I unapologetically use 3 of the wired outlets - one for my personal computer, one for the router to my bedroom, and one for the HD TV we all use. The 4th one is for the router to everything else.

I have the same setup and work full time when camping. We camp a lot. My husband works on road full time and steals it and loves it. I used cricket plan with ours since don’t need unlimited data yet. But works great and that antenna works amazing.
We use a designated hot spot phone from visible, $40.00 unlimited data and a mini router as well. Actually we have 2. One just in case. We have the Rav file hub and the mango. Works great!
Just wanted to say thanks for this ... Starlink is out of my price range so I’ve used Travel Data for six months-great for RV trips and no contract needed. Service is flexible and usually reliable, though speed can vary by location. Customer support is helpful, though occasionally slow. Overall, a solid choice for me so far, and I've got a $79 price each month.
Thanks for the information! We are stationary, but this is very helpful information since I am not happy with my current provider. I wish these were available back when we were over the road trucking. I had a stick that plugged into my laptop, but that was the only thing it could be used for and it was veeerrrryyy slow 😉. Back then we used both T-mobile and Verizon for our cell providers because no matter where we were, we had cell service through one of them (typically T-mobile). We started with AT&T, but learned real quick that traveling and talking with them before the concept of "unlimited" was a thing, did not go hand-in-hand.
Cell service really has had some ups and downs. We run into people that have been fulltime for 10+ years and I just don't understand how they did it back then 😂

I know T-MOBILE is good in some areas. My nomad router will switch between them and AT&T. When connected to T-Mobile I get 40-50k (horrible speed) when connected to AT&T I get 1.6m. That’s just at my house, I’m not mobile like you are… Great information!

We were just talking about finding something like this for the grandkids tablets & when we travel and to have internet for our phones, laptop and TV watching. We just signed up for RUclips TV at home and can watch it when we are at out beach home or in the RV. We do mostly weekend stuff right now but would like to do longer trips when a family issue is settled. We are not techy people so we are looking for simple. We may need new TVs in the RV too since our rig is a 2011, I'm not sure how internet capable they are. Now to get some help with that! LOL HUGS~Donna
Simple is good! I've been very happy with Travel Data and it doesn't get much simpler than that. If you decide to sign up for them make sure to use our referral link for a discount: five2go.com/traveldata If those TV's have HDMI ports on them (they most likely do), something like an Amazon Fire Stick or Google Chromestick will get all of the streaming stuff onto them. Both are quite easy to use and only 20-30 bucks.
You have to enable the guest network in order to supply all 15 devices with uninterrupted data. The primary and the guest are set up on 2 different channels for that reason. The primary channel will handle 8 and also the guest channel 8. You need the Netgear Genie app to control the settings, by setting the range from short to long will increase your distance. If you are not running any 5g devices, select to disable that function to just 2.4 -4g. Also, when running that many devices, it is good to reboot the router periodically and offload. I have the same device and it is amazing
We did an hour long zoom call with our Roadrunners this past Sunday and it was just fine. It has also run great when doing remote desktop work and streaming Netflix, Disney+, etc. I've seen transfer speeds up to 70mbps in speed tests on that thing - it's no slouch!
I have my nighthawk connected to my Weboost booster and antenna using a split connector. Works amazing! Thank you for the bridge idea. I'm definitely adding that for all my iot stuff.
When using external antennas....use the shortest and lowest loss cable possible. Adaptors will always attenuate the signal as well. The signal on antenna cables is remarkably tiny and fragile and the gain of putting the antenna outside can be wiped out by cables and adaptors.

