Need to change my air filter and this was the perfect how-to video. Was surprised how much parts need to be removed just to get to the filter but looks a relatively easy job. I also noticed the part no. for the 2022 air filter is the same for the 2021 and earlier Grom filters, but the shape of both filters is very different, so it's important to look at the shape before buying. Thanks for making this video.

Nice work my friend! Have you seen the new air box cover from TST?? Looks pretty good and it changes the tone of the bike. Thinking about getting it.

Have you taken off the clutch cover and cleaned the spinner thingy and cleaned the slip out screen?

Not yet. Maybe in 2024. I think there is a gasket, so I will order one first, then we can pop it open and look at the filter screen. Thanks for the comment! Happy New Year!

Thanks brother! I’m hoping to do the chain this week or this weekend. How was the audio? I used my wireless mic in hopes of having a more consistent sound. This video also had a ton of edits and I’m trying a new format of an intro and then my channel intro. I recently updated the channel intro as well. Let me know what you think!

Do you have any type of ecu with the exhaust and everything

I am running the stock ecu at the moment. I want to get an aracer ecu soon though. The stock ecu seems to be happy with just the exhaust but I do also want to do an intake so I know I’m going to need one at some point.I did reset the stock ecu and I currently get around 110 mpg.

Burn those tyres as soon as you can. If you Don want to go the burnout route, use your brake, slide at every turn.
Whatever you do, DON'T use that crap when it's raining.
Pirelli and Bridgestone are great choices after that.

    • @icemanfiveoh
      @icemanfiveoh  Год назад +2

That was the plan. The first week I had the grom I was already sliding around in the rain. I like Pirelli but i'll have to look and see. Unless you have a specific recommendation.

@@icemanfiveoh currently I'm using Pirelli Diablo Rosso scooter in the front can't recommend it enough. Two almost hits, and the tyre behaved superbly. But beware, it is a tyre that won't shy away from turning. Meaning, it will give you the feeling of dropping the front if you don't commit to a turn. My advice would be to keep an eye on the pressure at least every two weeks, minimum. At 2 BAR, it is not that perceptible. If you are not afraid of leaning, all good.
Rear, I would stay away from Metzeler. Although a Pirelli brand, I didn't like it. So, either the Diablo, the Bridgestone Battlax SC, good tyre for grip and longevity, or ML50, fantastic for grip on any surface.
The city grip wasn't as bad as I expected, but one time I needed it, it failed me. And I was going very slow. I couldn't trust it again, and even then I felt it slip a couple times more.
In the next days or weeks I'm installing a Continental twist. Let's see how that one behaves.
Bridgestone or Pirelli, you can't go wrong.

Thanks bro. I was considering Bridgestone. I'm not sure i want an aggressive tire. I like leaning but don't want to be forced to do it. This is why i ask for recommendations. Stay tuned to the channel to see what i pick. Thanks again...

@@icemanfiveoh The Pirelli Angel is the same profile as the Diablo, different compound. I have a rear to install, never used one. I suspect the behaviour should be very similar between the tyres, just the Angel should be more suited for colder/wetter climates, and less aggressive use.
I didn't mentioned why I would stay away from the Metzeler.
From more then one tyre model, you need to warm up the tyres before you have any decent grip. And by warming up, I mean you have to roll for a long time because is not just 5 or 10 minutes. By then you have already forgotten, open the throttle and the rear slides underneath you. Once it's BURNING HOT, not a problem scraping the foot peg on the ground, but you not racing all the time, most the time we just heading to a shop or meeting someone.

Good info! Sounds like something i would be interested in. Seeing as i only ride for 10-15 mins to work i'm def not heating up the tires. I like hopping on and riding. Thanks for all the info and suggestions!
