They used to be Dominus in the 90s. A death metal band. You can really hear that come out in some of their songs. I love my metal. My girlfriend liked pop. Volbeat was the only band we could agree on. Interesting point of fact, Dominus last album was titled Vol. Beat
@@arthurgabriel4325 my bad. Glad at least someone else knows them. I dont have that. (I mean I don't "have" any of them) took me forever to find a torrent of the albums, and it said it was the discography. Guess I have to go searching again.
They made it on the Black list, and crushed it. Love this band for all the variety they do, and the guests they have play with them on studio tracks, and Live. They sound as good live as in the studio, and that...... That says it all.
I like music that manages to be heavy and retain that upbeat feel. It is something that this band has mastered. I agree with the couple of people so far who have made song suggestions, Still Counting and my favorite Volbeat song Lola Montez.
That’s exactly what I like so much about them, I always call it happy metal 🤪 and Michael Poulsen has such a great voice. Also, sad man’s tongue is a good one! If I might add to your summary 🤗
A great technical band with spot on vocals and instrumentals. And a band with message, and emotional impact. They're nothing like Rush, but strangely similar impact engaging your brain, your gut, and your heart, all at the same time. Great reaction David!
The easy entry point to Volbeat is their song Lola Montez, played to death on Planet Rock when it was first released but still sounds good especially the live version.
No not all their songs sound like this but they have like 5 or 6 distinct styles they kinda rotate from and theyve kinda added to it over the years especially after they added Rob Caggiano ( forgive the mispelling if i did) but I can assure you theyve stayed very true to their sound and their entire discography is great imo. one of my all time favorite groups and very underrated
Their latest album is their heaviest, and full of bangers. Especially the songs Shotgun Blues, and Say No More. But I've got a bunch of favorites from all their albums. Still Counting, Seal the Deal, The Everlasting, Fallen, Dead but Rising, A Warrior's Call, Pool of Booze, Healing Subconsciously, Maybe I believe, etc.
Volbeat is great! You've probably heard of Metallica's cover album 'Blacklist' where they had different artists do covers of some of their songs. Well, Volbeat covered 'Don't Tread on Me', and it's very energetic & amazing. Some other great ones to look into are: Still Counting (Live), Warrior Call, and so many more.
I love them , you will prefer certain songs at first then the songs you weren't too sure about will get under your skin and you'll love everything from their Country style tunes to their Rockabilly sound to the straight out Metal tunes
Volbeat is the best band around right now. You should check out more by them. They play great Metal with amazing harmonies. Check out “The Nameless One” or “The Hangman’s Body Count” from the album “Outlaw Gentlemen and Shady Ladies” or “Lola Montez” their most popular song for something more melodic. They are simply incredible and just keep getting better!
My favorite band from 2000 and up. Actually the only band I like that came out of the 2000's, other then Ghost. They've got so many good songs, getting more commercial as the years go on. But thats not always a bad thing.
This band I believe, took part of their name from a pokemon. Glad to see you finally listen to this band! I think the next song their fandom will request will be, "Still Counting". Are you ready?
The vocalist does his thing with extraordinary authority! Even in the lower registers, his tone is PIERCING! I appreciate the lack of horse growling, too. Very solid production. The right amount of repetition for listening comfort, while still being musically interesting. Transitions are engaged with GUSTO, like they're the most important thing! Familiar, yet distinctive...very listenable! Dave says, 8.2...Usually, I rate about half a point less than Dave; but this time I'd go 8.7, for the vocalist--I really like the range he sings in. Reminds me of Rob Halford of Judas Priest tonally, but Halford spends too much time in the higher registers (ouch) for my taste. This Volbeat vocalist, though, hits a sweet spot...
Sad Mans Tongue 7 shots Human Instrument Guitar Gangsters Mirror and the Ripper Dead but Rising Hangman’s Body Count Lola Montez A moment forever The nameless one The Everlasting Leviathan Die to Live I could go on for awhile,,, whoever said their songs sound the same is clueless. They actually bounce around from hard rock to metal to rockabilly to country elements and it all sounds 🔥🔥🔥
If you like this song you’ll like their first few albums. I love Volbeat, but their last few albums they went more mainstream and poppy. Their first few albums are pretty heavy
Well there's a Gold Tier member who actually prioritized a Nightwish song as one of their 3 prioritized requests for the month of October. I'll be filming it next week. Not gonna say which song, don't wanna give anything away.
Pause. I thought you started out with: I'm David Haircut. psych! First toke in 3 weeks. whoaaaa... Great band, huh? Still rockin' Check out Scorpion's new one: Rock Believer. OK, back to your video. ...aaand push Play.
Pretty good Denmark band. I preffer their older albums. River Queen, Still Counting or Sad Man´s Tonque are my favorites songs. The only thing that bothers me a little is that a lot of their songs are very similar. Such 2-3 templates for everything.
I kind of like Volbeat. But the thing with Volbeat is that ALL the songs sounds exactly the same.. Seems like the lyric is the only thing separate the songs..
The Garden’s Tale, For Evigt, Sad Man’s Tongue…so many good songs, all catchy as hell
So glad you reacted to them. Volbeat is currently my fav band. If you liked this, you’ll like most of their catalog.

Glad you liked it, David! To answer your question yes a lot of their songs have this sort of drive to it. They’re excellent musicians.
Ian - Great wee song man. Reminds me of a band I listen to called The Sword. Can you recommend a Volbeat album please? I'd like to check them out.
@@gmon78 beyond hell/above heaven is a really good album.
@@ianfranks541 Thanks man. Definitely going to give that a spin😁
I always listen to volbeat when running, they are very energetic and upbeat to run to.
Volbeat! Hell yeah, great band great music! Glad you liked them, hope there is more to come

Volbeat is great, I listen to them every week their songs are addictive xd
Man I love your channel, have to remind myself this isn't the late 90s satellite radio 🤘 reminds me of the times long haul trucking with my dad. R.I.P

Sad man's tongue is a good choice to introduce to them... Lola Montez is my favorite song, fallen my #2, Goodbye forever #3...

I listened to them a lot back in 2010. The album Beyond Hell/Above Heaven was huge here in Scandinavia at least.
This song kind of reminds me of The Sword a little. Liking it so far!
The Sword is such an overlooked and underrated band.
@@laudanum669 Yeah man, those dudes can play 😀
Goodbye forever is one of my favorites
They did a song with King Diamond