Just watched your vid. I had a similar setup but ended up getting a MoFi 4500 after hot spot battery nearly blew up. Also, I now have no problem with device limits. Agree about the booster. I use a TP link nano in order to use Verizon off my phone as backup. I did a small vid on my setup that shows what my battery did. Thanks for the info!
I've heard about battery issues like that. I keep the battery out of that nighthawk unless I'm using it unplugged. I'm actually on the second battery for that unit, the first one started to swell up so I stopped using it asap.
I bought a MoFi unit like 5 years ago and still never got it to work with my ATT SiM and keep using my slow Mobley since it is only $23 a month. What did you use for SIM?
@busaj383 I use an ATT SIM. I'm still using it now. I actually have 2 of them. My son has 1 of them on his vacation right now. It is the SIM they send you for the tablet plan. I do know that in the early models of the MOFI, not all of them worked with ATT. My sister bought a different model that worked with Tmobile that my ATT would not work with. I'm not sure why yours would not be working.
Good video with one exception. Boosters do work and especially with data. I’m not saying your antenna doesn’t work but being an RF guy and have tested many boosters for clients, we found they have brought very low signals and no voice or data to usable signals. Yes and we do use dB meters for our tests plugged in and unplugged for comparison of performance.
If you're somewhere with no signal or way out on the edge a booster could definitely be the difference between no data and *some* data. It doesn't "boost" your speed though, and that's what the average person looking for those wants. They're in a campground with a weak but usable signal so they see the word "boost" and think it's a way to get faster data. They'll get more bars, but actual real-world data speeds will not go up unless it's a really expensive MIMO booster. An RV cell booster is an external antenna connected to another unit that rebroadcasts that signal (poorly, and often with a lot of interference if not installed properly) inside your rig. All of your actual gained signal strength is coming from that external antenna - if you can connect your hotspot directly to it you'll be much better off. If you need voice or don't have external antenna ports on your hotspot, you're stuck using a booster. The guys that sell those expensive kits aren't clear about exactly what they do and what scenario they're best suited for.

I'd love to see your data, honestly. Everyone I've talked to that has tried a booster has seen the same thing I have. We've had a ton of discussion about it on our discord server with not a single person reporting any gains - including from a few other guys on there that know way more about wireless communication than I do. RUclips hardware reviews are normally for units that haven't been paid for so there tends to be a bias in the information shared, therefore I don't see them as very reliable for the most part. I didn't have to pay for the one they sent me to test either, but if something doesn't work for me I'm going to say it regardless of whether I paid $0 or $400. I would love it if there was a magical box I could plug in and have wicked fast wireless speeds everywhere!

There's a reason the cell booster makes your Hotspot slower. Its not snake oil. Boosters and cell modems are different and have different use cases. MIMO vs SISO is why the booster makes it slower. I have both personally a booster and a modem
We have Legacy unlimited At&t plus Legacy unlimited Verizon plans, no throttleing. We use a M1 Nighthawk and Netgear MIMO antenna w/ our At&t plan like you do and have a 8800L hotspot w/ TS9 antenna ports for our Verizon plan. Our Weboost Cell Booster, still gets used sometimes to enhance signal to our smartphones and enable calling, so it's not a total waste, occasionally, not often, upload speeds are better with the Weboost then using the MIMO antenna. Thanks for this informative video and validating why we are still fine with our simple home and on the road internet setup.

Hey Bri, Just got my TravelData unit. Have it set up & running at home (upstate NY) to test it out before we hit the road for a 3 week road trip Feb '22. So far, real good. Recent speed test showed 48Mb down, 27Mb up. We'll be hitting some more rural areas on our trip - should be a good test. We hit full time this May, like to think we have a good solution here. Cell booster are mainly for calls. Us truckers use them alot while driving up and around mountains. Yes data slows because people forget data uses multiple channels for speeds. Not every booster works on multiple channels at same time.
What do you use for internet, like to stream Netflix and whatnot? My husband and I are leaving on Oct 11th to start our new OTR team job and need a reliable internet access while on the road.
@@feliciagillman5610 yes netflix is best option. Carriers like t-mobile don't slow down stream sites. Apps like speedify let you combine multiple internet sources for 1 faster speed.
The cell booster in truck stops is best all around option. The $250is 1 works for 1 device and it can't be in an phone case. The $500 weboost otr boost multiple devices.
OpenWRT 21.xx+ versions and MWAN3 will allow you to have multiple incoming WANs and prioritize who can use what service with one SSID. I use this on a GL.iNet MT1300 to allow Starlink, campground wifi, and cell via USB. My network never goes down unless all external go down.
T-Mobile currently is IMO the best USA carrier period. Their coverage is as good as all other Carriers if not better. T-Mobile has spent more money on their Network over the past 5+ years than all others combined. Their 5G was rated the very best by two leading sources. Do your own research, T-Mobile kicks ass‼️👍👍. Boosters aren’t snake oil. the problem is most are like 40-60db gain which very high. also the install of the outside to inside antenna is very critical and in a rv very hard to achieve the correct antenna separation required to the amplifier inside doesn’t oscillate. the average person probably will have a hard time installing. That antenna you is very good and will give mimo too.

