You should start your own skincare line!! I would totally trust you with my skin. ✨
Totes 100%👏👏
nooo she needs to stay unbiased
Me too!
I love your plant jacket... and your brain! NO, not a zombie, but appreciator of the educational content ;)
I love the way you talk, the clarity, the articulation!
Great post, thanks Michelle! Love your high quality contents ❤️❤️❤️
Missed your amazing videos!! thanks for the detailed explanations💖
I'm in love with this channel! Have been binge watching your videos for a week...
wow this gold! so well explained! thx for the time and effort to make these videos
What a fantastic video, Michelle! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I've been trying to understand how antioxidants work and your video has been the most useful one. I can now make more informed choices when purchasing a skin care item. Thanks for all your hard work
Just started (and just learned of you 2 days ago. Binging!), but that plant jacket is goals! 🌱I have a similar shirt and headscarf.
I love your work!!! Thanks for this!
What do you think about Astaxanthin?
It seems to have some research suggesting that it protects skin from uv damage. love your videos xx
Thank you for all the information you put out there 🥰
First of all, I love this jacket. Your videos and written content are always nice. Cheers!
Such an amazing video! Thank you so much. :)
Antioxidants are so important for health! Love that we understand their role better.
Love you, Michelle -- keep up the good work!
Really informative thank you! Also love your jacket 😍
Thank you, this is so helpful.
Love your videos so much!! 💗
wishi could give this video a million likes. So informative and knowledgeable on antioxidant. Thx so much.
I did not know that catalase could be good to prevent grey hair, very intriguing! Do the research suggest topical application or supplements?
what about ginseng? is there any valid info on it's antioxidant/brightening effects!
This was so informative!!! Can you also do a video on alcohol in skincare?
awesome video, really easy to understand thanks
Thanks so much for another informative and fun video, Michelle! What are your thoughts on the effectiveness of vitamin C derivatives? e.g. most eye creams would include vitamin c derivatives instead of L-Ascorbic Acid because it would be too much for the skin around the eyes.
I love the way explain everything .. Would you please talk about hyaluronic acid in the future videos !
Great video!!
very informative video
thanks for your sincere efforts
I love this video in so many ways 😻😻😻 I’ve shared it with friends and I have even shared it in my Facebook 😺
Good information on
Anti oxidants. Thanks.
I love this video, I needed it for a while, but maybe you forgot to mention other types of cosmetic antioxidants (like niod or the ordinary that has many) and what kind of visible effect we could expect. because retinol, vitamin c, for example, have a visible effect such as "whitening" or "redefining the surface" but what about the other?
I'm intrigued by catalase! Especially since i have greying hair at a young age. Do you know where I can find more info? Are there such things as catalase supplements or skincare? Thanks for the video! Super informative as usual!
this video give what I need. my research is about identification about antioxidant in lime peel. thank you. :D
Hi! Love your videos! Isn’t niacinamide an antioxidant as well? Thank u for your content! :)
10:15 best
Apply vitc before sun
Very informative and helpful, thank you. How is the data on Superoxiddismutase? I think I remember reading a few articles about it, but I can´t remember which kind of studies it were. Curious because you mentioned it in the beginning, but not when listing the proven ones.
Linda Libra Loca There isn't much info in terms of application to normal skin...
Michelle, could you review and give your thoughts on MAKING COSMETICS cream bases? they are meant to be customized but just the bases alone have some good ingredients list. Anything you would recommend?
Thanks very much for a very informative video! I was wondering if you could say something about the pH level for absorbtion of the product?
The Beauty Economist I have a separate video on that!
I always learn something new from you! And am I the only one that heard the “byeeee” at the end and though of Alaska Thunderf*ck?
I feel you 😂😂😂
haha first thing i thought when i heard it
Such a good video
thx a lot.
The skin Deva coebzyme q100 product contains matrixyl 1000. Does it cause photksensitivity?
Thanks
Pls do a review of The Body Shop 💗
Do you have other product recommendations, such as sheet masks?
Thank youuuu
Hi Michelle. Please answer this question!! You mentioned on your DIY vitamin C serum that vitamin C can stain your skin. Have you noticed any change in the color of your skin with your DIY serum? Any advices to avoid it? In what order should I introduce it in my skin care routine? 1-Cleanser; 2-Michelle’s DIY Vitamin C serum; 3-azelaic acid? or 4-Moisturizer? and 5-Oil serum?.
Really? Antioxidants could keep cancer cells alive? I'm really shocked now. I thought it was the other way round. That they would help keep those unwanted cells under control. Of course am talking about supplements taken orally. Great video as usual.
Ruby F Yep, everyone thought they'd be helpful at first... but then they did some clinical trials and the results turned out to be mixed :\ Luckily fresh fruit and vegetables have always been good for you!
