I'm not crazy about the involvement of Uncle Drosselmeyer and Clara with the Polichinelles, but the little kids and "Mother" were great!

me too, just leave Clara and Drosselmeyer on the throne. I didn't like the choreo for the kids, it's probably because I grew up with Balanchine's version and am used to that.

Is it weird to say I prefer the Balanchine version of this?? The kids dance more in that version and I'm not impressed how they put Clara and Drosselmeyer dancing for 90% of the time.

@@artsforthestage The kids look younger in this version, I guess that's why the choreography looks simpler. The Polis for the Balanchine version are slightly older (like 10-12 year olds) and they had harder things in it like pas de chats and tour jetes.

We actually got to see it this past Sunday. Our granddaughter was a member of the cast in the roles of lead reindeer and Sugar Plum attendant. The entire show was great.
