The first step is to sign up for Visible Wireless. Using the Party Plan, you can have access to unlimited talk, text, AND data with mobile hotspot capability for only $25 per month.
The second step is to get a travel router. You can go cheap for under $30, but remember that the better the capabilities and size of the router, the farther the reach will be to connected devices. In this video, I will use the Rav Filehub for which I paid $20 (details in the video for how I got it so cheap) and show you how to connect it to your Visible Wireless mobile hotspot to connect all of your devices to the internet.

Just a little correction: Your speed shouldn’t necessarily halve going from one AP to another if they’re close by, but your PING WILL suffer. The best way to get around that is to connect your phone to your computer with USB, and then share the USB connection to the hotspot with ethernet from your computer TO your hotspot. That will give you the best ping possible but it will be shit compared to an actual wired cable/fiber connection.

Very informative! I think the biggest key is keep that old smartphone or maybe a tablet could work? Currently I have an older iPad Pro (2017) and an iPhone se 2020. Definitely approaching new phone time and was curious about some of googlefi’s data only sim plans because if I understood correctly they automatically adjust to the best service towers? I wonder also if the portable router/hotspot could accept such a SIM card?

Been with visible for about 2yrs now and love it. I went with the AC750 mini router from amazon for $35 and with an iphone 14 it works like a champ. Same setup as your router. On mine, I run a laptop, remote TV, nest thermostat, ring doorbell, 2 security cameras, and a CO2 monitor all at the same time in my RV. For a guy to always have unlimited internet wherever an RV can be towed at $25 ($25.00 is the full charge, no other taxes or fees) a month is outstanding. You can upgrade to 5g on visible for $10 more tho I haven't done that yet.

I have my router hookes up to the visible hotspot, but when I connect any device to my routers wifi and try to load a webpage it redirects me to visible web page.

Been using visible with a nano router for a month now. No issues so far. Hopefully they don't start capping the speed or change anything because so far it has worked great. We've used it for Netflix, gaming online, and for a laptop and haven't had any issues with speed unless multiple devices are being used at the same time.
How did you get to use the nano router?

@@kazzilla99 I use an old iPhone and connect the router to the hotspot. It’s pretty much like having WiFi in the house because as long as the phone stays on the hotspot stays connected to the router. Before, I’d have to connect my hotspot every time I wanted internet. The router makes it nice because it’s always on so you can leave things connected. I run security cameras, an echo dot, Xbox, and several other devices on it.
@@kazzilla99 I got a nano router on Amazon for $25 and with Visible my internet is basically $25/mo and works great. I even work from home sometimes with it and it does great for the majority of what I need to do. If you run multiple devices at the same time 2 setups would work better. I can run my laptop while the tv is streaming video in another room but it is a bit slower that way. Depends a lot on the area you’re in also. Visible service works great in my area though.

I was able to get this working with an iPhone, and I'm able to connect multiple devices to it. But it seems the phone or the hotspot features goes to sleep when nothing is connected to it. So when I go to connect to it, it's not an available wifi, until I wake the phone up. Does that sounds right? I have the phone plugged into wall charger the entire time.
I bought the Netgear nighthawk m1100 Will I be able to use that as a hotspot through visible and then connect my route power to it to get the multiple devices The router I bought is the unlocked version supposedly

I think you'd get hung up in that process. To provide signal to the iPhone, you'd be using the android hotspot. For the iPhone to pick it up, wifi would have to be on. And that's the end. The iPhone can use the android's hotspot for internet access, but you can't then turn on the iPhone's hotspot to redistribute the signal. You can't use wifi and hotspot together on the same device.
I stream not using a streaming device but using a smart TV like a Roku TV. I don't think I just might be strong enough for a smart TV to stream, would you agree or would you recommend something else?
I use their service like this, but use an old Cradlepoint CTR35 router and Wifi as WAN to get it done. The Cradlepoint router is unreliable ( TP Link Wisp router on the way ) but I get 89-90 ms ping which isn't terrible for gaming. I had AT&T Data connect and got 60-70ms with just a 4G router. Since this is a rural internet option, Sat internet will have a latency of 120-160ms although Starlink may be better once it matures... This is the best rural internet for gaming that you can get at the moment

The sims don’t work in the stand alone modems without changing settings to “fake” it out and make it think it’s in a phone
I put the sim into a Netgear AC791L and it worked fine. I'm assuming the $300 LTE modem is the Nighthawk m1 and it seems people have issues with them through visible.