Lab Muffin Beauty Science that's good to hear. Actually I was taking asthaxantin. Now am insecure.. anyway thanks again.
@ There's always a number of factors to be considered, many of which are conveniently ignored to get a point across, so a study with a conclusion doesn't say much.
I drink matcha green tea, so should I get some of that matcha powder and make a mask out of it?
How can i incorporate antioxidants with peroxide benzoile in my skin care routine? I have acne prone
What about blueberries? I remember reading somewhere that this fruit has the highest amount of antioxidants compared to most others.
Please please make a brand overview and products you recommend from GARDEN OF WISDOM.
Hi Michelle! Can vitamin c be used together with CoQ10 in the same routine?
What are the dermatological effects of di- _tert_ -butylphenols at typical concentrations in cosmetics?
Hi Michelle! Amazing video, as always! But I would like to ask you what do you think about alfa-lipoic acid as an antioxidant? I’ve been using the ordinary one for a while and it seems like it has a really strong effect!
How did you find the ordinary products
@@hafsaahmed3260 if u r in pakistan. There is a fb group skin pick me up that delivers ordinary products. Other than that in Lahore Alfatah store has some products frm the ordinary range
@Tina Yael Severinova M. do you use the ordinary caffeine eye cream all over your face in the morning under sunscreen and makeup? How does it look? Some people say it's drying. What do you think?
@Tina Yael Severinova M. thank you for the quick response! I can see why you would use it that way because it's such a powerful antioxidant. I'm curious how long a bottle lasts you, using it that way? I have the ordinary vitamin C in silicone 30% and I like it but it's very strong so I have to dilute it because a little goes such a long way.
@Tina Yael Severinova M. thanks for explaining. I'll be sure to put moisturizer and sunscreen over it. Looking forward to trying it! I've heard it's really good for anti-aging
Hi Michelle. Is retinol an antioxidant?
Thank you, super interesting video! I'm a bit confused - are UV rays free radicals? Thanks!
UV rays are not free radicals but they produce free radicals when they penetrate your skin.
Have you tested out the Ethylated Ascorbic Acid 15% from The Ordinary? Do you know if it's effective? Thanks for creating such informative videos!
Unni T I haven't tried it yet! Generally vit C derivatives aren't as proven or useful as the OG ascorbic acid.
I bought the ordinary euk34?? I've used it once, what does it do can't find much information about it as an ingredient.
What about retin A products ( retinoic acid)???
What do you think about EUK 134 0.1% from the ordinary?
My sunscreen contains vit E, but the percentage isnt disclosed should i still include in my routine an antioxident focused product?
Hey Michelle,
Can Vitamin E and ferulic acid be added to your Vitamin C recipe? I'm already making the Vitamin C, but it would be good to add in those other ones 😊
Also, what do you think of caffeine as an antioxidant?
Do DNA enzymes in skincare work at all?
Like Priori’s dna recovery serum?
what about I apply a capsule of vitamin E on my face? would it work as a serum?
Thanks for the video! When I use products with vitamin c, I tend to have a reaction... I break out with little small bumps. I am going to see a dermatologist soon but would you say that I'm allergic vitamin c??
Annasthesia Dapaah - Comfort I break out if it has fragrance or essential oils. Ingredients such as citrus, lavender or rose oils.
One word: *purging*
Vitamin C is quite reactive with skin more than glycolic acid purges!!
Its been around a year and I'm still getting used to Vitamin C I have very sensitive skin but it is my only saviour for the amazing things it does plus the availability.....(even Gothamista said in her latest video that she purged for about 6 months from Vitamin C)
What do you think about melatonin in skincare products?
I heard anti-oxident serums should come in airless pump. Can you recommend some antioxidant serums?
Hey actually i have a question :) you mention that applying topical antioxidant is better before exposure to UV radiation as apposed to after, as much of the damage may already have been done. Is there data around how long the topical application will continue to benefit your skin? For example, I apply my morning routine at 8am, moisturise, EGCG serum, sunscreen and then head out to work, many hours in the sun and come home at 6pm. For how many hours is that ECGC (or other AO) helping to combat the free radicals? And if its only a few hours, should I reapply during the day? Appreciate there may not be data on this, but any thoughts from you would be cool! thx!! :)
Pls teach us some chemistry
When I watch your video I feel like I’m hearing you a minute later versus the movement of your mouth...🤔 Am I the only one?? On the other hand love your videos! 💖
Vz Kjean I was having some issues with my microphone - I've bought a new one though so hopefully it'll be better soon! 😅
Lab Muffin Beauty Science Haha all right! Keep up the good work💜😇
Can anyone please name me some antioxidant serum?
