum, don't stress you're doing a great job I can tell by how much U care...
I do not have children, I just try to understand where other people are coming from.
My favorite track.
Emotion is somting i havent realy felt ...had so much crap happen in my my life am numb to it but this an mocking bird brings me to tears every time ❤

His NEWEST verse….. “Lace It” Juice WRLD ft. Eminem….. talk about an emotional song with a message that the entire world needs to hear.
his newest albums became straight up satanic shit, bro sold his soul and went into the dark.
This song takes on a different meaning when you consider the fact that Eminem had a near fatal overdose in 2007. 2 short years after Curtain Call came out. If Slim hadn't survived the overdose incident this song would hit very different.
This song will always hit hard. I get chills everytime n when I need a reality check I turn to this song.
I LOVE YOU ❤❤❤ You cute, honest- not afraid if having a little true tear - new Subscriber here 🎉
think its funny people discovering the real eminem, the eminem pleople like me knew for ever since day one, yeah his "old" stuf is hits "hard"
I think you would enjoy his new song " " somebody save me "
Damn.. Every single time I see someone react to this song I get so emotional and I really feel with everyone who experienced the things Em brings up.. This is why Em doesn't do tours cause he doesn't want to miss out on the importance of his family and to not slip back into addictions
This song was written when he was deep into his addiction on drugs and he wrote this thinking he was going to die.... Really shows where the hook came from....
Lilly, I feel your anxiety and emotions you have for music!! Your body language is a vibe and says a lot about you!
yes its a fuckn great song and mc

100% agree banger song a true thank you letter from em to dre and even from dre to em
Beautiful tribute❤
I remember he use to makes jokes in his rap saying I am Marshall Mathews and I am a alcoholic.
Biting his words
This is one of the best songs Eminem has done, i know it immediately in the back of my head when hearing it, even though it has been years since i listened to it.
This song was a song i always listened to on the bus to school in the morning, takes me back 😊.
Thank you for an amazing reaction to an amazing song that is beautiful and emotional by an amazing artist.
Headlights by Eminem is a good one if you want to hear his apology to his mom.
“Space Bound” and “Beautiful” are awesome

BABY D. Let me Be your fantasy
I’ve had my share of issues with drugs and alcohol, so his songs Deja Vu and Going Through Changes really fuck me up emotionally.

The thing that gets me with this song is how emotionally charged it is from the very first line you can hear it in his voice and lyrics. Usually songs build up to that level of intensity but Eminem holds nothing back right out of the gate.
I'm at the 3min mark and have to say your breakdown of this song was explained better than any rea tion I've seen, great analysis.

First Eminem song that made me tear up was Mocking Bird
This man has been showing us how real life can go every different way and how he has handled/worked through those situations. The amazing thing is he can diagram it all so well and he has been doing it for 30+ years. How many other 51 year old people are as wise as he is both lyrically and metaphorically

When this song came out my local radio station played this 13 times in a row, and nobody complained, everyone loved it.
One of his greatest hits❤
I fought through it I wasn't supposed to live past 5 years old
Seeing you Quiver listening to this song is fascinating. Never seen someone have such an intense emotional reaction to a song.
I love to hear your perspective on these Eminem songs. I learn something new about one of his songs every time I watch one of your videos

First video I saw from you and love it. That song from Eminem is one of the most emotional ones to me.... "Mockingbird" is also very nice tho.... I like how u react to it... how u sympathize...
He said in an interview years ago that Hailey told him she understood and never held it against him.
Classic track, very much looking forward to this reaction Lilly!

Mockingbird is another Great emotional song by Eminem, I hope you react one day 😂😂😂
I remember first time listening to Mockingbird, I was crying like little baby, it's such an emotional and serious songs of his, you need to react to it.
this one kills me..... Every, damn, time..... xD
This song came out when my daughter was young and I was going through a divorce. This song tears me up every time I hear it. Emotionally, this song hits me hardest of all his music, but Kim from the Marshall Mathers LP hits me in a different way just due to the raw subject matter.
Loved it.
Castle and Arose. I was sitting on the bus when I heard them and almost started crying on the bus.