Lol, my dog does the same thing! While working from home, the snoring dog was always happening during online calls and remote meetings, but most people couldn’t here it thankfully!
seems like the best antenna will be a helical antenna.. that could be worth trying in a extreme remote area but it would require to be pointed at the right spot to work properly

Starlink will eventually be the #1 solution for RVers but right now you're locked into a "home cell" when you sign up. That will change in the next year or two and it'll become mobile. Then all these cell companies trying to charge an arm and a leg for throttled and capped data will get trashed. It's going to be great 😁

Your best bang for the buck would be something like the Wilson directional antenna. About the same price as your flat panel, but way better signal strength.
I work in GIS. Just interviewed for a 100% remote job because I have a dream of traveling and working at the same time. I asked the manager what the minimum internet speed is required for downloading their large high resolution imagery. He said a very minimum of 100mbps. Ugh, dream crushed! If you or anyone else reading this knows of a trick to get that kind of speed through mobile hot spot please share your advice!!!! (I realize this post is 1yr old)
IPAD AT&T post as you go unlimited plan, I put the sim in a netgear 4g lte modem, and connect my iPhone, iPad and MacBook to it, I use 3-400 gb a month, old plan might find on eBay, that’s where I bought mine in 2019 for about $30 and bought my own new modem

I am very encouraged by your video. My wife and I use T-Mobile for our cellular phones and are very happy with them. We RV for about 2 to 4 months a year. The rest of the time we are at home in Colorado. We don't get 5G at our house but we do receive a very reliable 4G. My question is: The device you referred to that uses T-Mobile, will it work in my house with the 4G that we get from T-Mobile and work when we travel in our RV? Nomad Internet did the same exact thing to us. Not only did we get an email and then was disconnected the next day, they abandoned their "free for life" policy. It was that if you got 5 people to sign up you got free internet. We worked hard for that. Then they expected us to turn our +$300 router into an expensive paperweight by having to use their equipment ($$$$). No thanks.
Man, I was so upset when I heard that while editing. I had the AC off, nobody else was home, it was perfect. Then the dog decided to lay right next to the camera and snore. 🙄
Another thing worth noting is that the initial setup fee covers the price of the hardware so you're not paying a monthly lease on the equipment. That means you can use it for other things if you stop using TD and you can also turn your service on and off whenever you want/need to and not have to mess around with sending hardware back and forth.
Hey Brian, just came across your page. Love it! My wife and I are thinking about going full time with a fifth wheel, so your videos have been real helpful. This one in particular, we currently reside in Florida and I noticed you are advertising an AT&T hot spot device. I call to check to see if they have an unlimited plan and they do not. This service “travel data” is that compatible with the AT&T device? Nighthawk M6 pro, I believe it’s called. Or, is the TD good enough by itself. We will definitely need unlimited. Thanks you for asking this question to him. I did have AT&T unlimited service since 2015. They disconnected my service when they upgraded my sims card. Talking about that plan is no longer available, but I told them that i was grandfather in long time ago. They never connected my hot spot device back to they service. They told me if I go with a new internet plan then my Netgear device would work. But, I will not have unlimited service. I use over 245gb every month, due to fact I have everything connected to my hot spot. Then, when my 7 grands comes to visit/stay on the week end they hook their devices to my hot spot. NOw, I totally lost about with internet plan to go with that not going to cost me over $200.00 a month. PLEASE, let me know what information Brian recommend to you. Thanks, HELP
My AT&T plan is a grandfathered-in one from 2017 which I've made sure not to mess with. It's definitely not something that's available anymore, they actually discontinued it a month after we got it.

I'm a truck driver. I currently use my cell phone's hotspot service which is 30gb/month. Some months I run out. The only option ATT gave me to solve this was to add another phone plan and line. :(
There's no reason a service like Travel Data wouldn't work for you if you need more data. We use about 10GB per day so unlimited is definitely necessary.
cell boosters, to be efficient bidirectionally have to have send and receive gain. I use a cell booster with a yagi (directional) antenna (ts9 to sma) which also has a gain factor for the remote area coverage.
I've had Traveldata for about 5 months and it has worked great for rural internet. I connected it to an outside external antenna. But just got an email this month saying they have more carrier option other than Tmobile and the monthly price is going up to $150. There is also a data cap now, depending on the carrier you choose, the price range will be $130 to $150 a month. So i maybe looking for some alternatives
Had me excited about the TravelData until I seen that there is a $200 sign up fee on top of your monthly rate. I will be working remote for a few months this summer and that’s a lot upfront for only a few months.
@@Five2Go Ah ok, the RVITGuys who seem to have the same equipment, just their own sticker on the device says you are "leasing" the device for roughly the same costs so that's why I was concerned this was the same deal. Either way, there's not much you can do with the device if you cancel anyway
I guess in theory you could put another sim in it or use it just for the router functionality. That hardware isn't a one-trick pony like a nighthawk or other carrier-provided hotspot. If you're going to use the service for a while it definitely makes sense to buy the hardware vs a monthly leasing cost.