A big question my phone company only gives me 15 gb of hotspots per month, does the router helps not to spend all the 15 gb in and day? For example to watch a movie it takes 2 to 3 gb of data.

But her android phone automatically disconnects and stops charging after about two days of being plugged into the electrical outlet. What's the advantage of purchasing the RAVpower Filehub? Hey Mikey, Is this still the best deal you have found. I am working from home due to Covid. There is talk they will keep us at home till Sept...UGH Don't ask me why. I had to get internet specifically for this situation. My company pays 10 bucks every two weeks to buffer the cost for their share. My cable company charges 54 bucks a month for just wifi access. I need a cheaper way to keep wifi so I can keep my job and not dent my budget doing it. Visible is still the best deal I've found so far. Your plan doesn't have to go to $40. Start a party, go to Reddit Visible Party Pay and ask for people to join. You'll fill up in hours, pay $25 forever.

Do you see any potential to making the Nighthawk being a viable solution again anytime in the near future? And also, I was wondering when you were using the data connect SIM, on average how much data do you think you used on average per month? I’m at an apartment complex that doesn’t support fios, or gigabyte Comcast internet, and it seemed like the nighthawk was my best bet for fast speeds. But since they removed the “no throttling” feature of their SIM, I’m trying to figure out how much data per month I should get on a T-Mobile SIM, and if there even is a non-unlimited data package big enough to support competitive gaming on a daily basis. I'm still learning about the Nighthawk. Some of my readings have led me to believe that it can be used as a repeater or bridged just like the RAV Filehub I show in the video, but I have yet to figure it out. It's also preset for ATT, but it has more capabilities than just that and settings can be changed to make it compatible with any network. In short, there's probably some ways you could still find use for it, but I have not found a simple "plug in the sim and voila" plan like the dataconnect plan was. I'm sorry on that one, but I still continue to look. --
When using the dataconnect plan EXCLUSIVELY, we were using anywhere from 300-600gb per month. That's gaming, streaming tv for 6 hours, and binging RUclips daily. We've cut that back to around 80-120gb per month with the addition of cable internet back into the house. --
Visible is the closest thing to truly unlimited mobile hotspot data for the house. It's prioritized, but unlimited. Unfortunately, I don't want to mess up my Nighthawk by changing settings because I still have/use my dataconnect plan. But you might try searching some information about how to change the settings on the Nighthawk to make it suitable for Verizon. If it looks like something you can confidently do, Visible may be the way to go.
Cynical Mikey Yeah, I figured it’d be well over 200g for daily use. It’s a shame because there’s literally no plans that are remotely affordable or non-business that offer anything even close to compensating that kind of usage. I haven’t purchased the Nighthawk yet, thank god; and I was looking into unlocked ones that allow any SIM. I did come across this video which seemed intriguing, allowing you to use a Verizon SIM and reprogramming some parameters in your PC to basically hide the fact that your hotspotting your data, thus granting you unlimited tethering. Probably wouldn’t be ideal for your personal application given the fact that you’re looking for a home internet solution, rather than someone like me just looking to get faster internet on one PC for gaming purposes. But thanks so much for the insight, looking forward to what you come up with in the future. Hopefully 5G will be a good blanket solution for all of us with internet troubles.

Mikey, I’ve had visible for over a year now, any way to get full speed WiFi, the hot spot from the phone is throttled back and slow. I have the iPhone 7+.

Wow did exactly as you said got the Visible 40$ and cheapest phone plus the ravpower filehub paid 99$ but was worth it. I follow all instructions as you indicated and wala unlimited hotspot bridge yes so exited. Thank you so much. So far works great for me and I live in the sticks. Is there a reason why one would have to use one of your recommended routers? I would guess it just has to be a wireless router, or is there something special about the ones you recommend?
You could use any router that supports USB tethering.
I usually recommend anything that has Openwrt so you can further modify it.
You pick up a Gl.inet router for $20 and share it to a cheap router that you already potentially have.
You would USB tether to the gl.inet router, and share the internet to the other router via Ethernet.
The good thing about the Gl.inet routers you can modify the TTL to bypass the limit to most cell phone plans, such as Verizon and T-Mobile.
Do we have to connect the second old phone? Can that step be skipped? What's the purpose of connecting the old phone?

