    I enjoyed this project and can't wait to try your trick of zigzagging the binding (especially for kids's quilts and table runners/placemats). I would like to have seen the zigzag on the back of the runner as well. GREAT tutorial - now I want the ruler, too! :)

    Hi I think the idea is great but don't understand how you still end up with 10ins squares which you mark the backing with when you are taking 1/4ins out for each of the seems?

    • @GEDesigns
      @GEDesigns  8 лет назад

      +jannyb55 It is still going to be 10" wide because we are not doing any seams that direction.

    Do you sew the first and last pieces down when you start and finish, or do you secure it down when you put the binding on?

    I just bought the stripology mini ruler. Can you do this design in smaller version? What do you recommend?

    • @cherylpetersen1858
      @cherylpetersen1858 3 года назад

      You can actually make the cuts however you want as long as you cut more than 1/4 inch (allow seam allowance at the top and bottom. Just make the cuts at an angle. She also discussed 10 inch markings on her batting; however, she did not allow for seam allowance. Look at some simple improv videos for more deatails too. I hope this helps you.

    How long is the batting and the backing for this table runner??

    • @GEDesigns
      @GEDesigns  6 лет назад +2

      You are using a 1/3 yard of fabric for the back so I leave it the full width of the fabric. So backing and batting measure about 12" x 42" to begin with

    I like the pattern, the tutorial was great . Great way to do the binding......BUT after 6 years of home economics with Mrs Robinson.....your choice of material / matching is well strange. I guess it is a different era....We were taught to match things up now days anything goes (cringe)
