I think he children are wearing those costumes because it’s later at night and they go to bed soon after this scene. The adults, it’s an older ballet and it wasn’t set in America, where I’m assuming you are from since you’re asking this, so they where different things. Theatrical costumes are a little weird too tho
These previews say so much about the Boston Ballet. The insular arrogance and hubris of a lesser company to have cast Joy Womack as an aunt! Thankfully CoVid struck, so she managed to flee such misguided casting!

They are 1820s empire silhouette dresses, they do kinda look like night gowns but that was the style for the time. You can search it up.