Just a heads up, newer phones definitely will broadcast your current WiFi connection as a hotspot. It just gives it a different SSID. My Pixel 3 does it.
It seemed like a phone hotspot may not be strong enough for using a smart TV. Would you agree? Like I have a Roku TV but not a Roku device.

Anthony on your device you won’t get throttled but when you use your hotspot you’ll be throttled at 5mbps download and upload.

I tried a cheap $10 Rav file hub travel router, and it worked fine. I connected five devices to it with no problem. Visible let you connect more then one devices on hot spot if you have a Iphone, but only one device with a android phone. Why? I don't know.
However, you can connect two devices with your android phone. Plug in a usb cable into your laptop, and phone, go to settings, networks, "WIRE" tethering, and turn on. Your laptop will be connected to the internet. Than connect another device to your hot spot.
Do you need the rev power if you have iPhone? Like can you use multiple devices for Internet with iPhone only?
I've been told that unlocked iPhones can connect multiple devices on this service. I cannot verify it, but it seems to be common knowledge to iPhone users.

Just got my Visible phone and I get two bars of signal where I live and the hot spot still works great. It out performs the company I have now for less money.
My signal bounces between 1-3 bars at my house, but I also manage a good stable connection with okay speeds for what it is. The only thing that makes me nervous is gaming competitively, but I trust it to run everything else just fine.
Mikey, I bought the Rav Power hub and successfully connected it to an android phone which is using T-Mobile for unlimited wireless. I used an Iphone 7 to configure the Rav hub to receive internet from the android T-Mobile phone. So all is good with set up. However, My speeds for any device connected to the Rav hub are only receiving an average upload speed of .50 mbps and .50 mbps download. Whereas my internet source phone using T-Mobile gets 13 down and 4 up. Would the reason for this throttled down speed be because I am using T-Mobile rather than Visible? If you look at tmobile site for unlimited hotspot. Is says the hotspot speeds are 3g unlimited.

There are a few important things you should know: 1) Visible throttles the hotspot to 5Mb which is plenty fast for HD streams but like all cell providers, they 2) limit streams to 480p which isn't the greatest quality on a TV larger than 26in, and 3) like all MVNOs, your speeds can be painfully slow during primetime tower usage because Verizon premium customers get priority.. If you live in a 5g area and you have a 5g device, that does not affect you. For the 5Mb hotspot throttle and 480p stream limitation, I have an easy solution. Get a GL-iNet N300 router so that you can configure the firewall to set the TTL value to 65 to bypass the 5Mb throttle. This model also contains VPN software at the router level to hide your connection to the streaming service providers such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney+, youtube, etc. If you are using a Windows laptop, Android TV, or any android device with root, you can use any router because these devices can easily change the TTL value so that by the time packets reach the Visible server, they are 64. Unfortunately Roku devices and smart TVs do not allow you to configure the TTL so you are limited to 5Mb speed. Also, smart TVs and Roku devices do not allow setting up a VPN so the TV / Roku device can never avoid the 480p stream limitation. The GL-iNet N300 is perfect for any 4g/5g cellular provider, not just Visible.

So I have been trying to use this plan with an Asus router. The wifi works for some of my devices. My non apple devices work fine (work laptop and galaxy s10). However I also have two macs and the internet is really off and on for them. They both always have wifi signal but it seems like only one of them has internet at a time. Almost like visible is limiting it to one apple device. Have you seen this issue at all or have any ideas for getting past it?

So I chatted with the rep at Visible they are denying that mobile hot spots are supported. With out giving a compatible IMEI number they will not let me get to setting up a sim card. Do we just put in what ever sim card and then put it in a device and it works?

I have regular Verizon and it has a 20 GB hotspot data cap. If I could connect to a router via USB without turning my phone's hotspot mode on, then I could tether my connection and be able to use more than 20 GB.

@@c5689 Yes. After I got the phone and activated I moved the sim card to a Verizon Jetpack and it's working great. Get about 25 mb download over wifi.
