    I was twice taken to the emergency room due to panic attacks, and after that, I experienced daily panic attacks that began to seriously interfere with my workday. During each panic attack, I experienced pins and needles running around my head and had a feeling of impending doom, as if I was having a stroke or something. I quit drinking alcohol completely over three months ago, and all my symptoms have disappeared.

      That's amazing! I've heard similar stories on youtube that people with anxiety go sober and the anxiety magically goes away! Haha, "magically". I didn't have major anxiety but in the days between drinking I had a black cloud hanging over me, I felt like something bad was going to happen all the time and I just got used to it. For example at work I felt like I was going to get fired at any second, even though I was performing well. When I would get into a lift I would be sure that it'd malfunction and I'd get stuck. When I was in a car I was sure that we'd have a crash...it's no way to live. 1 year and 9 months sober today :)

      This exact thing is happening to me. I’ve been in the er twice now for panic attacks. I get pins and needles in my face and sometimes in my pinkies and ring fingers and then I feel like I’m going to die for no reason. I’ve been trying so hard to figure out what it was.

    • @wildboy747
      @wildboy747 5 месяцев назад

      @@Mrsirwinsalott It took a few weeks. During that time there were some minor comebacks of anxiety for unknown reasons but it slowly faded away. I was taking this calming syrup (hydroxyzine) every time I felt the beginning of a panic attack. At some point, I was so good at predicting that it was coming that I took my syrup a few minutes before the attack so that the initial hit was smoothed away and was more bearable.

    That was the number one reason for me quitting drinking. I used to think anxiety and panic attacks only happened to weak minded people. In my case. I was not entirely wrong. I had several E.R. visits due to me thinking that I was having a heart attack. It's been over two years (December 6th, 2021) and quitting the sauce is the best decision I have made as an adult, hands down. If you are having a rough time quitting alcohol or going through anxiety/depression. I want you to know that you are loved, and this too shall pass. Keep working out, especially outside, keep praying/meditating and Breathe deep...

It’s too big of an assignment, and it’s not my place; but maybe you should step away from it for a bit. You’re still fun, charming, and humorous when you’re sober. I just went thru this. Drunk a 12 pack on Saturday woke up was fine at first couple hours later started to feel confused then my chest tightened up and started panicking my legs felt weak and shaky than felt like I was bout to pass out. Called 911 they stayed on the phone till I made it to the er. They checked my blood and heart they said everything looked fine that I was dehydrated and it was prbly the alcohol. I drank again the next week 8 beers this time and the same thing happened even after drinking water. had 3 minor panick attacks the same day. Even the day after got another minor panick attack from being physically active that day. Drank a lot of water slowly it went away. Just threw the rest of the beer away I had left in the fridge. Think it’s time I give it up I’m 38 now been drinking since I was 21

    I used to drink and smoke weed heavily. It was a coping mechanism that worked well… until it abruptly stops. It eventually turns on you. I have been sober from alcohol for over two years and I have not smoked weed for over four years. For ten plus years, I loved the feeling of inebriation and having either alcohol or weed take control of my brain. Now I prefer a sober reality - where I am in control. Call it maturity, call it being sick and tired of being sick and tired.
    Noah, I believe a switch has been turned on in your brain where it’s time to try a sober life. It’s not easy. If alcohol is suddenly turning on you, that’s a wake up call that should be considered. If countless rehabs has not helped you from refraining from alcohol use, your brain is letting you know it is time by these intense feelings.
    It also could be a subconscious guilty thought that is tormenting and causing panic. You have tried to get help multiple times for alcohol use. It seems to work for a while. Then you believe it’s okay for a few beers because you feel you have been “healed.” We are alcoholics - there is no such thing as a few beers. That’s a lot of time, effort, energy and money to be wasted to constantly start over again. What is the end game when you leave a rehab - to drink in moderation or to celebrate a week of sobriety with a beer?
    This is what I have gathered from the many videos I have watched from your channel.
    I discovered your channel over four years ago in one of my deepest and darkest holes. You made me feel okay about my addictions, suicidal ideations, anxiety, depression, depersonalization, catastrophic thinking and weird obsessions. I wholeheartedly thank you for that. I wish you luck and God bless, Noah.