Since you want a better signal for calls and not data, a booster may work for you. They're awful for data though and don't increase transfer speeds. The cheapest boosters out there are still several hundred dollars. I don't know what all the brands are, but the one I tested was from HiBoost.
Two good companies that give you amazing data speeds on fringe networks are WeBoost and Solid Rf. I have a SolidRf rv antenna my friend has the WeBoost rv antenna. If you are staying in the concrete RV jungle and have a great signal they seem not to work very well but if you are a boondocker and often on fringe networks they are the best. We have had ours for over a year now and couldn’t work without it where we like to camp. There are many people out there that have tested them on RUclips and compare for yourself.

Thanks Sherri! That antenna is super easy to plug in - the two little leads just pop into those two holes on the bottom of the hotspot, that's all. If I go with a bigger antenna out on the ladder I'll make sure to show that in a future video.
Retired woman traveling for recreation. Have Verizon, pay extra $10 monthly for unlimited internet. What product would help me just to be able to watch RUclips, FB, maybe a movie, and check email. I Was just at Thousand Trails Circle M in Lancaster. Internet was super spotty for Verizon. Is there anything that may have helped just to get entertainment?
Great video. I live in one of those valleys that you mentioned in California. My cell provider is Verizon which is just about non-existent here. Wondering if the mini travel router you suggested will work with the travel data unit? I like the idea of running my fire stick and other miscellaneous things off a separate like you mentioned.

I mounted my antenna on tri pod for camera and put in on roof of my rv run the t9 cable inside works great
If you have a satellite dish up on the roof, try taking your cell antenna and stick it on the LMB on the dish. It's amazing.

I have my nighthawk connected to my Weboost booster and antenna using a split connector. Works amazing! Thank you for the bridge idea. I'm definitely adding that for all my iot stuff.

When using external antennas....use the shortest and lowest loss cable possible. Adaptors will always attenuate the signal as well. The signal on antenna cables is remarkably tiny and fragile and the gain of putting the antenna outside can be wiped out by cables and adaptors.

Just watched your vid. I had a similar setup but ended up getting a MoFi 4500 after hot spot battery nearly blew up. Also, I now have no problem with device limits. Agree about the booster. I use a TP link nano in order to use Verizon off my phone as backup. I did a small vid on my setup that shows what my battery did. Thanks for the info!
I've heard about battery issues like that. I keep the battery out of that nighthawk unless I'm using it unplugged. I'm actually on the second battery for that unit, the first one started to swell up so I stopped using it asap.
I bought a MoFi unit like 5 years ago and still never got it to work with my ATT SiM and keep using my slow Mobley since it is only $23 a month. What did you use for SIM?
@busaj383 I use an ATT SIM. I'm still using it now. I actually have 2 of them. My son has 1 of them on his vacation right now. It is the SIM they send you for the tablet plan. I do know that in the early models of the MOFI, not all of them worked with ATT. My sister bought a different model that worked with Tmobile that my ATT would not work with. I'm not sure why yours would not be working.
Good video with one exception. Boosters do work and especially with data. I’m not saying your antenna doesn’t work but being an RF guy and have tested many boosters for clients, we found they have brought very low signals and no voice or data to usable signals. Yes and we do use dB meters for our tests plugged in and unplugged for comparison of performance.
If you're somewhere with no signal or way out on the edge a booster could definitely be the difference between no data and *some* data. It doesn't "boost" your speed though, and that's what the average person looking for those wants. They're in a campground with a weak but usable signal so they see the word "boost" and think it's a way to get faster data. They'll get more bars, but actual real-world data speeds will not go up unless it's a really expensive MIMO booster. An RV cell booster is an external antenna connected to another unit that rebroadcasts that signal (poorly, and often with a lot of interference if not installed properly) inside your rig. All of your actual gained signal strength is coming from that external antenna - if you can connect your hotspot directly to it you'll be much better off. If you need voice or don't have external antenna ports on your hotspot, you're stuck using a booster. The guys that sell those expensive kits aren't clear about exactly what they do and what scenario they're best suited for.

