    I have spare left and right CB350Four sidecover original badges I purchased in 1979 from a dealer for AU$37.00 the pair that you can have now in 2024 for US$600.00 a pair. MUCH nicer than the trashy reproduction ones they make in China. Cheers.

    Your kickstand rubber is about to fall off. I still have my original 1973 CB350 four I bought new. It's never been ridden on a wet road and is now showing 62,000KM's (40,000 miles) and it's compression is still 160psi (just down 10psi from new from factory in 1973). They are a fun little bike for sure.

      When I DC converted it, I used an add a fuse in the fuse box and ran that wire over to where it needed to go on the right side of the bike. This is the first video of yours I've seen, so I don't know what all you have for the bike. If you're starting with a stock XLCH and converting it to XLH electric start, it requires changing a lot of parts. The sprocket cover is different, as is the oil tank, battery box, and exhaust. You have 2 choices for sprocket cover, one with the cutout for the starter and the kicker support bushing, and one without the bushing if you are going to remove the kicker. You have to change the battery box because the starter requires a larger battery and this doesn't leave room for the stock, square oil tank. At least these are changes required on a 72'Sporty. I went back and watched ep2. It looks like you have the oil tank and battery box you need for electric start. I have a 72 XLCH that I am converting to XLH for my wife.

    • @icemanfiveoh
      @icemanfiveoh 2 месяца назад

      Thanks for the comment! Since I don't have most of those parts, I don't have to change them! I have a kidney oil tank, so that should work. I'm going to order an XLH battery box, and I don't have exhaust either. The one thing I do know is that I'm going to have to clearance the cam cover for the starter. If I have to do the sprocket cover as well, then I'll do that. I had to go into the primary area to replace the clutch cable, so it wasn't a big deal to rip apart the clutch and get a ring gear welded on.

    • @icemanfiveoh
      @icemanfiveoh 2 месяца назад

      Nice. You saw a battery box? I don't think I have one... I have the whole starter assembly, though. Sounds like you might have some good tips and tricks based on what you are doing. If you think of anything else that I should be aware of, let me know! Thanks again for the comment!

      @@icemanfiveoh I didn't see a battery box, but I thought you said, in ep2 that you had a large battery box also. The rear brake may be an issue since they went to left side brake in 74, so your frame won't have the tube for the brake rod shaft to go through. Personally I would go with the juice rear brake as you already have to get a wheel, and will have to switch swing arm for mechanical. Either way you will need frame mods. if you want mid controls. A mount for a brake pedal/master cylinder for left side hydraulic, or a sleeve for mechanical. You might see if you can get forward controls that are made for left side mechanical brake that use a cable for the brake. I think those were available at one time. Or get a set and alter them for a master, then run a steel brake line back to the left side in front of the swing arm and go to rubber line from there to a caliper. You wouldn't hav to mod the frame that way. Setting up mid controls might be a real pain. But I've never done it. I'm an old fart and only have email. If you give me yours, I will give you mine.

    FYI: If I'm not mistaken, the plumbers putty you used was the 'stain-free' type, not the standard putty. Stain-free one is oil-free and is for natural surfaces (stone counter tops, etc.). That could have an effect on how it works vs regular putty. Just mention it for future viewers. Listening to the sound of your hand on the dirty side of the car vs the bar'd side, I'd say you need to have a word with whomever washed your car as that sounded like sandpaper and no where close to even just regular clean! LOL!

    that throttle cable looks backwards. all my bikes have the hard 90 on the handle bar side. run cleanly down the bar and frame per manual of a stock bike.

    • @icemanfiveoh
      @icemanfiveoh 2 месяца назад

      The one side that has the 90 is the Mikuni end. The other side has the ball for the throttle. I solved the issue of it coming out funny from the throttle by getting a cable that has a 90 on the throttle side. I thought it was weird too when I got the cable. Thanks for the comment!

    Don't worry about the look of the cable till you get the lights on the front. It isn't hard to make your own cables. That is what I do for my bikes. Keep up the good work brother. P.S. I have a box of sockets that I have bought by mistake.

      Thanks for the comment! Where do you get the parts to make your own cables? That sounds like a pretty good idea. Hopefully I will have solved the cable issue with the next cable that is coming in soon.... Thanks for the encouragement as well!

    I remember when you first got it you did mention that the brakes feel a little soft. How do they feel about now?

    • @icemanfiveoh
      @icemanfiveoh 2 месяца назад

      The Rebel or the Ranger? Lol. The brakes on the Rebel still feel the same, somewhat soft. Personally, I'd like a bit more grip. The brake feel on my Grom is insane vs the Rebel. I'd like to be able to slow down faster on the Rebel, like the Grom. I wonder if there are better pads, and maybe I should get a braided steel line...

      @@icemanfiveoh I’m also on the fence for a Rebel 500, but the soft brakes are a deal breaker for me … I’ve seen four other RUclipsrs do the test ride since 2020 to 2024 they all say the same thing it’s always the same problem. I don’t think it’s an easy fix meaning it’s pretty expensive from what I hear.

      Hmmm, interesting. Well now I think I'll look into it and see what can be done. At low speeds(less than 30-40) it's not horrible. Plus for me this thing is just a cruiser. I know full well it's not some sort of sport bike, and I always try and leave extra space for braking.

      I’ve found it easier to do on the bike. The best thing to do is get the tool to put the springs in.

    Hi! I was following your instruction and it works! However, when I increase the volume it keeps disconnecting, what can be the problem? Thank you for your video! It really helped me because I am still a newbie in DIY.

      How are you powering it? Almost seems like whatever you have it plugged into isn’t supplying enough current. I would try plugging it into a brick or something that can deliver more power. Let me know if that makes a difference…

      @@icemanfiveoh Hi! I noticed the LEDs turn from bright blue to pale blue whenver I turn the volume up, perhaps the problem is the resistance? The same as my problem above? Or is it current?