    I honestly thought I was the only one who had these crazy anxiety attacks in the morning after drinking. I’ve recently felt the exact same way after having a fun Friday night and coming home to crash and waking up with a racing heart. I thought I was having a heart attack the first time and clung onto my boyfriend for comfort cause I didn’t know what was going on. Then I realized I would feel that way every time I would drink on the weekends. I’ve don’t binge drink anymore on the weekends and try to remind self that I can still have a fun times with friends doing other activities besides drinking. You making this video gave me so much reassurance! Thanks so much dude!

    I had a derealization panic attack in 2010. I was out disc golfing and drinking beer too. Everything became like a video game, my blood pressure was 194/111. Went to er. They said I was having alcohol withdrawals which is a lie. I was drinking and smoking weed. It triggered it. They gave me Ativan and I got addicted to it. 2010 wasn't a good year. Edit, I weened myself off of Ativan, still fighting the demon alcohol on and off since.

    I am so happy I kicked alcohol. but I realize it's very hard for lots of folks. if I think about alcohol, I immediately think of the hangovers, the black outs, the depression, and above all else as a binge drinker, the potential to literally ruin my life in a matter of minutes solely due to booze.
    booze is my mortal enemy. it wants to destroy me. I have no more room for it in my life.

    Happened to me back in June ‘22. I used to do day drinking fairly often, and as we already know, alcohol messes with your sleep big time. So one day I drank, not a lot, but I couldn’t sleep at all, and the next day I needed to wake up early for work. I was so exhausted I drank a very strong freaking coffee. Couple of hours later and my body went into fight or flight mode. Worst day ever.

    My worst panic attacks in the past were always at night time. I think it's something to do with the disorientation from being half asleep.

    This happened to me as well. It's actually happened twice. I remember you talking about having dissociation before. It's similar. I quit drinking a week ago, hence why I came across this video. What sucks too is the withdrawals also cause brain fog and more dissociative symptoms. You know you have bad anxiety when a bunch of alcohol (which suppresses anxiety chemicals) literally can't keep from panic.

    Noah…I completely understand what you are saying. Understand how you felt….As I grew older, I began to notice that my body no longer tolerates binge drinking….Between weekend binges with monthly breaks here and there, I learned of something called, ‘kindling’… Where withdrawals get more severe over time after the completion of each binge. I never was one to drink day and night for week, months, even years….but those breaks between binges did more harm than good, in spite of drinking less than being drunk 24 hours a day.
    My anxiety got increasingly worse over time, and I realized that I needed to stop. It’s beea year and 8 months, and I still would like a good beer binge on some good holiday weekend….but I know I can’t do it….The pain of anxiety, depression, palpitations, and other horrible withdrawal symptoms don’t seem worth it…There is something to being content with that inner peace which comes with being sober and rested.
    Take care of yourself man. 🙏🏾✌🏾

    • @dragorn3212
      @dragorn3212 Год назад +2

      I think i developed kindling as well. I tried to taper down by only having one drink before lunch instead of my usual 5-6 since i was technically at work. Well this triggered a serious anxiety and panic feeling since my mind was expecting a bunch more alcohol to come. The scary thing is that it's happened several times now and each time i say "this is it im never doing this again" but eventually i do. I really need to find it in me not to, i have pre-existing heart condition that makes it dangerous for me to mess around with this. When i use to drink every single day i never had this issue. It's only when i switched to 3-4 day binges

And last year, I had the same thing happen to me with alcohol. It sent me into one of the most miserable, terrifying, uncomfortable 3-4 months of my life up to this point. Granted there were more things going on than just alcohol, but all of it was triggered by one night of heavy drinking. I'm very careful with all substances now. I quit nicotine and caffeine, and rarely drink alcohol. And I take my physical health, an mental health way more seriously along with my sleep. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I’m a binge drinker and I can go weeks, even months without drinking but as soon as I drink it, I don’t stop until I either pass out, in a homeless shelter, hanging out with the addicts, or at a random strangers house. It’s a disease and I just have to accept the fact that alcohol isn’t for me even though life gets boring at times without drinking, but I
    Know it will get better once my brain gets use to sobrity. I am currently 1 day and 12 hours sober from a 36 hour binge that ended me in an ambulance because apparently drug addicts just want to pick fights on people and they’ll hate you for nothing if you don’t do drugs. Anywho, I blame myself for hanging out in that homeless environment because of the stupid decisions I make if I drink one alcohol which turns into 10 units until I get stupidly drunk.