I'd love to see your data, honestly. Everyone I've talked to that has tried a booster has seen the same thing I have. We've had a ton of discussion about it on our discord server with not a single person reporting any gains - including from a few other guys on there that know way more about wireless communication than I do. RUclips hardware reviews are normally for units that haven't been paid for so there tends to be a bias in the information shared, therefore I don't see them as very reliable for the most part. I didn't have to pay for the one they sent me to test either, but if something doesn't work for me I'm going to say it regardless of whether I paid $0 or $400. I would love it if there was a magical box I could plug in and have wicked fast wireless speeds everywhere!

There's a reason the cell booster makes your Hotspot slower. Its not snake oil. Boosters and cell modems are different and have different use cases. MIMO vs SISO is why the booster makes it slower. I have both personally a booster and a modem

We have Legacy unlimited At&t plus Legacy unlimited Verizon plans, no throttleing. We use a M1 Nighthawk and Netgear MIMO antenna w/ our At&t plan like you do and have a 8800L hotspot w/ TS9 antenna ports for our Verizon plan. Our Weboost Cell Booster, still gets used sometimes to enhance signal to our smartphones and enable calling, so it's not a total waste, occasionally, not often, upload speeds are better with the Weboost then using the MIMO antenna. Thanks for this informative video and validating why we are still fine with our simple home and on the road internet setup.

Just got my TravelData unit. Have it set up & running at home (upstate NY) to test it out before we hit the road for a 3 week road trip Feb '22. So far, real good. Recent speed test showed 48Mb down, 27Mb up. We'll be hitting some more rural areas on our trip - should be a good test. We hit full time this May, like to think we have a good solution here.

Yes data slows because people forget data uses multiple channels for speeds.
Not every booster works on multiple channels at same time.

@@feliciagillman5610 yes netflix is best option. Carriers like t-mobile don't slow down stream sites. Apps like speedify let you combine multiple internet sources for 1 faster speed.
The cell booster in truck stops is best all around option. The $250is 1 works for 1 device and it can't be in an phone case. The $500 weboost otr boost multiple devices.

OpenWRT 21.xx+ versions and MWAN3 will allow you to have multiple incoming WANs and prioritize who can use what service with one SSID. I use this on a GL.iNet MT1300 to allow Starlink, campground wifi, and cell via USB. My network never goes down unless all external go down.
T-Mobile currently is IMO the best USA carrier period. Their coverage is as good as all other Carriers if not better. T-Mobile has spent more money on their Network over the past 5+ years than all others combined. Their 5G was rated the very best by two leading sources. Do your own research, T-Mobile kicks ass‼️👍👍. Boosters aren’t snake oil. the problem is most are like 40-60db gain which very high. also the install of the outside to inside antenna is very critical and in a rv very hard to achieve the correct antenna separation required to the amplifier inside doesn’t oscillate. the average person probably will have a hard time installing. That antenna you is very good and will give mimo too.
Just get it up in the air 13 feet minimum and all problems r solved.

seems like the best antenna will be a helical antenna.. that could be worth trying in a extreme remote area but it would require to be pointed at the right spot to work properly

Are you considering Starlink? It won't work while your mobile but once in a park it should work will if you have a clear sky spot.
Starlink will eventually be the #1 solution for RVers but right now you're locked into a "home cell" when you sign up. That will change in the next year or two and it'll become mobile. Then all these cell companies trying to charge an arm and a leg for throttled and capped data will get trashed. It's going to be great 😁

Your best bang for the buck would be something like the Wilson directional antenna. About the same price as your flat panel, but way better signal strength.

I work in GIS. Just interviewed for a 100% remote job because I have a dream of traveling and working at the same time. I asked the manager what the minimum internet speed is required for downloading their large high resolution imagery. He said a very minimum of 100mbps. Ugh, dream crushed! If you or anyone else reading this knows of a trick to get that kind of speed through mobile hot spot please share your advice!!!! (I realize this post is 1yr old)

IPAD AT&T post as you go unlimited plan, I put the sim in a netgear 4g lte modem, and connect my iPhone, iPad and MacBook to it, I use 3-400 gb a month, old plan might find on eBay, that’s where I bought mine in 2019 for about $30 and bought my own new modem

I am very encouraged by your video. My wife and I use T-Mobile for our cellular phones and are very happy with them. We RV for about 2 to 4 months a year. The rest of the time we are at home in Colorado. We don't get 5G at our house but we do receive a very reliable 4G. My question is: The device you referred to that uses T-Mobile, will it work in my house with the 4G that we get from T-Mobile and work when we travel in our RV? Also is the device as well as the service all part of the low price you mentioned?