Can Idebenone replace vitamin c?
I see a lot of fruit extracts in skin care, do they really have vitamins and antioxidants?
They might or might not - there isn't a good way of telling unfortunately!
Watching this reminds me that I have some paper that I promised to look up research about how antioxidant may worsen cancer patient.
I think it also worth to be noted that ascorbyl palmitate is not a very good choice as antioxidant active since the palmitate can worsen UV damage (even though some people suggest to wear it under sunscreen so it will not be a problem).
Hi! I have heard earlier some talk on the ascorbyl palmitate being some degree of photosensitive, but, that there is not enough research on this - but have never heard it can worsen skin damage - could you refer me to where you have read that? Thank you!
Does Niacinamide protect against UV damage??
Hi, may I ask what is the best cleanser for blackheads? I've lot of blackheads on my face. It's like I have beads on my face when I'm washing them.
Thanks so much! :)
ZapZyt acne cleanser. The salicylic acid is good for blackheads, but be sure to follow up with a good moisturizer :)
I hope your book will sell on Amazon that I can buy it!
8:22 that moment was cute to me😄
Luv the vid! I would have loved some skincare examples for each antioxidant though. Im just lazy that way XD
Three are some examples for each in the video information above :)
Your voice sounds like mocca's vocalist omgg
It is true that q10 ubiquinol molecules are too big to be absorbed into skin?
Rewatching this video made me put on my vitamin c serum and make a fruit smoothie 😂🍌🍓🥥
Are there any cosmetics with green teal polyphenols? I couldn't find any... if anyone has ideas, I'd appreciate a pointer.
There sure are, but many (if not most of them) list green tea polyphenols as EGCG. So you may have better luck finding something if you search for that keyword. The one I have is the Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG from The Ordinary. It is supposed to be an eye serum but it irritates my eye area and I can't use it for its intended purpose. I didn't want to throw it away though, so I figured: why not use it for the rest of my face that isn't as irritation prone. It has been working great for me.
I love Plant Jacket!!!! Is there a cake jacket?? Surely there is a cocktail jacket...lizard jacket??? I'm very keen on chameleons. The ideal day clearly involves at least 3 jackets. My plain jacket is useless.
Pencilfriend Paperscribbler I definitely need more lurid jackets! I have a lot of skirts and dresses but they don't work so well for videos unfortunately...
Ordering vitamin C online is like taking a risk for me. Most of them arrived oxidized. Can I use the ordinary resveratrol+ferulic as my anti oxidants in skincare?
Same ,haha may natry kana ba vitamin c serum?
@@markya3874 no. Never. Haha
Im thinking to try q10 or resveratrol also for antioxidant instead of vitamin c
@@markya3874 the ordinary have the resveratrol+ferulic.
Would you be able to suggest a few products that are effective?
alexx In the caption! 😉
Lab Muffin Beauty Science oh d'oh completely missed that! Thanks! If you don't mind, where in my routine would I fit it in? I currently use Kikumasamune High Moist Lotion, Mandelic Acid 5% (weekly), Hada Labo Premium HA, and TO argan oil.
You are so beautiful!
Anh Mai Thank you! ❤️
Michele talking aout free radicals reinds me of some lonely thirsty men I've seen.
Talk about layering the ordinary products
Glycolic acid and lactic acid alpha arbutin in the night
Ascorbyl glucoside 12% in the morning and how long should this routine be followed for brightening up the skin tone
I 👨 believe topical antioxidants are overrated, doesn’t REALLY work ( does not penetrates the skin) and a hype pushed by cosmetic companies to sell MORE crap to weak people. I’ve used serums to lotions to potions, NONE of which I’ve saw ANY differences. My rule: eat your colorful veggies, fruits and brans on a daily bases, use Retin- A cream/gel, a good night/day face moisturizer, and your fave sunscreen(s). Also, lots of water and avoid as much sugar as you can. DO NOT‼️ buy into the craziness of buying Toners. See, it’s THAT simple and cost less down the road.
Vitamin C works pretty well, and it's quite well documented that antioxidants can help "cheat" SPF tests by decreasing redness (although whether it's a bad thing is up for debate). I think a lot of antioxidants and antioxidant products probably don't work, but some of them do!
You didn't see a difference because antioxidants are largely preventative. At least I thought that was the assumption we are operating under. What were you expecting to see?
50% agree. Some antioxidants can penetrate skin to the point that they're useful. Such as vitamin c. Even some plant extracts. But not all are effective and deep penetrate. And yes, why do we need toner thing. I don't understand too. A serum concentrated with active ingredients and a moisturizer will do.
Just eat that stuff and you save tons of money and time
I wish she was less technical than this, its so confusing....we want the info after all!