    I’ve had a lot of issues after drinking. Usually a depressive/ low mood or jittery and nervous. It creates inflammation and causes all sorts of weird changes in the body. Also higher estrogen. That alone can cause anxiety! Glad you’re all good.

    Every single time I drink I take it too far to the point the session starts at 4, 5pm and lasts to 5am. This can consist of several different drinks e.g. pints of lager, double vodkas, shots, the odd malt whiskey. Ive been taking extreme extreme anxiety attacks the following 2 days after a binge session to the point I convince myself im dying, im going to drop dead, I'm losing the plot and will get sectioned. I also cant eat nor sleep for days and causes more anxiety. I started screaming on sunday after a 48hr session, must have drank over 100 units. Im done with alcohol now this was the final straw. Good luck.

Suddenly I felt horrible anxiety and trouble breathing. I was on my knees hyperventilating… asking my girlfriend for help between breaths. I thought I was dying it was one of the scariest experiences of my life.

    I've been dealing with something like this off and on for years. I've started and stopped drinking so many times because of it. I have chronic anxiety and I used alcohol as a crutch to get through a lot of things, but when I started having anxiety, panic attacks, and DPDR after drinking, I had to become very careful about it and eventually I stopped for about 5 years because I didn't even enjoy it anymore because of how bad the hangover anxiety was and how little I enjoyed it because of depression. I started drinking a little recently, and the effect is mostly gone as long as I don't take it too far.
    I don't know what causes it, but I can tell you that there's some kind of physiological cause to it. It might be gut biome related, you could have some mild general anxiety right now without realizing it, or it could be something else. In my experience, it comes and goes, and you will probably be able to enjoy alcohol again in the future, but be careful with it for now.

    I've never heard of this. I have had the issues with weed, and after one VERY paranoia filled night after some strong weed, I never wanted to smoke it again. That was over 20 years ago.
    My thoughts are: at least you don't want to try any of it again so far, I would consider it a harsh lesson, but lesson learned? I hope you don't have to go through that again though, having any sort of bad trip from anything you were expecting fun from, isn't fun.

    I’ve been heavily drinking regularly for the past 6 years or so. 29 years old now, and recently have been having mini panic attacks and anxiety around noon the day after drinking. I never know exactly when it’s going to hit, but when it does I just feel like my heart is going to explode or I have an extreme fear of death which is ridiculous because I’m healthy, I regularly go to the doctor because my job makes me. I feel like I’m going to die, like my heart is going to explode or my head is going to explode. I’ve got to stop drinking so much.

    I was on TRT after feeling real fatigue all the time at age 37. Then my Doctor put me on TRT and the first doses change my life. I was so happy on TRT then after 3 years I started having high Hemoglobins so my doctor recommended me to donate red blood cell. The problem was that every time I donated blood I felt horrible and weak. I started having anxiety and my attitude was always mad. Then I had a panic attack at work and I taught I was dying. Long story short the Doctors told me I didn’t have anything wrong with me health wise. So my panic attacks kept happening so I quit cold turkey (TRT) and I been off 3 years now, but my days are hit and miss. Any suggestions for vitamins or natural boost to increase testosterone normally would be appreciated.

But drinking as adults with life partners involved and financial commitments hit differently for me. This has never happened for me but I suddenly have this massive self loathing feeling. Ok well thank you so much for your video. I binged drink on vacation and had what i now learned an intense hangxity. Literally was so paranoid and thought i was dying (this isn’t my personality). I had to call my mom because i truly couldn’t escape the idea of pending doom, heart was racing, couldn’t sit down, couldn’t think straight only thing that calmed me down was my mom who talked me down until i fell asleep. I am not normally a binge drinking but in my 27 years NEVER experienced this. It was so bad i had anxiety on and off 2 times after that because i was so scared of feeling that way again so i haven’t and the one time i had 2 martinis 2 months after not drinking i started feeling anxious again. I just don’t understand after being in my early 20s, never expediting a blackout and able to binge drink i never experienced this until now. Went to the dr they just said it was anxiety & that I’m fine but like no one told me until this video that it was due to binge drinking… wow. Thank you for your video. & these comments really help

    Yeah drinking elevates any anxiety over issues you were handling before drinking. It is a vicious cycle. You get a euphoric high than a crash the next day which includes hangiety. My worst hangover was at a wedding that had an open bar with old fashioned cocktails. Worst headache of all time. I just stopped this Wednesday after a night out after seeing Pearl Jam with a friend of mine.