Nomad Internet did the same exact thing to us. Not only did we get an email and then was disconnected the next day, they abandoned their "free for life" policy. It was that if you got 5 people to sign up you got free internet. We worked hard for that. Then they expected us to turn our +$300 router into an expensive paperweight by having to use their equipment ($$$$). No thanks.

Another thing worth noting is that the initial setup fee covers the price of the hardware so you're not paying a monthly lease on the equipment. That means you can use it for other things if you stop using TD and you can also turn your service on and off whenever you want/need to and not have to mess around with sending hardware back and forth.

This one in particular, we currently reside in Florida and I noticed you are advertising an AT&T hot spot device. I call to check to see if they have an unlimited plan and they do not. This service “travel data” is that compatible with the AT&T device? Nighthawk M6 pro, I believe it’s called. Or, is the TD good enough by itself. We will definitely need unlimited. Thanks you for asking this question to him. I did have AT&T unlimited service since 2015. They disconnected my service when they upgraded my sims card. Talking about that plan is no longer available, but I told them that i was grandfather in long time ago. They never connected my hot spot device back to they service. They told me if I go with a new internet plan then my Netgear device would work. But, I will not have unlimited service. I use over 245gb every month, due to fact I have everything connected to my hot spot. Then, when my 7 grands comes to visit/stay on the week end they hook their devices to my hot spot. NOw, I totally lost about with internet plan to go with that not going to cost me over $200.00 a month. PLEASE, let me know what information Brian recommend to you. Thanks, HELP
My AT&T plan is a grandfathered-in one from 2017 which I've made sure not to mess with. It's definitely not something that's available anymore, they actually discontinued it a month after we got it.

I'm a truck driver. I currently use my cell phone's hotspot service which is 30gb/month. Some months I run out. The only option ATT gave me to solve this was to add another phone plan and line. :(
There's no reason a service like Travel Data wouldn't work for you if you need more data. We use about 10GB per day so unlimited is definitely necessary.

cell boosters, to be efficient bidirectionally have to have send and receive gain. I use a cell booster with a yagi (directional) antenna (ts9 to sma) which also has a gain factor for the remote area coverage.
I've had Traveldata for about 5 months and it has worked great for rural internet. I connected it to an outside external antenna. But just got an email this month saying they have more carrier option other than Tmobile and the monthly price is going up to $150. There is also a data cap now, depending on the carrier you choose, the price range will be $130 to $150 a month. So i maybe looking for some alternatives

Had me excited about the TravelData until I seen that there is a $200 sign up fee on top of your monthly rate. I will be working remote for a few months this summer and that’s a lot upfront for only a few months.
It is a bit high to start but I believe you're buying the hardware and not just leasing/renting it.
@@Five2Go Ah ok, the RVITGuys who seem to have the same equipment, just their own sticker on the device says you are "leasing" the device for roughly the same costs so that's why I was concerned this was the same deal. Either way, there's not much you can do with the device if you cancel anyway
I guess in theory you could put another sim in it or use it just for the router functionality. That hardware isn't a one-trick pony like a nighthawk or other carrier-provided hotspot. If you're going to use the service for a while it definitely makes sense to buy the hardware vs a monthly leasing cost.

Since you want a better signal for calls and not data, a booster may work for you. They're awful for data though and don't increase transfer speeds. The cheapest boosters out there are still several hundred dollars. I don't know what all the brands are, but the one I tested was from HiBoost.
Two good companies that give you amazing data speeds on fringe networks are WeBoost and Solid Rf. I have a SolidRf rv antenna my friend has the WeBoost rv antenna. If you are staying in the concrete RV jungle and have a great signal they seem not to work very well but if you are a boondocker and often on fringe networks they are the best. We have had ours for over a year now and couldn’t work without it where we like to camp. There are many people out there that have tested them on RUclips and compare for yourself.

Thanks Sherri! That antenna is super easy to plug in - the two little leads just pop into those two holes on the bottom of the hotspot, that's all. If I go with a bigger antenna out on the ladder I'll make sure to show that in a future video.

Retired woman traveling for recreation. Have Verizon, pay extra $10 monthly for unlimited internet. What product would help me just to be able to watch RUclips, FB, maybe a movie, and check email. I Was just at Thousand Trails Circle M in Lancaster. Internet was super spotty for Verizon. Is there anything that may have helped just to get entertainment?
Great video. I live in one of those valleys that you mentioned in California. My cell provider is Verizon which is just about non-existent here. Wondering if the mini travel router you suggested will work with the travel data unit? I like the idea of running my fire stick and other miscellaneous things off a separate like you mentioned.
